@Dormii: Then I shall tell you how my Race joined the Covenant. It was many, many years ago. The Prophets came into contact with my species about Forerunner technology. My species had a different approach to the technology, that it was a relic and should not be touched. However the Prophets believed it should be studied. A war broke out, we would win ground battles but beacause of their knowledge they would win Naval battles. My species and the Prophets would be ahnilated if we did not join together and become the start of the Covenant. So with the survival of our species, the Sangheili joined the Prophets to begin the Covenant.

And the other species?

The Covenant mostly conscripted the other species by force, or eithe covinced them to join. Religious power is a great power indeed, Dormii Fortuni.
