Moderators and their station

OPTION 1

I think the mods should be cycled.

2-3 people will be Mods, they will be cycled regularly. Everyone has a fair chance of becoming a Mod.*

Moderators will be cycled every 3-4 weeks, or once a month. The Admin must be online during this voting period.

you will be given 3-5 days at the end of the month or the last week of the cycle. During these 3-5 days The Mods must be removed from their station and temps be set up during those 3-5 days.

The Temps during these 3-5 days will not be eligible to be voted for, to be Mods for the next month or 3-4 week time period.

*Unless you attempt to sway the vote in your favor. the punishment for this will be temporary or permanent removal from the voting list. At the Admin's discretion.

If you believe someone is trying to sway things in their favor, whether it be through Private Messages, through the Chat, or right here on the poll, speak up. If you don't you are allowing someone to be a Mod when they shouldn't be.

If you believe someone is trying to sway the vote, try to make a compelling case, All claims will be followed through by the admin.

What do Mods do?

They Moderate the Chat. This means they need to be fresh on what the rules are in the chat box.

The Forumotion rules clearly state that:
No pornographic material shall be posted on the chat, or on the website.
No threatening other users in the chat, or on the website.
No insulting or overly criticizing other users on the chat box, or on the site.
No racism

etc.

If a Mod is not doing their job they can be removed from their position.

If you feel a mod is not doing their job you have to make a compelling case, this means you need to state examples and provide what you believe to be proof.

Who do you report to? The Administration.
If the Administration disagrees with you, he must explain why and do so clearly.

Where can you find the next election time? in the Calendar. This means that all the dates have to be preset.

Mods should also be frequently reminded to not be biased when it comes to their decision making, if they feel they cannot be un-biased in a situation that calls for Moderation then they should step down and remove themselves from the vote.

as for cycling not sure about that rest no issue

I'm going to withold my vote for now, and here is why:

I think this wouldnt work. It's a lot of effort for something that should be inherant: Mods (and Admins) being fair. If they aren't, they should be removed. Simple as that.

That said, I would not be entirely opposed to the idea of a rotation of the mods once, as I do feel that some people have demonstrated that they would be capable of being a mod, and some have been since the beginning for better or worse.

If you have any recommendations on how to fine tune this idea, I'm willing to hear it.

I believe it is fair to ask why you believe the Mods should either be cycled, or simply changed. If it sounds like a biased question, I can fully understand why, considering that I am a Moderator. So this is not me asking as a Mod, (though I suppose saying that doesn't really enforce that statement) this is me asking as a user, and a member of this site for well over a year now.

Basically, some people are feeling that the old problems among users are still going on, and that the Mods are still taking part in the old fights, and that they have done some things now as well as in the past that we should change the Mods.

Thats a shitty way of explaining it, but I hope you get the gyst at least.

(*I say Active for all because there is currently a thread in the Ideas Board to restart the FORP)
