Chapter 5: Revelations of the Past

=Jack notices the tall man come out of the room and puts his pie away=

Jack- Oh, im sorry. Didnt mean to disturb you with my smoking. I have a problem with it.

(He pauses)
(He looks at the man)
(He had seen the same figure before)
(Unknown where)

=He looks back out the window=

Jack- Beutiful night...

David awakens, weak but conscious. He groans in pain, "Son of a bitch...Where am I...." He looks around and tries the comms, "Anyone awake? Please tell me someone is..."

=fears try to form but I fight them down, barely= I'm trying to see how, but I'm lost at the moment. Please, talk to me, how is it for the best? I thought you were happy.

(He stands his ground)
(Weary of the man)
(His eyes begin to turn more red)

=Jack stands there, wary of the man. He had met him just a few hours before. He knows that there is no possible way the would reckonize him now, but he still stood at the ready=

=He gets up and walks out of the room to stretch his legs. He walks by two men he does not reckonize=

Voutan- Good evening.

(He looks at the man)
(Then to Voutan)
@Voutan
Hey.

(He looks back at the man)
(His memories beginning to return)
(His eyes close. Then snap back up at the man)
(He sticks out his hand to the man)

Draco

I back off, slowly

(JACK)

Jack- He wouldnt know my name, would he...?
=He shakes the mans hand=
Jack.

Voutan- Wait a second, dont i know you?
=He looks at Draco=

(He looks at Voutan)

(He looks back to Jack)

(Memories begin to fill him again)

Voutan- Draco...? What are you doing here?

(He turns to Voutan)

(He looks to both of them)

Jack- Oh, come now, Voutan. Dont tell me you've forgotten about Dear Jack.
=He smiles big=

(He looks once more at them)

(He snaps out of it)

Voutan- Draco, you know this guy?

Jack- Oh, no Voutan. Its what he should know about you. Had he known, im sure you would not be standing before me today.
=He continues smiling=

Wait.
What is going on here.

Jack- Go on, Voutan. Tell him. Tell him why you stand before me. Or should I? Clearly in order to save yourself, you lied to him.
=He smiles=

Voutan- Oh, gods...If draco finds out, he will no doubt kill me where i stand...

(His voice becomes stern)
(His eyes cold)

Voutan- Draco...i have to tell you...why i came to Chi Ceti IV... It was because.......Well, when i told you ONI sent me...that wasnt entirely true....

(He begins to take a deep breath)
(Inhale, Exhale)

=I look her dead in the eyes= If that is the case, the WHY?

=I don't realize I'm angry until I hear my fists pop=

Jack- Oh this is good...

Voutan- When i was sent to Chi Ceti IV, i was sent by ONI to rescue David Clark. That wasnt the only reason...... I lost a bet with Jack here for my life...When he learned i was going to be close to the Rougue Spartans, he told me that if i killed them and brought him the bounty, i would live. As you can see...i failed...Now my life rests on the mercy of you and Jack...Somehow i feel like my odds are Slim...

=Voutan hangs his head. Jack laughs=

Jack- Now before you jump to any conclusions here, Spartan, i had no intent on his success. He is young and naiive. My intent was to have him killed by Spartans, or come back a failure and pay his debts to me.

(He stares at them)

I had a feeling.

Leading to the deaths of Immer and Vas.

(He thinks to the ship)
(When Ash's leg had been shot off)

Vas, dying by my hand

Voutan- I know...Im sorry Draco...For everything...Will you spare me?
=He continues looking at the ground. Jack continues his big grin=

=i grab her shoulder and spin her around= Tell me why. I'm not angry at you, oh, no. If I was you would be bleeding from your nose and neck, with your eyes missing from your head and turned to jelly. I'm mad at myself for being blind. The only reason I am still alive right now is because I made a promise to you to not kill myself.

So tell me, why?

(He grabs Jack by the throat and slams him against the wall)
@Jack
You tricked him.
Made a bet with him that you knew he would lose.

(His grip tightens)

People like you make me sick.

=Jack continues smiling and even laughs a bit=

Jack- Oh, you dont know the half of it...

=Voutan comes over and puches Jack square in the face. Jack gets a bloody note and continues laughing=

Jack- Would you rather have had me tell you that he is the reason your girlfreind is missing her leg?

=i walk forward, slowly, pain and fire in my eyes= I want to know, why did you think treating me this way was a good idea? Did you think I wouldn't care? That I don't have feelings? That I'm just another failed Spartan ready to go to the incinerator?

=i punch the wall, knocking a hole through it= WELL?

I shake my head

I treated you the best i could because i needed as much info on you as i could get. I needed information on all of you.

I grab my armour as i walk past it, beginning to put it on

(His grip tightens ever more)
(His anger snaps)
(He drops Jack)

@Both
You both.

(He backs up)

=i take the armor from her and throw it into the corner. I grab her and throw her in the other direction= So I don't have feelings? I don't have thoughts? I AM NOT ALIVE?! Who are you to decide who has feelings and who doesn't?! I VIEWED YOU AS AN ANGEL! SENT FROM HEAVEN TO STOP MY MADNESS IN THIS UNIVERSE! Instead you are nothing more than a tool of hell, come here to increase the pain and death in this life.

And i treated you the best i could. The only way i could. I could have disappeared into the night without saying a word but i didn't. I stayed here, for much longer than i should have.

I move past him and pick up my armour, continuing to put it on.

=Jack gets up off the ground, still laughing. Voutan helps him up before looking at Draco=

Voutan- Draco...Like it or not i have a debt to reapy. I failed my mission, and now i must pay the price wether it be at your hands or his. Goodbye.

=Jack and Voutan walk down the hall=

=i take her armor again and throw her back, pinning her against the wall by her neck, lifting her off the ground. my eyes start to glaze over= Jay, my name is Mali. What you are doing is tearing him apart. I can't stop him, but i can talk. I am his subconscious, and i can tell you, right now, you don't know everything. You have barely scratched the surface, of him, or any of us. I will tell you what you need to know, but only if you calm him down. Pin him or something. You came for knowledge, I am offering.

You should know me better. I can't. I am loyal to ONI and i will die being loyal if i have to.

My hand raises up, punching him in the stomach in an attempt to free myself

(He returns to thier room)
(Slipping in and removing his weapons)
(He slips in next to her again)
(Taking her hand into his)
(He places one more kiss and sleeps)

=Voutan looks back to Draco and sees him go into his room as they walk down the hall=

Voutan- Why, Draco? Dont forget who helped save Ash's life... One life for another... Of course not...

Jack- What's eating you, Voutan?

=the punches hurt me, but the pain barely registers. my glazed eyes look into hers as my other hand punches her in the stomach=

Listen to me. He will kill you, and then he will go on a killing spree. This entire planet WILL be devoid of life, no trees, no animals, nothing. And then he will fix his ship, and move onto the next one, and the next one, and the next one, until he kills Earth and all of it's colonies. Let's not forget Aurafell linked your two souls. Once he kills you, he will succumb to anger and pain. He will turn into that one being ONI is so afraid of. He has the capabilities to stop your ships, disable your weapons, even turn them against you. The UNSC is techno-dependent, there is no place safe from him.

Another thing, I can give you knowledge about how the mind works, about how to read things no machine can ever see. About how the soul works and how to find it. Do you think ONI will be happy if you simply let that go?

What if i killed you first?

(He sighs)
(He rushes out of the bed again)
(Annoyed)
(Angry)
(He grabs his pistol and loads it with a freeze round)
(He pushes the door open and runs down the hallway)
(Seeing Voutan and Jack)
(He aims and fires)
(The bullet makes contact within Jack's left leg)
(The bullet begins to freeze Jacks leg)

There. A fighting chance has been given to you.

(He runs back to the room and quickly returning to bed, tossing the gun on top of the pile)

=Voutan sees Jscks leg freeze and attemps to run. Jack sighs. He breaks the freeze and runs after Voutan. He catches him and brings him into an Unoccupied room. He activates his Energy Knife and goes to town on Voutan. He walks back up the hall and knocks on Draco's door=

(He hears the knock)
(He ignores it)

=He knocks once more. He humms to himself as he awaits an answer=

He has the knowledge of every action, reaction, and counter of the human body programmed into his instincts, just like ONI wanted. They made the ultimate killing machine, they just couldn't fit the leash on. They only thing keeping him from turning into that machine, is himself, and he is killing that part of him as we speak. But don't forget about the knowledge. Pin him down and calm him, or just knock him out, and I will tell you all that you wish to know. I am not affected by whatever pain is inflicted upon him, I am simply the Recorder and Analyzer.

David slowly rises, avoiding us of his still sore wrists, and goes to his room. He walks perfectly fine except his arms are held outward and his palms are up, as if he's holding something. He slowly and carefully entered the key-code for his room, locking it behind him and passing out on his bed.

(He sighs again)
(He slips out of the bed)
(Looking at Ash)
(He smiles)
Such a heavy sleeper

(He grabs his HC and goes up to the door)
(He hides it and opens it)
(Shoving Jack out of the way and closing it)

I. Am. Trying. To. Sleep.

(His eyes begin to glaze over)

Jack- Sorry to bother you again, sir. I just had something that i beleive belongs to you. Ill leave it out here for you to claim in the morning.

=He ties Voutan's bloody yead by the hair to Draco's doorknob before heading back down the hall=
