ZRP-2: Chapter Two, Paradise in Hell

=While guards dropped like flies, Charles appeared out of nowhere, and took advantage of Andrew's bravado. SIG Sauer in hand, he squeezed off two shots, one missing but the other getting him right in the arm=

(James)
=I struggled to stand, the pain in my stomach bad but not crippling. I still had the knife, taking it out after stabbing Slate, and I looked to the door=
"Let's.....let's go."

=My voice was shaking=

(Sam)
"I'm fine, just a flesh wound!"
=I peeked around cover, and saw one of the guards edging back to a door, a pistol in hand, still firing off rounds. I loosed a burst at him but it missed, hitting the door=

Abel approached a town. It seemed to be pretty small, it didn't even look like it had so much as a gas station. He kept his shotgun on his back while keeping his sword out.
There's always zombies.
Number one rule.

Hibiki nodded. "If you can't walk, your chair. I'll go."

With that, Hibiki took position by the door. "Get ready."

=I screamed a curse as I grabbed my arm, my gun dropping like a stone=

GAAAAAAAAAAHHHH!

=I rolled down to the ground, and hard=

(James)
=Like Hell was I getting back in that chair. I was fine enough to walk, adrenaline pumping through me, as I took position opposite her at the door. That was when it opened, and Charles the bodyguard walked in, back to the room as his gun was trained on the villa's main room, shots flying from the weapon. I took the chance to jump him from behind, knife sinking into the spot between his neck and shoulders. He tried to spin and face me but that made the knife open a wider gash, and I clung on for dear life as he elbowed me in the ribs=

Hibiki shot him once in the chest.
"Fuck you too, Chuck."

=I get up on my one good elbow and try to right myself, hearing a gunshot=

Thanks for getting the fucker for me...

=I then hit the floor again, nearly passing out in pain=

Abel walked to the first house at the edge of town.
It was small, one story, white paneling.
the door was shut tight. He looked around for any Zombies, seeing nothing he tried opening the door, but it was locked. That's a good sign.
"Yes it is."
Abel went around back, finding another door, but that one was also locked.
He tried the windows too, but none were open. Now it was a good and bad situation.
On one hand there was a good chance there weren't any zombies inside. But there was the problem of even getting in. That is... with the least amount of vandalism possible, but that was looking pretty slim.

(James)
=He must have been fueled on adrenaline or something, because the one shot did not do a thing to stop him from elbowing me in the ribs. I tugged on the knife, pulling it through his neck as more blood spilled out, and he fell to his knees, a gurgling sound erupting from his mouth as blood flowed out of it like a waterfall. Then he fell, dead=
"Well....I'd say something but the knife was the best I had."

(Sam)
=The shooting stopped, the last of the guards dead. I got out from cover, and Saw James walking from the door that guy with the pistol walked through=
"James!"

=I ran towards him, and hugged the man when I got to him=

(James)
"Ooph! Sam, give me some space here...."
=But I returned the hug all the same. She was my friend, and I owed her that for coming to save me=

Hibiki came out, arm hanging. She was clutching her forarm, more for comfort. She sighed, blood on her face. "He's dead...." She looked at Sam. "Is she ok?"

A rock shattered the window, and Abel made sure no zombie was coming up behind him.
He stood on a trash can to get to the window he smashed. Abel meant to break a higher up window so that a walker couldn't climb in when he was trying to sleep. He threw his sword through the window before lifting himself up into it.

=I got up, and walked through the door holding my injured arm with my good one. I look to the dead body=

Good job for getting that sonuvabitch...

=I smile weakly=

Hibiki nodded. "James got him with the knife. Not that I didn't shoot him in the chest." She smiled sheepishly.

(Sam)
=I choked out a single sob of relief that he was okay, then turned to look at Hibiki=
"She's fine."

=Then I noticed the blood on them both, and my gaze fell on James' left hand......the stump where his little finger should have been=
"Oh my God....James, your finger."

(James)
"It's fine......just twinges a bit now is all."
=Actually it hurt like hell, and Slate shoving his thumb in there made it feel like there were ants swarming into the wound=

"I'll live, that's what counts. Everyone, you okay?"

(Sam)
"Just a flesh wound, I'll be fine."

*Cooper*
"We're okay James, though you're friend took some fire from Charles."

Hibiki smiled. "Let's go...Cooper, tell Clarissa it's done. I think we all deserve a lot of rest."

=I curse quietly under my breath=

Lucky prick.

=I wince a bit as I move my injured arm=

=As if on cue, the glass chandelier in the room just fell, right on top of one of the barely surviving guards, still struggling for life. He died. Everyone just paused to look at that for a moment=

*Cooper*
"Ya don't say....."

(James)
"Oh man, don't make me laugh it hurts too much. Just get me to a doctor so I can get this cleaned."
=I started walking forward, for the elevator=

Hibiki followed, then looked at Sam. "Go to Eve. Please make sure she's safe."

She then turned to James. "I guess our night of relaxation is off?"

=I look at my injured arm=

Charles should've killed me...

=I wince a bit=

Because I have a feeling Mira's going to be the one to put me in my grave.

(Sam)
=Wincing a little at the pain in my shoulder, I simply nodded, walking with them to the elevator. We all walked back to it, no one bothering to try and clean up the mess=

(James)
"Let me get some ice first Hibiki, then we'll see. Though I doubt you'll want anything to do with stubby here."
=Everyone piled into the elevator, Cooper thumbing the lobby button. You know, cramped elevator, recent gunfight, and me missing a finger....all of that might have just been bearable, if not for one thing=

"For the love of God, can I shoot the speakers? This music sucks."

Hibiki shoots the speakers out, then drops the empty gun.

(James)
"FUCK!!!"
=We all clutched our ears, the gunshot making us all go momentarily deaf=

(Sam)
"There is such a thing as sarcasm, Hibiki."

=I curse in German=

Sheisse!

=I cover my ear, the other one ringing like a bell=

"I have been punched in the gut, forced to strip, my husband lost his pinky, my daughter's girlfriend was shot, my husband's friend was shot, and I am sex-deprived. I swear to God I am not listening to fucking Dean Martin one more fucking time."

(James)
"Then shoot it when we're out of the damn box!"
=I wasn't yelling because I was mad, (though granted, yes I was mad) I was shouting because I was deaf to the point that I needed to shout to hear myself. The elevator finally stopped, and we walked out. Quite the sight we made: bloody, beaten, and armed for bear. Rumors were already going to be spreading, I was certain=

"To the medic!"

Hibiki sighed. "Go with him Andrew. Sam, take me to my daughter."

=I smile=

Yes, ma'am

=I follow James, my bad arm limp at my side=

Mira's going to kill me...

(Sam)
"Uh, you sure? This wound could do with being wrapped up."
=In truth, it wasn't that bad but I did not want to face Eve=

(James)
"Come on Andrew, let's get me some ice and you a bandage."
=We started walking for the hospital=

"Please...I just want to hold her right now..." Hibiki looked at Sam pleadingly.

=I sigh=

Thanks.

=I mutter a curse under my breath=

And that's my shooting arm too, dammit.

(Sam)
=Sighing, I yielded and walked with her back to my room. When I opened the door, I found Eve in the room like I said. I tried to hide the wound=

(James)
"Nothing's ever boring anymore, is it Andrew?"

Eve hopped up. "Mommy!" She ran over.
Hibiki dropped to a knee and held her tightly. Sam could see Hibiki crying.
"Go on Sam...Come back when you're good."
Hibiki refused to let her daughter go.

=I give a weak smile=

Nope...it never is...

=I sigh=

Though I sorely want it to be.

(Sam)
=Nodding, I left the room and headed for the bathrooms in the lobby. Reaching them, I stopped at the sink, glad there were still paper towels in there, and using a damp one to wipe away the blood. The wound was shallow, which made it a bleeder, so it looked worse than it really was=
Damn, that was a close one.

(James)
"Where's the fun in that?"
=We reached the hospital, and finding a doctor wasn't hard. They didn't ask questions, just got us some pain pills and bandages, cleaning the wounds. For Andrew, they still needed to remove the bullet, but that was going to be his problem. I was free to go=

=I smirk=

The fun in that, is that I live.

=I sit down and wait for the doctors to take out the bullet=

Hibiki and Eve stayed there for awhile before breaking apart; Eve sitting on her bed, waiting for Sam, and Hibiki going to wait for James.

=The doctors got the bullet out of his arm, cleaning and bandaging the wound. He was free to go=

(James)
=For the first time in days, I was walking. Oh it hurt like a bitch, but I was walking, the pain in my stomach reduced to a dull ache, my hand wrapped in a white bandage, and the pain there worse than the stomach wound. I got back to the hotel, walking into Sam's room, since I had a feeling Hibiki would be there=

=I screamed at the top of my lungs as they pulled out the bullet. The pain, however, would be much worse from Mira=

She's going to kill me..

=The doctors dismiss me, and I head to my room=

Eve looked up.
"She went back to her room a minute ago. She held me for a long time. Why is that?"

=I walk to my room, praying that Mira wouldn't kill me=

But boy is she going to be PISSED...

=I slowly reach the room and gently opened the door, bracing for a tirade=

(James)
"Something bad happened. Sam will explain the most of it, but.....Slate, kidnapped me and used me to lure Hibiki into a trap. We got out of it but....things were bad."
=I wasn't about to show the girl my hand. That was something you don't show kids, ever=

(Sam)
=I got back to the room to find James talking to Eve=
"James, go see Hibiki. She'll want to see you more than ever right now."

(James)
"Sam, good to see you."
=I stood back up, walking for the door=

(Sam)
"Good to see you out of that chair James."

(James)
"Thanks."
=I walked back to my room=

Eve jumped up and ran, hugging Sam tightly. "I was worried..." She buried her face in Sam's side. "You are ok?"

Hibiki stood and waited for him to approach her.

=I then open the door and make my way slowly into the room=

Please Dear god, have mercy on my humble soul...

=I inwardly brace for what was about to come=

(Sam)
"I'm fine eve, really."
=I returned the hug, all but crushing her against me=

(James)
=Walking into the room, slowly, I kinda stumbled into her arms, pulling her into a hug=
"God, let's not do that again."

Eve coughed. "Sam, I love you a lot, but please don't kill me. If you are, at least suffocate me in your breasts."

Hibiki hugged back. "Hell no."


"ANDREW, WHAT THE FUCK WERE YOU THINKING?"

(Sam)
=I chuckled, letting the girl breathe as I loosened the hug=
"Maybe when you're older."

(James)
=Breaking off the hug, I sat down at the bed, letting out a breath of exhaustion=
"Okay so Slate's dead, the jobs are done......looks like this is one alliance we can call made?"

=I feel myself pale, my body draining of color as my girlfriend came upon me with more righteous fury than Samuel L. Jackson did in 'Pulp Fiction'=

I'm a dead man...

I was thinking Charles wasn't there to put a bullet through my arm.

=I raised my voice a bit, trying to defend myself=

Eve sighed softly. "Do I at least get a kiss for you making me so scared?"

Hibiki sat beside James. "Yeah. One alliance."


Miranda was pissed.
She grabbed Andrew's ear and twisted. "Are you ever going to do that again?"

(Sam)
=Smiling, I gave her a kiss on the cheek=
"There, that good?"

(James)
"Seems worth a pinkie."
=I held my left hand in front of me, staring at the bandaged stump=

=I screamed a bit=

OW! OW! OW! OW! OW!

=I sigh=

NO! NEVER AGAIN! OWWWW!
