| Subject: Vote For The Halo 4 RP 13/11/12, 06:47 pm | |
| Well, here it is. The voting for the Halo 4 RP. All the ideas can be found in this link here: http://www.haloroleplay.com/t820-sen-s-idea-for-a-halo4-rp-multiple-people-added-stuffs Or, if for some reason that link won't load ect, here are the ideas. - Idea 1:
Idea 1: The Forerunner Device
Around the same time Master Chief is woken from Cryo onboard the UNSC Forward Unto Dawn a small group of three surviving UNSC ships come across an unknown Forerunner artifact drifting in space. The UNSC Alcatraz (A Frigate) sends a Pelican to investigate, however, it is destroyed as it attempts to ‘go through’ the artifact. While the three ships observe the artifact, the Storm Covenant Ships which they had escaped arrive via Slip space. Alcatraz, knowing they can’t fight off the now arriving ships, attempts to go through the artifact, which they have nailed down to be some sort of portal. They manage to go through successfully. The Second Ship, (Another Frigate) Big Ben takes damage, however is covered by the third and final ship (A Destroyer) UNSC Hollow, and therefore also makes it through. However, Hollow is destroyed and fails to make it through. The small band of five Covenant ships then also follow through into the Portal, attempting to stop the Humans getting hold of whatever Forerunner technology lies ahead.
Several Days later, UNSC Eternal arrives at the site of the small conflict. Upon arrival, they send a Pelican to investigate the wreckage of Hollow, which comes back on information regarding the Pelican, and the Covenant ships that attacked. Yet, the artifact is different to original reports, it is much smaller, unable to fit a cruiser, destroyer, any kind of ‘big’ ship in. Eternal, then sends it’s onboard Spartan IV’s, Marines, ODSTs, as well as Onboard Elites in an attempt to help further build on the Human-Sangheili Relationship, into the ‘Portal’ onboard several Pelicans. The first of the Pelicans is damaged, but manages to make it through, the rest getting through fine.
There is one problem, however. This ‘Portal’ as it was described by the crew on board Hollow seems to have its ‘receivers’ at several different points, meaning the Pelicans didn’t, well arrive together. The same can most likely be said about The UNSC Ships as well as the Covenant ones.
- Idea 2:
Idea 2: The Insurrectionists
The Spartan IVs are deployed against the insurrection, which has regained strength and taken it’s chance to organise into one group while the UNSC is trying to recover from the Covenant War. The Spartans prove to change the war, again, and a squad is being prepared to assassinate the leader of the insurrection, General Alladeen. (Dictator FTW). The squad was suddenly pulled from the mission, and reassigned. They, along with many other Spartans, were sent to secure what looked like a Forerunner artifact. The team found the location of a Forerunner world. Seeing this as an opportunity, Captain Samson of the UNSC Remember it Later, set course for the world, recalling the Spartan team.
Upon entry to the world, the initial recon team discovered Forerunner technology, mostly intact, and reported this back to the ship, before contact was lost.
Spartan team Warhorse, the fast response unit of the Remember it Later, was deployed soon after, with orders to recover the recon team or find out what happened.
Team Warhorse has 3 Sections, each containing 4 Spartans. Blue Team: Alexis S-631 (leadership specialist, except in bed) -Blue team Leader
Red Team:
Green Team: Lyra S-309 (Long Range Specialist) -Green team Leader
With Warhorse deployed, The Remember it later deployed it’s marines to establish a firebase on the ground, and to provide support for the Spartans if they needed it. It is also worth noting, in an attempt to help build better relations with the ‘alien races’, small groups were allowed to follow with the the Spartans and the Marines firebase.
The planet is varied, with large oceans covering it. The continent that the UNSC’s forces landed on is mostly Jungle and Swamp. There is also a large clearing near the Firebase, which appears to be the site of a Forerunner town or village, and is also the site of an unexplored Facility, which is where the Recon team went missing.
- Idea 3:
Idea 3: The Simulator
(Note, this idea hasn’t really had much though, because it’s an odd type.)
Several teams of Spartan IVs are deployed in what is known as the ‘Training Area’, which is a pretty simple name. The teams are set various objectives, securing prisoners, Capturing the enemy base, wiping the enemy out.
CTF- Flags must touch to count as a cap --Eliminations: One “Life,” 5min time limit. 1 cap win --Standard: Three caps, round resets on a cap. 3min rounds --Mobile: the flag is a prototype vehicle with unique properties, able to be driven around. Enemies must secure the flag by taking it and driving it to the other vehicle. 1 cap wins, 30min timer
Assault- objective must be placed within correct area --Flags: Plant your flag in the enemy base. --Demolition: Detonate the enemy base’s reactor through any means necessary --Evac: Carry a ‘wounded’ soldier to the evac zone. Must be within the zone as the timer hits. --Infiltration: One or more soldiers must get to a zone within enemy base. Other soldiers do not matter. Infiltrator has one “life” --Horde: 30 minutes, one sided, defenders have one “life” attackers have no limit. Those ‘killed’ must go back to their starting area and wait for ten seconds once in starting area. Attackers only need to touch the flag to win
Skirmish- Kills based --Reinforcements: The team that has the most live soldiers at the end of 15min wins --Engagement: Standard deathmatch --Objectives: random objectives from any other simulation will appear at random times. No time limit, go until all soldiers are dead --Specialist: A single random soldier is given the option to choose three weapons from the table. Everyone in the simulation must use one of those three weapons. --Adaptation: Each soldier is assigned a random weapon. They must use that weapon until they run out of ammo, then they must pick up the next weapon they come across.
Themes- Entire scenarios based around one idea --Rebel assault/defend: Attacking a rebel base/defending from a rebel attack, essentially fighting human targets --Covenant assault/defend: same as rebel a/d, only with covenant instead --Unknown hostiles assault/defend: same as other, but with a randomly generated enemy species used. A hostile first encounter simulation, so to speak --First encounter: Randomly generated species open diplomatic ties, with their own social stigmas and tolerances. There may be language barriers, depending on what the generator says. Tasked with maintaining a good relation with the species for a certain amount of time. Grade will be on how well they responded, how much they learned, and how long it lasted
Ender’s Game: Young kid who is determined to be the...well, savior of mankind. He'll kill off the enemies who are threatening our existence. So, they (those in charge) take him to military training school now what they do is, control all the events in the school, even those outside of the simulation rooms to condition and tain him into what they need him to be so they set up fights between him and other kids, conflicts with those in his squad and those in other squads pair him up with people who have the personality needed to shape him
basically, we do that with a squad in this
- Idea 4:
Idea 4: The Crucible While out on an exploratory mission to the reaches of the Milky Way Galaxy, to sectors previously uncharted, the UNSC frigate Star Oddessy comes upon what appears to be a Planet of some sort, approximately half the size of Earth's Moon. Initial scans from orbit report that the planet is Hollow, mostly Mechanical, and contains some form of intelligence, natural or artificial, inside. The Oddessy spends several weeks in orbit, trying to unlock the planet's secrets. They record all the data they can, but something is amiss. All comms are absolutely fried, save for the ship's internals and short-range personal comms. Eventually, the Planet begins to shift. A large area on the Surface in the rough shape of a Hexagon begins lowering into the ground, and pulls apart, revealing a tunnel. Having no idea how long the gate will be open, the captain orders the ship through. Inside, they discover a brightly-lit megametropolis, sprawling with buildings and courtyards, highrises and ravines, fields and forests, and everything in between. But something seems strange about it. Each of these features seems to belong to an area with a certain theme to it, and these themed areas are not only placed as if over a Game Board, but are lit with white, Blue, and Red lights, and most are perfectly symetrical. The planet itself seems to have a huge ring around it's equator of black light, dividing the entire world into two symetrical halves. Just when they are ready to begin studying this strange place, a Covenant Battleship is seen on the opposite of the interior. Before they have a chance to react, a Comm Frequency is opened by a third party. The ships are guided to giant docks in the center of their respective sides of the interior, where they are shocked to find an armory of weapons and vehicles of neither Covenant nor Human design. A voice broadcasts over the comms again, informing both parties over a few-hour lecture that they have entered CONSTRUCT-128VA-9: THE CRUCIBLE. They are told that the world functions as a giant game board, where both forces are to fight to the death for control of each sector, gaining access to better weapons and vehicles as they progress, with the ultimate goal of taking over the enemy's entire planet-side, and wiping them out entirely. The sectors on the UNSC and Covenant halves of the world light up Red and Blue respectively, and the gates around the Dock open. Marines, Grunts, ODST's, Jackels, Sangheili and Spartans pour out onto the battlefield and begin the giant game of war that is The Crucible.
Notes: Each Sector is the approximate size of Skyrim's city of Whiterun. Some are Urban environments of seemingly Forerunner architecture, some are Rural and some are complete Nature. There are Forests, Suburbs, Canyons, Highrise Cities, Hills and plains, and everything in between. The closer to the Equator, the more natural things become, while closer to the Poles things become more Metropolitan, with some exceptions like villages and the like. The Weapons and Vehicles described are effectively Forerunner replicas of Human and Covenant equivilants. However, both sides are allowed to use whatever they brought in with them as well, with the exception of the Ships (the Frigate and the Battleship), or any weapons of mass destruction (nukes, atomic bombs, the like). Sentinals patrol the skies, but seem to not be doing much of anything. They do not interfere with the games at all.
Happy Voting.

| I won't lie and say that a Halo 4 RP is not appealing. But I think it's a bit soon to even be talking about one, within the same month that Halo 4 itself was released. Especially when the Spartan Ops stories are expanding on the events taking place after Halo 4.
Long story short: Open to the idea of a Halo 4 era RP, just not right now. | |
