Engagement in Alfold

Date: August 11th 2552
Place: Alfold, Ütközet Province, Viery Territory, Reach

The sun was slowly beginning to rise over the horizon. It didn't really matter if the sun rose in Reach anymore, the explosions and gunshots lit the planet up more than enough already, and soon this area would be filled with enough of both to blind anyone that entered.
"Sierra-064, we're coming up to your last stop." The pilot spoke calmly, with a bit of a spring in his words. He was clearly unaware that he was carrying an ONI mission in his cargo bay.
The large D77-TC Dropship was moving swiftly through the skyscrapers of Manassas, yet to be really hit by the violence of the war. It had been evacuated a while ago, and now the city was beautifully empty. Gideon couldn't wait to get his mission started.

"Here we go Spartan. I hope you enjoy your stay in Manassas, and I hope to see you again after you kick some ass."
The Dropships ramp lowered, and the large armoured soldier slowly moved his way down onto the streets. Empty. Beautiful. The ramp lifted up behind him, and the Pelican drifted off into the distance rapidly. Time to get started.

There was no time to waste. As Gideon moved through the city, his eyes flicking from his path ahead to his scanner, he could see the Covenant ships overhead slowly moving in. As he crouched down beneath an overhanging balcony, he opened up his comm and contacted his allies.

"This is Codename: Odin, reporting in location." He hoisted his large rifle up, and looked down the scope at the hills above. Phantoms were slowly weaving their way down out of the giant cruiser above.
"Visual on targets: confirmed." Two other comms opened up, and soon the communications started to pass through. A soft, calming voice spoke through the link. "This is Codename: Brahman acknowledging." A second voice, much coarser and rougher broke through on it's own link. "This is Codename: Zeus, acknowledging." Gideon nodded, stood, and began to move forward through the streets, closing in on the city center.

With heavy stomps, the armoured soldier finally made his way out into the center of the cities square. Taking cover beneath the cover of a nearby café, Gideon lifted up his rifle again, watching the ships close in on the city.
Checking on his radar, two single yellow blips appeared on opposite sides of the square. Looking over in those directions however, yielded nothing.
"This is Codename: Brahman. Visual on targets?"
Gideon obliged the comment, and zoomed in on the slowly descending ships. "Confirmed"
