HRP reboot - Chapter 2: On the Run

Lin was more than angry. She was outright livid. "ARE YOU FUCKING INSANE? THE WHOLE UNSC IS OUT LOOKING FOR YOU AND YOU SHOW UP HERE ON A GOD DAMN INNER COLONY? I NEARLY DIE ON WALTARI AND ALL YOU DID WAS SHOW UP TO LEAVE A GODDAMN MESSAGE?" she raged on. "I LOSE A FRIEND! MY SQUAD IS BROKEN UP AND WE'RE GOING SEPARATE WAYS! MY GIRLFRIEND IS STILL NOWHERE TO BE FOUND EXCEPT RIGHT OVER MY FUCKING SHOULDER IT SEEMS!!" If she didn't stop soon she'd actually scream herself breathless and pass out.

"I WAS THE FUCMING FRIGATE WHO SAVED YOUR SORRY ASS! I SENT MY SPARTANS OUT TO COVER YOU. SO SONT TELL ME ABOUT WALTARI, I BARELY MADE IT!" Siri threw up her hands. "Im sorry. I didnt k ow about your friend, and all i could risk was the message. Chris nearly gutted me." Siri sighed. "Guess I was a fool. Fine. I'll go get some things inleft at your place and leave. Sorry i interruptee your grieving."
Siri made to get up.

Lindsey received the invite and began to make preparations to get ready. She decided to go against a formal uniform or a dress, one would never catch Lindsey in a dress ever. Instead she went for some tight fitting jeans, black boots that slid up to her shins and a plain black t-shirt that had the words ODST stencilled on the front in grey lettering. Her hair, she left loose, she had never cared too much for her personal appearance and was not about to start not. To hide her bionic limb she worse a brown leather jacket and black gloves, the only time she hid it was when she was with civilians. It was incase it hurt morale not like it mattered to them much, they where not the ones fighting.

"My grieving? Interrupted my grieving?" Lin said, voice controlled.....but no less filled with venom. "I cried on the trip to Reach, on the trip to Cesaro. Because of the hell I saw, the comrades I saw butchered and friend I saw murdered. And in all of that, you were not there for me. You say you love me, but you run when I need you. That you care, but are never there when I need your shoulder to cry on. In a way, I almost hate you Siri, for making me go through hell alone, without the person I love. Daniel and Chris were there for me. My sister is here for me. But where the fuck have you been?" She stalked off past Siri. "I said last time we really met face to face, that I would always love you, that I would carry a torch for you. But now......now I'm so used to you not being here, that I don't want you around me." And then she walked off, slowly.

Siri cried...but she ran after her.
"Then arrest me. Take me to the UNSC. If you don't want me Lin, if you can't take it, then arrest me. Because...because..." she sniffed. "If you arent there to come home to one day, and if you dont arrest me, I may as well just die. So arrest me for my own sake."

Lin stopped, still not looking at Siri. Then she turned, and slowly walked back to the crying woman, kneeling down in front of her and taking her hand. "Then will you please stay with me Siri? I know you care about those Spartans.....but you've lost your career in the UNSC, been branded a traitor and a criminal, and come close to losing me and my feelings. Enough is enough."

Siri slowly looked up.
"Ok." She whispered. "Ok."
She leaned in and rested her head on Lin's shoulder, still sobbing.

Sighing, Lin let Siri have her cry before moving back and away from her. "What are you going to do now?" she asked her.

Siri sniffed.
"I surrender to you and submit myself to the UNSC...it's the only thing i can do, right?" She sniffed again, wiping her eyes. "I dont see any other way Lin."

"Well...." Lin said, "You can always fake your death. Take on a new identity. Because if you surrender, they'll give you the death penalty, or at best lock you up forever. And I don't think they'd give us much privacy for a conjugal visit."

Siri looked at her.
"Then...if..." she nodded. "Ok. Then....then...you'll have to do it. In front of your friends." She touched Lin's cheek. "C...ca you shoot me?"

"Whoa whoa whoa," Lin said standing up, lifting Siri with her. "No one's shooting anyone. I mean grab a corpse or something, stage an accident. Hell, make a flash clone of yourself and off them, as cold as that sounds."

"If...if they see you shoot me...it will sell the fake. If you shoot me correctly, at the right angle, you can graze me, draw blood, leave it on the ground, and i fall off a cliff. Or something. Either way, make it look like i died."

"Siri.....look, I'm mad at you, just not that mad," Lin said, shrugging her shoulders. "You pissed me off enough to leave, but never kill."

"We'll find a way." She said. "...Lin...c...can i at least...come home with you? I...I dont want to be alone." She looked scared. "I'll go restrained or whatever you want...please?"

Lin sighed, shaking her head. "No, not now. My team.....they won't understand, not right now. But......rent a room for the night, and later.....come to a club called The Nebula. We'll be there later tonight."

Siri nodded. "Ok..." she looked...even more afraid.
"One kiss? Anywhere? P...please?" Siri hugged herself. "At least spank me?"

For the first time, Lin grinned, and her voice turned rather.....sultry. "My my dear Siri," she said in a hushed tone, lips traveling to Siri's ear. "What kind of girl do you think I am, to spank you in a park like this?" Then without warning, she sucked Siri's earlobe between her lips, suckling gently and licking it with the tip of her tongue for a few seconds, before moving to give her a proper kiss.

Siri vasped softly, blushing.
The proper kiss she happily returned, her cheeks still red. "So...that wasnt exactly a no to the spanking?"

"Actually it's still a no to the spanking. Honestly Siri, I'm not into that stuff," Lin said, slightly exasperated.

"I'm allowed to try." Siri said. "...after the club...w...will I have to be alone?" She asked.

"Not if I can help it," Lin said. She gave Siri another peck on the lips. "Put on a disguise of some sort, attend the club.....and we'll leave later for your hotel room."

Siri nodded. "I'll wear a short red hair'd wig...um...how does a miniskirt and very low v-neck blouse sound?" Siri asked.

Lin smiled a bit. "Sounds perfect," she said.

Siri blushed.
"Ok..." she hugged Lin. "...see you then." She hurried off.

Alone in the woods, Lin sighed and hurried off herself back to her sister's apartment.

Siei found herself a hotel and costume shop, as well as a clothing store.

She soon was getting herself ready.

At the edge of the Cesaro system, there was a single slip-space rupture....and out came a Covenant scouting vessel. A tiny craft, it was undetectable as it scoured through the system. When it located the planet of Cesaro, it immediately left the system to inform the rest of the Covenant of its discovery.

Lin returned to her sisters apartment, opening the door to the sound of sizzling and scent of something cooking. At the kitchen, Daniel was busy cooking, an act that surprised Lin. "You cook?" she asked as she closed the door, and without turning Daniel chuckled. "Yeah, I cook. Pretty well too I might add; used to take cooking classes, one of those le courdon bleu schools." Lin grinned as she walked up behind her friend. "Aren't you just full of surprises?" she said as she moved to help, but he blocked her. "It's fine, I've got this. Chris and your sister asked me to tell you to join them in the mall, they were going out for dresses." He then paused as he considered those words. "You and Chris in a dress........my entire universe feels out of whack." Lin laughed, patting him on the shoulder as she walked back to the door. "Think of it as a special occasion Dan. You get not one, not two, but three gorgeous women looking nice tonight that you get to hang out with. Just stay away from my sis and we're good."

Siri tucked her hair into the wigcap, then tucked her wig on. She touched up with lotion and perfume, then slipped on her best red lingerie, plenty of lace and very much risque. Slipping the miniskirt on, she adjusted the article of clothing.
it didn't feel right. No. No, this wouldn't do.

Throwing it aside, she started digging around her closet.

"Aha she said...and pulled out her dress.

"No problems there," Daniel said as he kept making himself some lunch, and Lin left the apartment. There was only one mall close enough he was sure Chris and Rin went to.....and strangely enough she found herself longing to be on the frontlines again, even with Siri close by. This life, it wasn't for her.

Dressed and ready, Siri headed downstairs.
Head after head turned her way, and she merely smiled at them, a seductive flare sending some off balance. Slidingninto a rented sports car, Siri headed out for The Nebula, wondering how far she could go with her cover and not get killed by Lin.

Serah aka Anna was blissfully unaware of the hazards aboard the ship, yet she began to arm herself for reasons she was unable to find. She was helping herself to their weapons and their ammunition, loading firearms with practised ease even if the memories as to why deserted her fully.

Lindsey had found herself with large amounts of free time before the party or whatever it was they where going to. She was not going to dress up or where anything fancy. Lindsey was already wearing what she was going to wear there and for now she was catching up on a spot of reading.

About half an hour later, the transport landed and the trio walked off, the only sound accompanying them was the sound of the jets of the transport powering down. The three went to the departure station, Alexia saying, "You get checked in to your hotel and I'll see you guys later on tonight, okay?"

They all agreed and went to their respective destinations, with Alexia getting a warm reception from her family as she arrived at her family home. Lily and Mitchell took rentals to their hotel, going to their respective hotel rooms. As Lily arrived at hers, the thoughts of what was going on back home still going through her mind.

I wonder if that little bastard has actually gone through with it. If I hear that he did...I'm going to find him and skin him alive. He's put me though enough shit already.

She sat down on her bed and sighed, hoping she didn't get the call that she knew was inevitable. Right now, she would have preferred taking on the Covenant to this... at least she could do something about them.

After Lin Chris and Rin had done their shopping (Lin having met up with them earlier and gone through the almost comical process of choosing clothes) they all, including Daniel, met up at the club of Nebula. A three story building that took up half the city block, the entrance was something to see, bright neon lights and signs working with holograms to paint the image of an actual nebula, a cloud of bright shades of blue and orange, and the word "Nebula" spelled in brighter letters. It had rained earlier, in the hours before they arrived by cab, and the puddles out on the street and water droplets still on the cars outside reflected the light from the sign in an interesting display, and for a moment it looked like the street was part of the decorations. An awning stretched from the entrance, with a line of people stretching around the corner of the block, and two burly bouncers stood at the doors. They would have waited in line.....if Rin didn't have a few VIP passes for the group, a fact which earned a lot of glares from the people in the line. No one in the group paid them any mind though, as they continued to walk into the club. There was a mid-length hallway, ending with a set of double doors, and music could be heard rumbling through them. Lin was the first to open the doors, and loud music immediately hit their ears.



People were everywhere, dancing on the large open space in the center of the giant room. Those that weren't dancing, were busy drinking at the bars (plural) or sitting at the dozens of tables, some on different levels towards the sides of the room, drinking, eating, or even making out with other attendees. The place was alive, it was vibrant, and the four friends immediately jumped in. Well......all except Daniel. It wasn't that he had a rod up his ass.....he just wasn't the sort of person to let go, unlike Lin Chris and Rin, who dove into the crowd to mingle and dance.

Siri showed her pass, stepping right in. Glares and ooes sent her way, she found a drink and mingled near the middle, easily blending in.
a few guys tried their luck but she shot them down...then a really cute brunette looking extremely nervous in a very modest minidress (irony itself) slipped by. Zeroing in, Siri slipped in beside her.
"Hey cutie. Need a friend?"
"I-I d-don't swing that way. N-nor do I do that..."
"Hey now. I can change you." She stuck her tongue out. "And I'm no whore. Just a girl looking for fun." She leaned in. "Nothing naughty. Just hang out and have a drinking buddy. Maybe sit on my lap and enjoy the view." She whispered. The girl opened her mouth once or twice...then Siei took her hand.
"C'mon. Dance with me."

The poor girl just went with it finaly, face flushed as Siri began to dance with her.

Lin stood in the middle of the crowd of people, just thrashing about as she danced, head bouncing back and forth on her shoulders as she let herself drift to the music. A few people tried rubbing against her, but she moved away, wondering if Siri was there or not.

Soon enough the girl was on Siri's lap, still shy but nursing some cocktail. Siri stroked her back, listening ro her rambling. She giggled a bit. "Calm down sweetie..."

There. Lin.
"Hey..."
"I...um...so...c...can I..kiss you?"
Siri looked at her. "I wasn't planning on anything that far at all." She grinned though, kissing the girl's cheek. "Now...I have buisness to do..." she gave her a small hug. "Why don't you go home? This place doesn't suite you." She kissed her cheek again. "Alright?"
"...you're...really nice." She slid off Siri. "C..can I....call you?"
Siri stood. "If we ever meet again, then I'll give you my number. Alright?"

The girl gone, Siri headed for Lin, stalking her girlfriend through the crowd.

As Lin continued to dance, Chris and Rin stayed close together, mostly looking for Lin, and still having a good time as they danced.

Siri slid in behind Lin, moving her arms to the woman's hips and leaned in to whisper into her ear.
"You're personal slave has arrived Lin. All ready to be yours forever." She ssaid softly, moving with Lin. "Hope ypu like my dress. I made a last minute chanfe babe."

Sadly for Siri.....she did not in fact latch herself onto Lin. Instead, she had her arms wrapped around Rin, who was like her sister trained in martial arts. Immediately, she reached up a hand to grab Siri's wrist and twist her hand, painfully, off of her and moved away. "Who the hell are you?" she demanded.

Siri yelped. "Owowowow! Im sorry I thought you were Lin owowo!" She whipered. "Saoirse! Saoirse, or Siri! I'm Lin's idiot girlfriend I swear."

"Who?" Rin demanded, not recognizing the name. To be fair.....Lin rarely said a thing about her personal life. Lin was derailed from her dance when, as the music switched tracks, she heard the familiar sound of Siri's voice, pained. So she stopped dancing and sprang towards the voice, moving through the crowd until she saw Rin holding Siri's hand at an awkward angle. "Rin! Let her go!" Lin cried out. Rin looked up, and did just that.

Siri whimpered, then flung herself onto Lin. "Why didnt you mention Rin was identical?" She panted softly. She pressed against Lin, actually a bit teary. "Im sorry i fucked up." She said to both of them.

Rin sighed, shaking her head. "Let's get off the dance floor for starters. Come on, there's a free table over here," she said, guiding Lin and Siri to a round table, off the dance floor and with one long, curved seat. Sitting them down, she started with the first question. "Okay.....who the hell is she?" she asked, and Lin blushed. "Rin....this is Siri, my girlfriend. And Siri....this is Rin, my twin sister."

Siri clung to Lin. "Saoirse Monroe...I...Im sorry about that..." she hide her face in Lin's neck. "I didnt know you were twins..." she wjimpered. "Your judo hurts..."

"That's the point," Rin said. "Why she never said anything is beyond me but.....it looks like you both have some catching up to do. I can see it in your eyes, the way you look at each other." Lin smiled slightly, and Rin got up. "I'm going to go dance some more. Need me for anything else......good luck finding me."

Siri nodded. Once Rin was off, she looked to Lin, brushing the red wig hair away. "So..I..Im not sure where to begin."

"You can start with an apology for practically assaulting my sister with your lips," Lin said, rather annoyed. "Honestly, I know she's my twin and all, but come on. Thought people knew when the person they loved was in front of them."

"I'm so sorry Lin. I'll do anything you want, even if it's going to cost me every shree od eignity I have." She said without hesitation.
