"Well I try, but then I remember that where I go you tend to go. And you've always been like the human multi-tool."

(Sam)
"Yeah I don't know this one....."

"...It's from Pinocchio..." Eve said.

Hibiki laughed. "True." She pulled three knives an MRE a bottle of water and a flare from somewhere on her person, as well as the hip pack she found on one of their stops on the way to Ownesboro.
"I'm a Japanese Army Knife."

(James)
"So......you're a katana?"
=I braced myself for any possible fallout from the comment=

(Sam)
"If you say so."

"Yep." Hibiki replied with a laugh.

"...I kinda...wish it was raining..." Eve said softly.

(Sam)
"Why? We'd both get a cold."
=Then I grinned at her=

"And if you were hoping to see me all wet, I've still got my bra on. And the shirt's a bit thick."

(James)
"So, should we check and see if there are any candles?"

"Uh....I...wanted to...kiss in the rain actually..." Eve looked away. "I don't need to wish for rain to see your breasts. I can just ask."

"Yeah. You check upstairs I'll check downstairs?"

(James)
"Spare a light?"

(Sam)
"Ha, ask......you're going to have to work for it now Eve."

Eve groaned. "Sam! No fair!"

Hibiki passed him a lighter. "I kept a few from St Louis."

(James)
=I looked from the lighter to her, then back again=
"Was hoping for a flashlight but okay. Watch your step."

=Flicking the flame on, I started walking up the stairs, a dull orange glow the only light I had=

(Sam)
"All's fair in love and war."

Eve whimpered. "Meanie."

Hibiki stuck a flashlight in his hand. "Thought you meant for lighting candles." She sighed and went about searching.

(Sam)
"Yeah well, I can be a bit of a bitch at times."

(James)
"Oh now you hand me a flashlight."

Eve goes onto her tiptoes and kisses Sam. "I guess I'll have to fix that."

Hibiki rolls her eyes. "Geeze."

(James)
"Let's pray to god this isn't going to end like that scene from Psycho."
=I shouted that down to her as I climbed the stairs, half expecting a crazy cross dresser to come out and stab me=

(Sam)
=My cheek tingled from the kiss, and I smiled=
"Yeah well I look forward to it."

"You have a gun!" She shouted back. "Stop acting so weird!"

Eve sighed. "Ok."

(James)
"I'm trying to be funny dammit."

(Sam)
=We resumed walking through town=
"So, you and Sarah seemed.....friendly."

"She knows what I went through, I understand the hell she endured. It's kinship...us being friends...it makes sense. Someone who'll understand..."

Hibiki laughed. "Well fine. If said person does jump out at you, you better not fall in love with them!:

"Yeah fall in love with the person trying to stab me. Like that'll ever happen."

(Sam)
"Yeah well I saw the way you two looked together."
=Was I really being jealous? Maybe=

"I only have eyes for you Sam." She put her hands to Sam's sides. "No matter what, you're the only one for me. So don't worry." She smiled. "I'm yours. Forever."

Hibiki chuckled. "Stranger things have happened!"

(James)
"What? Like you and me?"

(Sam)
"Good. Because I'd hate to have to tie you to the bed for a week, make you submissive to me."

"...can we do that anyways?" Eve asked.

Hibiki sighed. "Yep!"

(James)
"Wait...."
=I stopped dead on the final step of the staircase=

"You're saying the two of us together is weird?"

(Sam)
"Maybe. For now, just keep walking."

Eve kept on walking, a small spring in her step.

Hibiki chuckled. "How we met is weird. How we stayed together is weird...but us? No. Being together isn't weird. How it all came to be is."

(James)
"Huh, true enough. I guess the weird ones are always the best though, right?"

(Sam)
"Look at you, walking with that extra spring in your step."

Eve blushed. "...maybe is always better then no..."

"As if our relationship didn't prove that?" Hibiki called up, rummaging for candles.

(James)
"I always thought we were just very active, moving around from place to place."

(Sam)
"God, makes me wonder what would have happened if I said 'Hell yes.'"

"We ain't military though." Hibiki countered.

Eve giggled. "You'll never know now."

(James)
"Certainly getting close to one though!"
=I started rummaging through the closet on the second floor=

(Sam)
"I certainly won't."

"Close enough yeah." Hibiki admitted.

Eve taped Sam's nose. "Love ya."

(Sam)
"Love you too Eve."

(James)
"One can hope we get some semblance of a normal life later on."
=I paused in thought=

"Minus the zombies of course,"

Smiling, Eve glanced around. "I guess...time to go home?"

Hibiki yelled triumphantly. "Found some!" She called. "And any normal life in this hell is fine by me!"

(Sam)
"Only if you want to. I don't mind standing around for a bit longer."

(James)
=I managed to find a few candles in the closet. No matches though=
"Ditto!"

Eve nodded. "Ok. We can stand around a bit more."

""Awesome! Light them up and lets get the staircase illuminated!" Hibiki called up the stairs.

(James)
"Wait, how? I didn't see any candle holders, did you?"

(Sam)
"Nah.....lets just head back to the house."

"Just put them on the steps babe!" Hibiki sighed.

"Lead the way." Eve agreed.

(James)
"Got it. I'll melt the tips a bit so they're more secure."
=I walked back to the stairs, kneeling down and melting the bottoms of the candles so they wouldn't fall over. Planting the first down on the top stair, I lit the tip, and was illuminated by the warm glow=

"One down.......thirty to go. Fuck me....."

(Sam)
"Got it, but you walk next to me. I don't want you grabbing onto my pants like last time."

"I aim to take them off in bed silly." Eve teased, but walked beside her as asked.

Hibiki set a few up in the windows. "I'll help with the stairs! You are making sure to avoid the risk of a house fire, right?"

(James)
"Of course I am. Already had one house burn down on me...."

(Sam)
"Yeah....good luck with that in the bunk beds."

Hibiki finally met up with James. "I found ten candle holders downstairs. Two are illuminating the front windows." She started putting unlit candles in them. "We'll leave these near the top."

"Then I'll take them off before we get into bed." The girl stated.

(Sam)
"Eve, leave me my damn pants will you?"
=We got back to the house, the door still closed, and dull orange light illuminating the windows. I slowly opened the door and called out=

"James? Hibiki? You guys still got your clothes on?'

(James)
"Got it Hibiki."
=I heard Sam calling out to us from below=

"Yeah, we're fine Sam you can come in!"

"...your shirt?" Eve teased.

Hibiki smiled a bit. "All clothes on."

(Sam)
"Not even that Eve."
=We walked in, and I saw the candles everywhere, mostly going up the stairs=

"Geez, lay down some rose petals and you've got yourselves the right ingredients for a very Happy Valentines Day."

(James)
=I honestly couldn't tell whether my cheeks warmed up from blushing, or the heat of the candles=
"Yeah......that thought occurred to me too."
