Biography: At the age of six, Ike was kidnapped by Dr Halsey along with several other children with superior traits for the Spartan-II Project (which by this time was dwindling after the focus turned to maintaining the surving 33 Spartans from Class-I and their armor), and was among the surviving candidates in the Class-II of the Spartan-II Project, but was one of the last to recover. He showed an uncanny ability of being able to identify signs of mental and physical stress in the other candidates, and within two years of training was able to treat his “brothers’ and sisters’ ” wounds faster than the corpsmen could, and showed a fierce tenacity in protecting them in close quarters.
Time would pass, and he would carry out stealth missions with an assigned team of Spartans until a decade had passed after the Human-Covenant War began. In 2537, he would suffer a malfunction in his armor that resulted in him getting separated from all but one of his team of Spartans; the other Spartan with him would be the one he grew closest to, Spartan-461 Scarlett. These two would be retrieved by ONI operatives and reassigned to performing oversight missions, and designated as the “Arctic Wolves”. These two would continue performing such operations, growing closer to each other and rediscovering human personalities after exposure to several different military and civilians they encountered, an unintentional slip by ONI.
Eventually, the slang terms and statements as well as reactions between the two Spartans would catch ONI’s attention, and they would attempt to put an end to this, which failed utterly. However, the final blow to Ike’s newfound humanity would be struck in 2550, when he and Scarlett were ordered to neutralize a Covenant space station. They managed to plant the nuclear warhead in the engine room, but were assaulted on the way out, resulting in Spartan-461 receiving mortal wounds from a Hunter pair. Ike, out of rage, killed the Lekgolo and the remaining Covenant who dared pursue as he tried desperately to carry her to the hangar, confiscating a Phantom. After reaching a safe distance and watching the station be destroyed as he tried to save her life. He was unable to, and tragically, watched her die in his arms. The ONI operatives receiving him after he returned would be attacked by him in his rage, resulting in one’s head getting smashed within his helmet, and the other two crippled from severe wounds. It was clear to ONI’s command that Ike was a dangerous tool, and one to use with great caution.
Ever since then, he has become a cold, calculating Spartan who only speaks when required to. Furthermore, he has unspoken bitterness toward ONI, and instead refuses to take orders unless Lord Admiral Hood is made aware of it. As of 2557, Ike has been properly awarded the medals and decorations that he earned during his service in the Human-Covenant War by the UNSC Navy, and has been tasked with training the incoming wave of Spartan-IVs aside from his black-ops missions, having nothing else left in his life but service and duty.
