Stella blushed and looked away.
"...she said no already..."

"Yeah I figured," James said smugly, settling back into the seat. "I know my sis, and that's definitely never changing." Rolling her eyes, Kat resisted the urge to slug her brother, even if it meant reaching through the car to do it. "Go on, get outta here," she said. "I've got work to do. We all do."

Stella merely looked at James.
"You know, James...spaghetti is also straight..." she smirks at Kat, winking. "Until it's wet."

"Gee, thanks Stella," James said sarcastically. "You've ruined Italian for both of us," Kat ended. "Now move." With that, she turned on her heel, leaving the car door to close on James and Stella. The car began pulling away, the driver already knowing where to go. It was slightly fancy, having a partition between the driver's seat and the rear where James and Stella sat. Beyond that though, it wasn't like a limo......there was no mini-fridge in the back for James to exploit. All that left him was an awkward amount of silence between him and Stella.

"Thank you. I'll go escort the dangerous man now." Gray would joke before turning on his heel and catching up to the masked man. "You might want to get cleaned up. Anyone would see you in that." Gray would warn but Marcus simply shrugged before turning to him.

"I've made her wait far to long. I can't do that any longer." He would say with a smile under his mask before turning into a shadow and leaving the area, rising up outside the building before running towards were they first were. "Coming Bell."

"God dammit." Gray would simply say before leaving the building himself. He had a wife to calm down and news to share. Good and bad.

The silence carried on, all throughout the ride back to the city. It made James uncomfortable, but he couldn't bring himself to break it. After all....at the end of the day, Stella was a girl. Oh sure he was burning with questions, mainly about his sister but his hormones and shyness kept his mouth firmly locked. By the time they did get back, it was already dark, and his phone started to ring. It was from Chris, so he answered without pause. "Yeah Chris?" he said. "James," Chris replied, "where've you been? One sec Amy was tracking your phone, the next you vanished off the grid. We even lost contact with Gestalt."

Wait, seriously? James asked Gestalt.

Yes, though I did not wish to cause you alarm. The vehicle we had traveled in before differed from this one, in that it was able to cut off my ability to connect to the web. Phone signals were blocked out, thus I became isolated. This vehicle however, does not possess such a function. Either that, or it was disabled.

Either way......that's not great to hear. What have we missed?

Tapping into the web now. Not much, considering it's been an hour.

"James, are you still there?" Chris asked, breaking him from his mental chat. "Listen, Amy says shes narrowed down Rebecca Cohen. I'd probably get a move on if I were you."

Gray would ponder in the taxi for a bit on what he would tell Diane. That their daughter was possibly alive, that the crazed killer he hunted for a while was back and a somewhat not crazy killer anymore. So many damn things and the name the kid gave him. Marcus, it drove daggers though his heart more then what Diane could hope to imagine in her killer moods. "Oh god dammit."

Marcus would make his way though the streets, doing his best to avoid being seen or anything. He knew a general location but that wasn't enough, he went to go for his phone and found blood smeared on the screen, now noticing the occasional black dots that came with the red. Dried blood it seemed. Wiping it away with some spit he would keep it on hand just in case Rev made a call. If not then he would have too, this monster maker much like the man before needed to be stopped one way or another.

"Found them? Alright.....tell her to send Gestalt the location, we can take it from there," James said. Scooting over to the partition, he rapped his knuckles against the glass until it rolled down. "Yeah?" the driver asked. "Think you can drop me off here? I've got somewhere I need to be."

"Orders were to deliver you home," the driver said. "Same goes for the girl." Shaking his head, James said "Drop her off home after me, but please let me out here now. Otherwise I'll jump out of the car myself." That seemed to grab the driver's attention, considering they knew who and what James was. "Fine. But if I get chewed out for this I'm coming for you."

As the car pulled up beside the sidewalk, James scooted back to the door. He cast a glance back towards Stella and said "I'll call later.....so we can talk about this." Without waiting for a response, he opened the door and left. The location Amy had sent Gestalt finally came through; underground in the subways, several blocks away. There was a subway entrance he could use to get down.....but finding a way to get into the tunnel proper would be difficult.

Paying the driver, gray would take a step outside the cab and walk towards the door, using his key to open it, he would find the sweet smell of sweet cakes filling his nose. A trait in his wife was cooking and was about the only thing that kept her calm. That and the two cats she insisted lived with them, she just plucked them from the street when they were kittens and nursed them back from what could have been considered death. "Thank go.. She's in the kitchen." That was a scary thought.

Marcus grew tired of running and moved to a slow paced jog, looking at street names he would find himself closing in on.. Or that was. "Shite." He was following the wrong street. Panic hiding and running must have kept him from focusing right. Or that's what he wanted to tell himself, the truth was a bit more bloodier. "Bollocks. I'm lost." These words made him realized he needed his friendly neighborhood Nano man/ GPS Man. And just as quickly he brought the bloodied screen to his view and bgan looking for contacts.

James headed down the stairs into the subway terminal, noting the lack of people. By now there was usually dozens of people taking the subway line.....until he remembered that the subways were closed until the source of the mutants was found and stopped. As a precaution, the city had locked the place down, the usual fencing put up over the entrance that led straight to the platform. But James had a key; now out of sight, he shifted into his suit and held a hand to the lock. Nanites poured into it as a tendril from his hand to the keyhole, moving around inside until the lock popped open.

While he did that, he decided it was now or never to call Shadow. So he did.

Just as he almost pressed the green key, His phone started to vibrate and he answered the call. Bringing it to his ear. "Shadow Services. You bring the monster I bring the shadows. May I take your order?" Marcus would joke though the phone as he looked around. he didn't actually catch the name of the person who had rung him. Hopes to it being Bella rather then Rev but him ringing helps.

"Shadow," Revenant said, ignoring the sarcasm. "I've got a bead on where the mutants are coming from, and especially on who's making them. Heading down there now......but I'd rather we not have to try and meet in the subway. I'm texting you the address, you've got ten minutes to get here before I go down there myself."

"Revanant. Just go. Be careful and go invis till you make contact and keep an eye for Shifter. I'll be their as fast as I could." Marcus's voice would go serious at Rev's words and he hung up to wait for the text. "Got you now."

Sighing, he sent the address for the terminal he was waiting at. The problem was that, it wasn't where the mutants were being made; he just didn't want Shadow to end up lost trying to rally with him from a different terminal. So for now, he waited.

As soon as Marcus got the text he looked up the location and started sprinting, his care for the pain ignored as he went on in a full sprint. Kill monsters, capture maker, save Bella, Return her to Dad. Go home, eat something. Sleep. The plan shifted though his mind as he looked back to the phone, looking at the address once again. Thank god he went the way he did, if he went the right way he would have had a much longer run to take before reaching where Rev would be sending him.

Screw it, James thought. Gestalt, get ready; we're going in. So be on alert. With that, Revenant proceeded down into the subway. It was pitch black for starters, the power being cut since no one was going to be using it. So his vision switched to thermal, the world around him awash in hues of black, white and gray.

You'll need to head down to the terminal itself, Gestalt said, marking the way forward. From there, descend to the subway tracks and follow the line until the next checkpoint, that will lead us to an access point used for municipal maintenance.

Alright. Think there'll be anymore mutants?

Hard to say. Based on our analysis of the samples you obtained, each one was speed grown yes but that is still in a matter of days, not hours. Rebecca would not have had enough time to replenish the pack she let loose.

Good, so really we're just facing her.

Her....or at least one mutant. It would take less time to grow one; analysis of the packs' genetics, shows they were all roughly the same age, which means they were grown at the same time. Divergence of resources would have taxed the growth rate, as opposed to more focused efforts.

Now you tell me this....

After some time, Marcus would finally make it to where the message had sent him at the cost of feeling more then half dead and tired as hell itself. "Never... Running... That much... again." Marcus would say in-between long deep ragged breaths. Taking a deep breath once more, Marcus entered the station and moved into the dark corridor, his vision taking a momentarily blackness before lighting up a little and his body feeling refreshed.

This is what we needed. Darkness, all so much Darkness. Dark would say as Marcus continued on, hoping he didn't get too lost in here.
