Chapter 8 NAME "Shit Happens" Part 5

=After I had taken care of Shelby, I had returned down to Haven. The Council wanted to talk. Again. This time, it was about the massive ship, which we were now sure was the Azure Comet, or at least, a newer version. The Council was scared, of that much I was sure. Even after finding a new home, the ship, that had led the fleet that burned their homes, found them. What they wanted to do was fairly obvious: Attack. Attack, preemptive strike, take your pick. They feared that now that the XNNO's knew where we lived, they would come for us. Frankly, I knew the truth: that the XNnO's would keep their word (at least I hoped they would). At the least, i was sure that they were wary of us, or the power inside Haven. After all, six of the Forerunner warships had disarmed their entire fleet. I shuddered to think what the whole 22 could do. Anyway, the meeting went smoothly. I was able to convince the Council not to declare war, or attack the XNNO's. But it was close, and i was slightly worried now. But, with all that done, I decided that enough had happened for one day, so I decided to get some rest. I was on my way to the teleporter, and decided to call Miri=

Hey, Miri. Where are you? I want to talk.


(Miranda)
=I don't really know how long I had been in the Arena now. My limbs were sore, and even with the skin matching my temperature, I was already beginning to sweat. So it came as a relief when Jason called me. Finally, I could leave!=
Hey Jason. Where are you?

(Jason)
I'm heading back to the Serenity. Where are you?

(Miranda)
I'll tell you when I get back. Trust me, you're going to love this.
=I scanned for a teleporter, but found none in the arena. I had to comm Silver=

Hey Silver, I'm ready to leave now. but I can't find a teleporter terminal anywhere in here.

(Silver Light)
=i responded to the comm=
Ah yes, sorry about that. I forgot that I used my personal clearance to send you to the arena. one moment please.

=I accessed the grid, and locked onto the female's life-signs. A few seconds later, I sent her back to her ship=

Thanks Silver.
=I headed back to my room, for the shower. Hey, after going through nearly hours of exercises and combat sims, I needed one. Wouldn't you?=

(Jason)
=It didn't take me long to get back to the ship. Just step on the pad, and a few seconds later, I was outside my ship. It was all very routine. After getting back inside via the cargo bay, i took the lift up to the crew deck. I didn't find Miri in the main area, so i walked into our room. I heard the shower running, so it didn't take me long to guess where she was. Truth be told, I was tempted to join her. It had been a long time, since I had a real hot shower (and yes, I also wanted to, you know, get intimate with her. Sue me)=

=I'd walked for a while. Longer than a while. I was just following the tire tracks. I just hoped I'd come across something. My body was still aching from the crash, it was worse than before. I saw something... It was... A Warthog? It was still... And I couldn't see anybody... So, I had a guess... That... That was where the Warthog I had been following would've parked. I walked closer... It hurt... But after a while I came withing 5 metres of it. There weren't any guards... Or snipers... Or anything. I looked around quickly, but I didn't see any snipers... No guards? If this was the place... Then... I didn't know. It looked like a trap. And I had no other choice but to walk into it.=

(Jason)
=So, nearly half an hour after I had stripped down, and joined Miri in the shower (again, sue me if I wanted some intimacy with my girlfriend) we were dried off, clothed, and sitting at the mess hall table, discussing all that had happened. She was worried about these alien troopers, and how they had displayed such......contempt, if that was the right word, for my soldier, and how they had killed him. Then there was this Sangheili here, who my troops said wanted to speak with me. We were all worried, mainly because it seemed he was a little......glass happy. He seemed very eager to glass Haven, despite the fact that it was a freaking Forerunner world, which I could have sworn was beyond holy to the Covenant. All we could do though, was prepare for if he ever did decide to attack us. Anyway, I asked about her day, and I was very surprised when I learned about this arena. In fact, it offered something of an opportunity=

(Leann)

=I listened to the captain speak over the intercom, we were half way there=

I wonder if he is even alive. If anyone is alive. I was chosen to pick up any VIP's on the ground, it was a scary thought if you think about it.

=I was busy eating in the cafeteria when another pilot spoke to me=

(Pilot)

Man, you're lucky, getting to go get VIP's. I was chosen to collect any info on the attack.

(Leann)

Well you're job is better than having to land on a planet that has possibility of rebels.

=I stood up after I finished eating, and left to my room=

(Silver Light)
=I was beginning to feel as though I could kiss the good, quiet old days goodbye: another fleet was on it's way to Haven. Judging by the sensors, they were halfway here. I sent out another alert, to the fleet, to the bases, and to the Inheritor=


(Jason)
=My chat with Miri was interrupted when Silver commed me, saying that another fleet was in it's way here=
Awww, come on!!!!!!

=I got my armor on, left the ship, and took the teleporter terminal back to Alpha Base, where I took a transport ship up to the Silver Hawk. The whole thing took me maybe 15 minutes. Once I was on the bridge, the ship joined the fleet in orbit over Haven. I saw on the monitors the 22 Forerunner warships join the fleet, forming a ring around us=

=I reached the Warthog... And collapsed, hitting the side of it. But lucky me... There weren't any guards to here the noise. But, I was still in a lot of pain... And it seemed right now, getting shot was an easier option. I crawled for a while, in no direction, until... I saw two people... They... Didn't look like guards. Like... Scientists. Was something here... Some fancy technology or whatever? I lay there, watching as they talked. They shook hands, and headed in the same direction. Me, crawling behind them. I was surprised they hadn't seen me. I was right in the open and... Nothing. I kept on crawling, and crawling until they stopped, and came to some sort of... Elevator? It was... Huge. A big circle shape that descended downwards horizontally. Now... How was I going to get down there? Slide down? Wait for the elevator? There were some pipes nearby... They looked big enough for me to fit in... I had... Some rope... But even then... Shit. It was the only option. I stood up, and walked over to them. Painfully.=

(Captain)

(Speaking to fleet)

This is the Captain of the Blinding Fire. This is a mission to retrieve important artifacts collected from the downed ship Reaver's Edge. I do not want anyone to open fire unless fired upon. My ship will do the talking, so keep quiet until things are done here.

(Leann)

=I was constantly thinking, talking to my logbook so it could record my time on the ship and my mission=

I always thought that the Captain was a man of peace, not destruction. Yet he chooses this size of a fleet? What does he expect? A covenant armada?

There was one thing on my mind all the time, if they were still alive.

=I closed my logbook, and stored it in my locker=

=I waited on the bridge. The whole fleet mobilized in orbit, forming a loose group, a shield. I had given the order to hold fire, unless fired upon by the intruding fleet=

They were waiting for us. I want all crew members on standby. I'm hailing.

This is the Captain of the Blinding Fire, I ask of you for-

Captain. This is Sargent Jeremy with ONI clearance, im requesting pickup at my location. Do not fire upon anyone in this area. I have things to discuss.

=I knew that I was speaking on an open channel, it was on purpose=

Uh, very well. Ill send you the transport. I expect it to be intact when it gets here.

Could it really be him? I don't believe it.

Leann, I need your transport down there. Watch out for any ambushes.

=I took off in my pelican, waiting to see "Jeremy"=

=I saw the ships exit slip-space, and recognized them as UNSC. And here I thought that Parangosky would honor the pact. It wasn't until the captain of the lead ship tried hailing us, then got cut off by Jeremy, that I began to breath easier. I gave the order for the transport to be let through, though I did detach a fighter squadron, Molly's squadron in fact, to escort the transport to Alpha Base=

=the troph breaks away from the other ships and shortly after 13 ships exit slipspace around it all painted with the same paint scheme of sapphire blue with markings on the sides resembling leivathans that differ from each class of ship=




just to be clear:3 usnc carriers,6 covie destroyers,2 usnc frigates and the newly aqquired med ship all with the nation's flag on the hull

=I saw the new ships exit slip-space near the Trophaeum, and immediately hailed Zeru=

=I saw the fighters pull near me, it was a little uncomfortable, when I neared the base I saw a lone ODST. Maybe it could be him=

=I heard his voice over private coms, it really was him=

I can't believe it's you... I thought you would be dead!

=I landed the pelican, and told him to get in=

It's been too long, Leann. We need to talk after all this is done.

(Leann)

Yes sir.

(Captain)

Good, were going to have a long chat.

(Jason)
=I got word that the transport had landed, and that Jeremy was on board. I commed Molly and the rest of her squadron=
Silver Squadron, your job is done. Regroup with the other fighters now.

=without waiting for a response, I commed Jeremy=
Jeremy, what the hell is going on here?

(Jeremy)

=I responded to Jason's message=

The two super huge ships are new experimental carriers. The fleet is here to search for any UNSC presence left, and this A.I. I have. Don't do anything to that fleet, Ill take care of it. If you need me to, I can send you the specs of the two ships.

(Jason)
No, you don't have to send the specs. But a lot of people here are going to be nervous. I need to know that this fleet means us no harm.

(Jeremy)

Captain, I need your ships to stay friendly, do not open fire on any of the ships in the current area!

(Captain)

No worry's, this is a peaceful mission.

(Jeremy)

Jason, the Captain will not fire on any ship in the area. They are friendly.

=We entered the landing bay, it looked all too familiar=

Captain, were here.

(Captain)

Good. Jeremy, meet me at the viewing deck.

(Jeremy)

Yes sir.

(Jason)

=I hailed the fleet=

All ships: Do not open fire! Maintain formation!

=All three fleets remains motionless, though the newcomers seemed to still be getting into formation. The UNSC fleet remained close to the edge of Haven's space, while Haven's fleet remained in orbit over Haven=

This day couldn't get any worse...

Xzan had recently boarded a ship, that he had stolen from the Human's base. He had just got onboard his Supercarrier and was settling back down with his warriors. They had not noticed he had escaped.

"Admiral there is a problem!"

"Speak Arbiter?"

"The beam was stopped, by one of our own. It has been reset and over-ridden by someone outside of the ship"

Xzan clenched his fists, and looked at the options at hand.

(Jeremy)

=As I walked off the pelican, I heard Leann call my name=

Yeah?

(Leann)

=I put my hand on his shoulder=

I'm glad to have you back. Now go see the Captain.

(Jeremy)

=I nodded and headed off to the viewing deck, it felt good to be back on a UNSC ship, I entered the Viewing Room and saw the Captain=

You wanted to see me sir?

(Captain)

Ah yes. I'm Captain Alexander Rogers, pleasure to meet you Jeremy.

(Jeremy)

This is a nice fleet Captain. How did we get it so fast?

(Captain)

Top secret, higher clearance than me. Anyway, where here to discuss what exactly happened to the ship you were on.

(Jeremy)

=I was in the middle of explaining what happened and whats going on, until we heard a voice on the speakers. I wonder if Jason is still listening to my broadcast=

(Captain Fledgers)

This is Captain Fledgers, any ships loyal to my command, fire upon any UNSC ship under Captain Alexander's command!

(Captain Alexander)

What the hell?! All ships fight back! Launch all fighters and bombers!

(Jeremy)

=I heard a loud ear shattering boom, and realized it was the other ships new experimental MAC cannon=

Shit!

=I knew whoever was listening to my broadcast heard everything now=

(Leann)

=I took off in a fighter, it was a new one, and no one claimed it. So I took it. As I managed to escape the chaos I turned to look. Everything was in chaos, it would be suicide to fly in there. Captain Fledgers has more ships as well=

(Jeremy)

Leann, I need you to keep them away from the ship im on, things are gonna get crazy!

(Jason)
=Once I saw the UNSC ships fire on each other, things got a little out of hand. One of my own captains panicked, and ordered his ship to fire. This led to at at least three other ships firing on the UNSC ships, regardless of who started firing=

Dammit! All ships, hold your fire!

(Jeremy)

Things are getting out of hand here...

Jason! I'm marking the traitors ship's! Were all mixed in so your going to have to be careful!

(Jason)
Zeru, you sure about that? My guys are getting nervous here.
=I had just managed to get a handle on my fleet. Hell, I yelled at the captains that opened fire=

=the fleet fires a massive archer vollery along side a massive plasma torpedo volley into the targets, a small handful of archers hit the loyal unsc ship but does little damage=

=They were jamming signals, week, but enough to scramble a message=

=I was starting to send a message to Jason, but when it sent it was all scrambled=

=I saw two different fleets firing on us, I was really uneasy now=

=i had no idea what the hell Jeremy's message said, which is why I did the fairly smart thing, and did nothing. Hey, it was that, or blindly fire in confusion. Take a guess at which one was safer=

=the fleet stop firing and the troph goes into the usnc fleet and gets in between the fighting sides and fires it's turrets full broadside into the treasonous usnc ship it's shields take return fire but hold=

=The ship that flew between us was helping surely, until I saw the MAC cannon starting charging again, aiming for the ship=

=Sigma had Delta's body, armor and all, put into Cryo storage. There was nothing they could do for him at the moment, and he had other, bigger projects ot work on. The top engineers had already began producing their own versions of the Clone armor, which was made of the same materials, but thicker, and made to suit the SS soldiers. The first squad to recieve the new armor was utterly delighted. It was lighter and stronger than before, while still maintaining the same look and feel of thier old armor. Sigma himself had worked on integrating the shielding systems of the SS armor into it, and they worked perfectly. They were also the first squad to be equipped with the new Blaster Rifle, which was named the MCR-III. Xazhi estimated that it would take a very short time for the rest of the army to be fitted with the new equipment if all efforts were put into it as they were now. Meanwhile, Alpha boarded the Mahogany Star, and went into slipspace towards Earth, hoping to negotiate peace between the UNSC and UXNN. The Clones were each given a place on the Azure Comet, as well as a new assignment: Train the SS to be as fierce and effective as them. Huge sessions were held in the Hanger. The SS, being trained as they already had been, were quick to pick up on the new Clone ways. Xazhi stood on the balcony over the Hanger, watching the new training. He took a note on his Tacpad=

Xzan looked away.

"I have got that wrong, I know that is incorrect!"

Xzan got his Advisers aboard his ORS Supercarrier to check the systems over again. He was going to prepare his Glassing Beam one more.

"Prepare the Glassing Beam. We are still Glassing this Planet!"

All obeyed and did as he said, the beam started from the bottom, to the top.

=The next morning, the council received a comm from the UNSC. They had captured Alpha and the Mahogany Star, and were planning to destroy the ship and execute her publicly. The council, especially Beta, was absolutely furious. They began devising a plan for her rescue, and it was decided that they would head back to Haven to retrieve something that Xazhi suggested would be highly valuable, and bring the entire fleet to the UNSC's doorstep. They took a day to make sure all the SS were fitted with their new equipment, and loaded them onto the ships. Xazhi invited the three Clones to join the battle, and they agreed almost instantly. The five capital ships, and the rest of the fleet behind it, jumped to slipspace=

=I start to put my Assault Rifle back together after cleaning it to factory standards=

=I begin to polish it because of the lack of things to do=

=He had been asleep for longer than he had wanted to=

=Adjusting to the darkness of the room=
