| ------ Brief background/Info
The game was released in the real-world year 2010. It is now 2027. Players find themselves in this game as their avatar, with no memory of the past 24 hours. - Game Related:
The game is set in 2240, 92 years after a nuclear war wiped out most of the inhabitants of Davora. After the war, survivors slowly flocked together as the radiation levels decreased. Inevitably, different settlements began competing for food, water and other resources, usually escalating into armed conflicts. Around fifty years later, the soldiers known as Mercenaries first started appearing; much more skilled than survivors, and with the indispensible ability to come back from the dead, they quickly became the main combatants in Davora, waging wars against survivors, mutants and themselves.
Notable Events: (These events can still be replayed in-game, but as far as the lore goes, this is what happened. All of these are sequences of Operations and raids carried out by players, and the companies mentioned were the first to complete the final raid.) Note: The timeframes are in-game time, not real time.
Razing of Old Davora (2010) - From 2198 to 2200, platoon sized groups of Mercenaries invaded and destroyed a massive mutant hive in the ruins of Old Davora and the metro tunnels beneath. It ended when the Mercenary company "Omega Missive" detonated a forgotten nuke.
Nuclear Crisis (2014) - In 2202, a cult originating from Davora's polar regions found an abandoned Missile Launch Facility, containing twelve unfired nuclear weapons. They had intended to use these weapons to 'ascend', or completely obliterate what was left of Davora. It ended when the company "Golden Claw" massacred the cultists and destroyed the launch facility in 2205.
Civil War (2013-2014) - In 2203, Omega Missive, now the second largest guild, began a landgrab against Golden Claw. This 'war' lasted up until 2210, when the leaders of both companies were assassinated, almost bankrupting them.
Naval Superiority (2015) - In 2211, several of the larger settlements on the North West islands discovered a large Naval base, with a large number of Naval vehicles and the schematics to build them. They began raiding the mainland settlements of Davora, before being defeated by the "Cry of the Black Birds" company after five years. Naval weapons were then made available to companies.
The Plague (2017) - In 2220, a mysterious disease spread through the survivors, spread by several leaking Biological Weapon sites. In some creatures, this caused horrific mutations and birther monsters known as Abominations. Four years later, Omega Missive managed to shut down the largest of the sites.
Defence of Darktown (2019)- In 2225, several months after Omega Missive shut down the Bio-Weapon sites, Darktown, an underground settlement located in metro tunnels almost adjacent to the final weapon site was ravaged by Abominations. After five years, "Kiwi" entered the main nest and wiped it out with flamethrowers. Darktown was saved, but continues to suffer from Abomination raids.
Southern Conflict (2021) - In 2230, two growing Survivor factions, The Davoran People's Republic and The New Davoran Empire emerged in the south, with the former beginning in the desert region and the latter along the border between the urban and desert areas. They are referred to as "Communists" and "Fascists" by most neutral survivors and most players. Many Mercenaries took part in the war, fighting for one side or the other. The two most effective companies in this conflict were Cry of the Black Birds, allied with the Davoran Empire, and Kiwi, allied with the People's Republic. After four years, the war ended in stalemate; an uneasy ceasefire eventually being reached due to the devastating effects that the newly discovered aircraft had on civillian populations.
Pest Control (2023) - In 2234, radiation decreased enough in the woodland region that it could finally be explored. The creatures inhabiting this area were nightmarish monsters, requiring Mercenaries to launch a campaign of extermination in the area. After two years, it had succeeded in reducing the mutant's numbers, but failed to eradicate them, making night time incredibly dangerous in this area. "Pheonix Squad", a group of twelve individual players, was the most effective group during this battle.
Into the Abyss (2025) - In 2237, aquatic monsters began terrorising the islands, Naval units and much of the arctic and mainland Davora. For two years, until schematics for submarines and scuba-gear were found, all of the fighting was defensive for the Mercenaries, protecting what they could of the land. Once the schematics were found, so could the mutants. In 2239, "Pheonix Squad" destroyed the creatures Queen.
Players are known as Mercenaries, and NPCs are known as Survivors.
Towns are scattered throughout the world, with 4 major cities.
Companies are groups of players (i.e. Guilds). If a Company leader is killed via Assassination (Outside of a warzone) the company loses 1,000,000cR, and all on-going warzones are immediately lost.
A warzone is a territory that at least two companies are fighting over. Warzones have various methods of victory, including battles of attrition, capturing of bases, and assassination. If a warzone commander is killed, that warzone is lost and the company loses 100,000cR. If a Company leader is killed via Assassination (Outside of a warzone) the company loses 1,000,000cR, and all on-going warzones are immediately lost. In Warzones with civilians, it is up to the Company leader as to whether or not there are consequences for killing them; a fine (Decided again by the Company leader) taken directly from their cR count and given to the Company.
During a Warzone, enemy players can be taken as prisoners of war if your company has built camps to house them. If an enemy is taken as a prisoner of war, they will be locked to the camp for ten real-time days or until they can escape. Each prisoner a Company holds gives them a small income boost.
Occupation is when a Company wins a warzone. It only offers half of the income that an owned territory does, and only Forward Operating Bases can be established. Occupation lasts for three days, at which point it becomes owned by the company that captured it. Owned Territories give the Company controlling it a daily source of income and the ability to establish other types of base.
Respawning costs 10,000cR for independent, or 1,000cR if the player’s company revives them. Independent Respawning is done at the nearest town, while Company respawning is done at the nearest owned Base.
A fire team is a group of two to four players. If both you and your Company (Or if you aren't in a Compnay) do not have enough cR to respawn, your in-game character is permantly killed. A squad or section is a group of eight to twelve players. (Two or Three fire teams.) A platoon is a group of sixteen to 36 players. (Two or Three squads/sections.)
Missions are objectives given to players from NPCs (Quests). They cannot be completed in anything larger than a fire team. Bounties are Player vs Player objectives. During a Warzone, Commanders and Company Leaders can place bounties on enemy players. Neutral Mercenaries can collect this bounty by killing that player. Bounties for reaching a target amount of kills are placed by the system. Operations are objective based activities aimed at groups (Dungeons). An Operation can be attempted solo, as a fire team or as a squad/section. A raid can be attempted by a group up to the size of platoon.
- Environments:
There are several different environments on Davora and each environment affects several parts of gameplay, as does the weather.
Towards the south are harsh deserts, mostly empty though with several small villages throughout. Weapons jam more easily, Air support can be damaged, destroyed or prevented by sandstorms and there is little cover. This is where the third most Warzones take place.
Towards the north is the ice cap, completely devoid of any settlements. Weapon parts can freeze and jam and ground units can fall through the ice in some areas and there is very little cover. Snowstorms can also decrease visibility to near zero. This is where the least Warzones take place.
In the North West there are several islands dotted off of the coast, which are only accessible by air and sea vehicles. These islands are dotted with large towns leading outward into open countryside.
Towards the East is a large forest with no real settlements and several large clearings. There is ample cover, though footsteps can be heard much more easily. Leading into the desert and arctic areas there is wide, open scrubland. This where the second most Warzones take place.
The remainder of the playable area is a ruined megacity, with the areas edging with other types of environment fading into suburbs and wasteland.

-The Pink areas are the 4 major cities and the only 'safe-zones'.

As Kitty got better at the game, she started taking part in the game more and more, going so far as to help them capture territory. Back in reality, she went to school and talked about pointless things with her real-life friends. Once she left high school, she attended college, and then University, where she is now.
