War. War never changes but imagine a world different from our own, one where technology advanced rapidly but society stayed in the cultural norm of the 1950's. At first, there was peace in this world, nuclear powered cars, robots, advances in both medicine and science. It started slowly, queues at the gas stations and small conflicts, here and there. No one really noticed it or did anything until it was already too late. Oil was running at and the alternatives where simply not there. The United Nations at first tried to stop the bickering countries but even it, in the end was forced to admit defeat. Many countries left the United Nations and it was disbanded. Following the fall of the UN, the European Commonwealth invaded Saudi Arabia intent on securing the last drops of oil. The conflict waged until the pumps ran dry and then the European Commonwealth turn on itself, dissolving into little more than squabbling states fighting over every last drop. The United States of America moved to ensure it's supply of oil, by constructing the Poseidon oil platform in the middle of the Pacific Ocean, the only oil platform capable of drilling for the last drops. The Chinese government responded by saying they had already laid claim to that site and would have had their platform their first had it not been sabotaged by American Commandos. The American Government denied such accusations and in response to nearby Chinese Naval War games deployed the entire Pacific Fleet to protect the Poseidon oil platform. The United States, however possessed one other supply of oil, it was located in Anchorage Alaska. In order to protect the supply of oil from Alaska the USA constructed the Anchorage Front Line. However the Canadian Government objected to US military units moving through their country, shortly afterwards Canada was annexed by the United States and the pipeline leading through Canada fortified. The Anchorage Front Line was however not an actually front line since there where no enemies for the United Sates to combat. That... However was all about to change. Unknown to the Americans, the People's Republic of China had been planning a massive invasion aiming to secure the oil supply for themselves...
"Why is it always so freezing here?" A trooper grumbled blowing into his gloves, his winterised combat amour providing little warmth again the blistering winds and snows. "Well Fred that's because we are half way up a mountain, in Alaska in the middle of winter" Came a reply from the soldier to his left. Fred chuckle he was a tall, muscular giant of a man about 6 foot 7. "Ah I grew up in warmer lands the Chinese would never invade us the good old USA is too powerful for any meagre commie nation, besides it's October Sarah" Fred said confidently, pulling on the shoulder strap of his R91 Assault Rifle absently trying to work some feeling into his frozen fingers. "Yeah if that was the case why would we be here?" Fred turned to face the soldier pulling off his helmet revealing the face of a young twenty year old man with light blue eyes and short closely cut black hair. "Come on you actually think the Chinese would invade us Sarah?" The soldier sighed turning to face her companion. "Yes otherwise we would not be here Fred" Sarah was small and rather skinny, dwarfed by the size of Fred. She wisely kept her face hidden, wrapped up nice and warm. "Private put your helmet back on!" Came the loud bellow of Major Caster, a squat, rotund man in his late fifties. Fred swiftly slid his helmet back on over his head, knowing that if he did not Caster would only lecturer him on the delights of frostbite. "Ah... Why does he always pick on me?" He muttered to Sarah. She chuckled and said in reply. "Maybe it is because your so big and dumb?" Fred had the good nature to laugh with his comrade. "Hey but at least I am not the same size as a sniper rifle" Sarah laughed and shook her head, the trench they where in was located half way up a mountain overlooking a pine forest. There where numerous fortification covering the mountain dug outs, hidden bunkers and trenches that snaked their way across like blood vessels. The Anchorage Front Line, to protect Alaska but more importantly protect the oil fields from invasion. "You two quieten down" Caster growled marching down into their trench, his hand resting on his 10mm smg, he wore a cowboy hat and had a long black beard his black eyes blazed like coal. "Fred she is not interested in you" He snapped somewhat teasingly. His humour was however lost on the two privates in the trench who made room for the officer. Just then a shell screamed over head impacting further up the mountain, launching a spray of snow, ice, rock and earth in to the sky. "Incoming!" Fred yelled drawing his rifle and placing it on the sandbags lining the trench. Sarah picked up her sniper rifle and sighted on the forest bellow. More shells rained down kicking up snow and rock, the mountain seemed to shake with the force of the bombardment. Major Caster gripped the ham radio and desperately tried to contact HQ. "This is Star Sector we are under attack" All three threw themselves down when a shell detonated barely a few yards from the trench. "Under heavy bombardment all sectors prepare for hostile contact" Major Caster stood still holding the radio, listening to HQ. Fred raised his rifle once more while Sarah rested her rifle stock against her right shoulder as she looked down her sight. "Contact" She said seeing glimpses of Chinese soldiers in the trees. The Major turned and yelled. "Take them down Sarah" Sarah did not reply but held her breath before firing, a soldier collapsed crimson spraying onto pure snow. She continued firing, it was easier to hit a soldier than miss. Fred opened fire his rilfe on full automatic. The Major swore loudly before adding his smg to the fire. Other positions opened fire cutting down the Chinese Soldiers in droves. "Fred, Sarah... We are on our own we are under attack by the Chinese across the entire sector" They kept firing the slope up the mountain littered with the green jumpsuit bodies of hundreds of Chinese Soldiers. It was October 10th 2077... The battle for Alaska had begun.

Equipment: Winterised Combat Armour, Winsterised Combat Helmet, 3 stimpacks, 1 packet of Mentats Personality: Sarcastic, work based, friendly Skills: Excellent shot, team player, good at stealth, poor leadership skills, Biography: Sarah Winters was born in Detroit is 2057, she lived in a small house with a big family, her mother, father, three brothers and five sisters, as well as her grandma and granddad. She was the eldest child and had always been less than average with her education so it was no surprise to anyone when she dropped out of school and enlisted in the US Army as soon as she turned eighteen. It turned out to be a wise choice what with the food shortages and the high prices of food, her wages helped pay to keep the family warm but also in bread. During basic training she was marked out for her superb accuracy and her preference for stealth tactics. She finished basic a designated marksman and was sent to the Alaska to replace Echo Squad’s marksman who had been removed from service due to severe frostbite. She had not seen actual combat till the Invasion of Alaska on October 10th 2077. Though she remained calm and fought even as her comrades fell around her, truth be told she was scared, so horribly scared. The initial engagement was so brutal, many soldiers could not cope with it… The scale of the invasion, the sheer amount of losses sustained on both sides in the first day of the attack. Sarah feels that her courage is beginning to fail her and the sheer loss of so many friends is beginning to affect her. Though she is at her deadliest when armed with a Sniper rifle since she lost it on the first day of conflict Sarah has been forced to use the standard issue R91 Assault Rifle. The weapon is inaccurate and significantly less powerful at longer ranges than the Sniper rifle. In the first day of the engagement Sarah alone counted for the death of over fifty Chinese Soldiers including one officer. Theme Song: Man of War Die With Honour

Work In Progress
Name: Audie Murphy Nickname: Little Texas
Age: 21 Gender: Male Race/Appearance:
Faction: US Army Rank: Sergeant Squad: Powered Armour Unit Role: Demolitions
Personality: A lively lad, Murphy is one of the youngest members of the Powered Armour Unit, and as such is still a bit naive when it comes down to the happenings of war - he's seen his fair share and proven his worth, but he's still no veteran of the world of combat. He's a brash and short sighted soldier, but he's brave and willing to die for his friends and country if he needs to. His kindness and joy has lit up many a battle field, and his vigour with a Fatman has lit up just as many. Skills: A mediocre shot with a rifle and a worse hit in hand-to-hand combat, Murphy has dedicated his training to that of heavy weaponry. He's learnt the structural weak points of battlefields, bunkers, trenches, and military formations, and has become proficient with everything from grenades to nuclear weapons.
Biography: Born and raised in Texas, Murphy joined the military at seventeen, eager to make some money for his family. With the oil crisis at hand, he knew everyone needed to find ways to work now, and for him, the military was the best he'd get. Though he spent most of his time training, Murphy was a rather gifted young lad and was more than capable of passing the tests presented to him during his early education and induction into the armed forces. He climbed the ladder hard and fast, and reached the rank of Sergeant at the age of 20. By this time, war was looming heavily over the American peoples. All he could do was prepare to fight for his country, his people, and his family.
