Biography: Born in 2526 on the planet of Madrigal, Gonzalez lived there with his family until he reached the age of 2. That was when Madrigal was glassed by the Covenant. His parents and several others managed to escape the glassing, and sought refuge on The Rubble.
There Gonzalez grew up until the year 2535, when yet again his home was under attack. The Battle of The Rubble began, and on their way to safety on Habitat Exodus his parents were killed, struck down by a Zealot who then turned towards Gonzalez who had shot it with an ancient 20th century revolver and picked him up by the throat. Seconds later, a squad of ODSTs ran into the room after hearing the yelling, and opened fire on the Zealot, causing him to drop Gonzalez. The Zealot was killed, and the ODSTs took Gonzalez to safety.
The next nine years Gonzalez spent alone, going from foster home to foster home. His entire past, unknown to everyone but himself. All he had were the memories from the Battle of The Rubble, and the revolver. When the ODSTs had rescued him, they tried to get him to drop the gun and leave it, but he said "its all I have left...", which made the troopers change their minds. He had managed to keep the revolver hidden from all his foster homes throughout the years, and sometimes would just stare at it and get lost in the memories of that event.
At 18, as standard for all Foster Care children, Gonzalez was enlisted in the UNSC Marine Corps. After his first 2 year term, he decided he had nothing else he could really do with his life and reenlisted. He then volunteered to go through selection and training to become an Orbital Shock Drop Trooper, the very same soldiers who rescued him, and due to his almost-natural skill at precision shooting, Sgt(at the time) Gonzalez went through NAVSPECWAR Sniper School.
Gonzalez has participated in several battles throughout the Human-Covenant War, including the Battle of Skopje, where Gonzalez along with several other ODSTs were sent to defend the headquarters while civilians and machinery were evacuated. In 2549, Staff Sgt. Gonzalez and his platoon, along with another platoon of Marines were sent to Paris IV to defend the main evacuation complex long enough to evacuate everyone.
During the Siege, the Marines who were defending the eastern enterance into the complex were being overwhelmed, and asked for some assistance. The ODST's platoon leader told Gonzalez and 4 others to go and help the Marines on the other side of the headquarters. Upon arriving, the ODSTs saw that there was only a small squad left, less than a dozen Marines. Gonzalez got to an elevated position and made it easier for the Marines down below to get themselves together. About 2 hours into the firefight, Gonzalez's platoon leader had radioed in to let them know that their evac was on the way and that they should head back ASAP. Gonzalez acknowledged, and told his fellow ODSTs to head back, and that he would stay here to help the last remaining Marines. Seconds later, the West side was bombarded by Covenant fire, shaking the ground everywhere. Gonzalez tried to get ahold of his platoon leader, but had no luck. About another half hour passed, and a pair of Pelicans came down. Several Marines The evacuation was complete, at the cost of dozens of lives, thousands were saved. Gonzalez was promoted to Gunnery Sgt. for his actions.
