| Name: Marcus Murand Age: 38 Race:Human(White) Skills:Heavy Weapons Specialist, Marksman, silent warrior, efficient and deadly Weapons:BR55, C90 CAW Shotgun, SPNKr Rocket Launcher, frag grenades Rank: Master Sergant Type: ODST Marine Role:Demoltions, Sniper and Recon Theme Song:"Kryptonite" 3 Doors Down, "Livin' on a Prayer" Bon Jovi, "Catalyst" Linkin Park, "Photograph" Nickelback Screenshot:http://www.bungie.net/stats/reach/playermodel.ashx?rpis=ref$D-CvlCpqq06a4XkFPA== Motto:"Lupta pina la ultima suflare" (english: Fight to the Last Breath) Unit: Bravo Company, 57th ODST Battalion Insignia: Crossed Broadswords Current Location: UNSC Resolute, Sol system Current Status: Fed up with the HIGHCOM Biography: Born in 2514, Marcus was not exactly the average kid. His parents, both raised in rural communities, gave Marcus all he could in the world. His mother spoke native Romanian and fluent English, and his father also spoke Romanian and English, and had never really learned much about his migrant grandparents. With his farming background, Marcus had the physique of a large bear going into basic at eighteen, impressing the instructors enough that they persuaded him to go into the ODSTs. He did and was one of the best marksmen in his class and proved to be a quick study in demolitions and heavy weapons.
He was first assigned to the 42nd ODST, when his unit sustained heavy losses at Jericho VII. After that he was assigned with multiple units with various positings in the UNSC. He eventually climbed to his current rank of Master Sergant, and his current unit posting on the UNSC ship Resolute at Sol. As one of the older men in his regiment, he feels a little out of place amongst younger, inexperienced ODSTs. His motto pays tribute to his parents culture and to his background as a veteran ODST operator. The crossed swords emblem is the unit insignia, which has a reputation of being hard fighters.
(Note: He tends to be quiet and reserved when he is not on the frontlines. In the thick of the action however, he can be very talkative, but always sticks to the job at hand. Also, you might want to give him a little less explosive ordinance, tends to be overzealous with it. And he HATES to be kept waiting. Doesn't have a good opinion of HIGHCOM, though this may be to experinces at Jericho VII that he refuses to mention to anyone.
Medical Note: Supposedly suffers from PTSD after Jericho VII engagement. Has been cleared by various medical personnel to be completely sane. We doubt that, but his record as a reliable operator is good for his sanity support. He gets the job done, and doesn't question a thing. Though that maybe different than the views of his fellow ODSTs) -UNSC Intelligence Report

| Video Recording of Initial Psychological evaluation of Pfc. Murand
(Three doctors come at sit down at a high round desk)
(Pfc. Marcus Murand comes in and salutes)
Reporting as ordered, sirs
(Clears throat) Doctor 1: Sit down, Trooper
(Marcus sits down at a table in the middle of the room)
Doctor 1:Please state your name, rank, and former unit
Private First Class Marcus Murand, A Company 42nd ODST Battalion, sir
Doctor 2: Have you had any previous traumatic experiences, Pfc. Murand?
No Sir, not at all, sir.
Doctor 3: Any nightmares or episodes since Jericho VII, Pfc. Murand?
Yes, sir. No episodes as of yet sir. All I have had are nightmares, sir
(Aside)
Doc 1:Should we claim this as PTSD?
Doc 3: Nonsense. This is normal, perfectly sane behavior.
Doc 2: But he said he did have nightmares. But the lack of a psychological episode leads me to think this may not be PTSD.
But put him through relentless combat situations and even a hardened ODST will have an episode.
Its our call to see if he is mentally capable of handling himself in combat. And he seems mentally capable
I agree, he's sane enough to be put back into action.
This decision of yours may backfire in the long run. I stand by it, but not whole heartedly.
Maybe we should give him a different posting. This one would be too traumatic for him and may bring about an an episode faster than if we transferred him.
Thats an agreeable solution.
I can at least agree on that. But it may only be a temporary solution.
But it is a solution.
Agreed. Lets give the soldier our order, but have him watched if we do this.
Agreed, we need to have him watched, see if he starts exhibiting any syptoms of PTSD.
Alright, we give him a watch via random psychological evaluations.
(Doctors turn back to Marcus)
(Clears his throat) Doc 1: Alright Pfc. Murand, it seems you do check negative for PTSD. We clear you for future combat.
Doc 3: But, we feel that you may have problems in the future, so we are giving you psychological evaluations in your future operations.
Doc 2: However the fact that we did clear you, there is one note we want you to know.
What is it, sir?
Doc 2: We thought it best to transfer you to a different unit than the 42nd. Clearly, we thought that keeping you in the 42nd would bring about PTSD episode faster than if transfered. It was a colluctive decision between myself and my two colleagues who agreed that this would be the best for your mental health.
So, sir, I'll be in combat, but not with the 42nd?
That is the decision, Private.
Yes, sir thank you sir
(Marcus salutes)
Dismissed, Private
(Marcus turns on heel and leaves the room)
(Two doctors leave the room)
(One doctor remains in the room)
(Regretfully) Doctor 1: *I hope that this decision doesn't come to haunt me*
(Leaves the room)

| O.D.S.T. Training Facility, Undisclosed Location August, 2554
Major: What do you make of the new class, Marcus?
(Skeptical) I honestly don't know WHAT to make of it, sir
Major: Marcus, we're both veteran O.D.S.T's. You can afford to be a bit informal with me here. Be honest with me here, Master Sergeant.
Well, its a 'unique' class of Helljumpers, to say the least.
Major: Indeed it is, Marcus.
(Thoughtful) I don't know what to make of the female cadet.
Major: Private Black...yes, she's not your typical O.D.S.T.
She's getting a hard time from the other D.I.'s.
Major: I know, I know. They're old school O.D.S.T's, and that's what's making it inevitable.
I know, but it doesn't mean I have to like it.
Major: Understood, Marcus. Just do you job, and let me do mine.
Aye, aye. (Mischieviously) I get to be thier worst nightmare.
=I head out of the room grinning=
Welcome to Hell, ladies and gentelmen... | |
