Chapter 1: Welcome to the New World

"JESUS CHRIST!" James shouted as he recoiled back from the site of Kristen, biting into the throat of their attacker, ignoring Eve sword sticking out her back. "Kristen!"

Sparrow was simply stunned at the girls ferocity and near savage nature, and it froze her

Well dark, I'm sure he will just think I'm taking a break, for now. Marcus got up from his corner and started to look for a subway that he could call home for tonight.

I struggle to get up. He starts shuffling through everything on the table, then heads for the closet.
"Hey!" I yell, pulling up my arm, preparing to fire. Another blast comes from his direction, shoving me back down.
Pulling our both pistols, I start spraying shots at him. A couple hit him, but he doesn't seem to care. He grabs something, and turns around, sending another shock at me. He has all my blueprints in his hand. As soon as he is out the door, I give chase, but he pulls out a phone of some sort, pressing a button. As soon as the button is pressed, I feel a shock from all of my electronic parts, and get a massive headache, sending me to the floor in agony.

Stella looked up at Amy.
"...I'm sorry I caused so much trouble Amy..." She teared up. "It's all I do is mess things up. I can only be good at a computer it seems."

"Stella......it's okay, really," Amy said. "You made a mistake, and you paid for it. No sense getting worked up over it." Chris thumped Stella on the shoulder playfully, and said "She's got a point. Come on, since we're all here we might as well grab a coffee or something. Maybe a soda."

Stella blushed at the offer. If only you knew...
"Okay...Uhm...I'll buy." She smiled shyly. "I have money to spare."

"Nah, that's fine but we'll all buy our own Stella," Amy said. "It's not like we're going to dinner, it's just a drink."

"Still..." She rubbed her arms. "...well...I'll buy you both dinner...as my way of thanks."

"It's fine Stella," Chris said a bit firmly. "I've got some pizza in the fridge that'll go bad if I don't eat it soon. Plus.....well, I need to get started on the Halloween decorations."

"...I forgot Halloween was coming up..." She said. Deciding to change the subject as they walked, she glanced at them. "...what are you two going as?"

"We haven't decided just yet," Chris said. Amy nodded, though she reconsidered and said "Well, I have an idea of what to dress up as." Blinking, Chris asked "Wait, really? What?" Amy smiled sweetly and said "Wait and see Chris. Just wait and see."

Stella giggled. "I was thinking of being Oracle from Batman...Just need to get a badass electric wheelchair. That, or like...Black Widow, from The Avengers. She's so cool..."

"But do you have the moves?" Chris asked with a raised eyebrow.

"No...I'm not good at anything but computers..." She looked away. "Sorry, I'll stick with Oracle..." Stella was flushed with embarrassment.

"Well, you don't have to be good at fighting to put on the costume," Chris said. "It's just Halloween. But it's up to you."

"oh."

She felt stupid. "Right..."

"Cheer up," Chris said as they walked away from the container units, reaching a 7/11. "Let's just grab a drink, maybe chat for a bit before I have to head home." "Sounds like a plan," Amy said.

"Sounds like a plan." Stella echoed. "Sounds like a plan."

After getting to the store, they bought their drinks and walked out soon after. Chris and Amy engaged in a conversation about the upcoming Halloween carnival, plus the dance that would follow it. "So Stella.......who you going with?" Chris asked.

Turning another corner Marcus continued to walk until he found some place he could call home. Alright dark as soon as we find some place I need some dummies. you want to train some more? Yea man, We can't just hope your power does it, I told you 6 years ago powers are no good if your mental and physical prowess is weak. oh yes that's why you can lift heavy objects that most people can't without my power. yep,  hang on I'm going to see what today is.   

Stella looked at her feet. "...no one...the only people I'd go with are either not with me, or...or taken."

I lie there in agony for what seems like hours, trying not to let my head explode. Slowly, I crawl down onto the sidewalk, and with whatever voice I have left I start to yell, "Help! Help!"

"Oh......well, that's too bad," Chris said as they walked. "You can still show up though. Might meet someone there," she followed with a grin.

Stella blushed. "...I met them already."

"Oh really?" Amy asked. "Who are they?"

Stella looked away. "Jake, but I left him and I can't ask him so close." She looked away. "The other one is unreachable."

"Pen pal?" Chris asked, finishing her soda but holding onto the bottle. They were nearing her home now, and she wanted to call Jason......but that meant asking him how the superpower gig was going, and she didn't want Stella to know.

That place looks nice, don't you think. its the first subway we've come across. still, its a subway. Marcus went right into the darkness of the abandoned subway allowing dark to activate their night vision, they continued on, hoping to get as far as possible.

"No...n...not a penpal..." She said.

"Okay...." Chris said, wondering why she was being so guarded about the identity. But she shrugged her shoulders and kept walking. Amy on the other hand, always the inquisitive one, asked "So.....guessing they're private?"

Stella sighed. "She doesn't really know I exist."

Amy's cheeks went a bit pink when she realized the two fold admission Stella just said, and Chris stopped in her tracks. "Her?" the latter of the pair asked.

Stella froze.
"...fuck."

She was silent for twenty seconds. "...yes....her...."

Neither Chris or Amy said anything for a few, agonizingly long seconds. People were moving on the sidewalk ahead and coming their way, and it made the girls briefly part as the crowd passed through. Then Amy said softly "So......you like girls? Is that why you and Jake......?"

"I'm bi." She said softly. "And why I left Jake is because of work related reasons..."

"Oh, okay," Amy said. She traded a subtle look with Chris, and her friend nodded. "Stella......Chris and I.....we're kinda in the same boat. I'm gay, and she's...." Amy trailed off as Chris spoke for herself. "I'm bisexual. But at the moment--and please please please promise you won't tell James or anyone else--Amy and I are together."

Stella looked at them...and felt her heart break into a thousand pieces.
"...I won't tell you." she said softly. "I promise...I won't tell anyone."

Both girls breathed a sigh of relief, and Amy said "Thanks. I mean, no secret I'm gay most of the school knows and doesn't bother. Heck James has always been supportive to boot. But no one else knows about Chris and I.....and I can take the trash they send my way. Won't put her in the line of fire." Chris sighed, shaking her head and said "I hear it's both sweet and annoying when you say that. Have you seen me? I could kick any ass that comes at me."

Stella held her thoughts.
"I know. First degree brown belt. Won two tournaments, came in second and third in the following three." She paused. "Sorry, I hacked the school mainframe a bit ago."

Chris blinked and said "Stella, my belt ranking and tournament records aren't on the school mainframe. So how do you know that?"

Stella froze. She then dropped her drink and started running.

"Stella!" Chris barked as she started to run after her. But Amy held her hand and said "No let her go. We can grab her tomorrow, right now we should call James. I don't know about you, but I'm kinda worried."

Stella hid within one of the containers Icarus had set up. It was ten blocks away from her current location thankfully, and as she huddled inside...she sobbed.
"I'm an idiot."

walking though the tunnel bored out of hell. stop thinking. well sorry. hey is that a light? holy crap. if their homeless people I'm gonna scare them. with that Marcus let his mask come over his face and he started to slowly walk towards the light.

Zeru kept working near the crates cataloging of everything left to be installed while talking to himself."such a pain"

getting closer to the light he started to make out some platforms of sort, like someone was building a house or something in here. wow looks like we got ourselves a Bruce Wayne. who? never mind. as he made it to the light he started to take cover behide building materials and started to look around.

Zeru was still going over information when he heard something with his enhanced hearing so decided to check it out."better see what's going on down there"he said as he climbed on the railing and looked around down below for the source of the noise.

"Hey do you think there here." Marcus said having looked everywhere but up he got out of his hiding spot and decided to look at some of the equipment he saw. "Dam everything here looks expensive." who is this Bruce Wayne? "Hes a comic book character that calls himself batman, My fave superhero without powers." Right that sounds very interesting. "Not as interesting as these buttons." don't you there do this again.

"if your going to sneak into places you should be more quiet and hold up your hands"zeru said as he aimed a pistol at the man below him.
