Fallout RP Chapter 1

I pick myself up with my rifle as support.

"That's all of them. Wait. You guys can help. There's 3 left in my platoon, including myself. I think our captain is Frumentarius. Will you help me kill the fucker?"

"Yeah. Except everyone within a good couple miles knows where we are."
I sigh as I put my rifle back to my back.

"Well, that escalated quickly." I said.

"Kill Captain... 3 Man group... Well. Lets go surrender to the Legion." Gulliver added grimly.

"Wait, what's going on here, 'Heavy'?" The LT Asked.

"Looks like we might have to travel through the night then."
I sigh.
I'm sure that'll be fun.

I sigh.
"Look, my platoon has been getting royally fucked for the past 6 weeks. And only the captain could do it. Proof? I told him about my suspicions, and got blown up the next day. Then, he decides our camping location and there just happens to be a pair of Legion assassins here? Either you help me, Luitenant, or Court Martial me after I shoot this fucker."

"Just hold on here, Heavy. We have no proof, of well, anything. At present we need every man, just in case a bigger unit of the Legion catch up." The LT said.

"I agree. We need as many men as possible."

"Is he talking to someone down there?"
I start making my way down the steep hill.
Then walk up to the other soldiers.

"Implying a Frumentarii would shoot the Legion."

I sigh.

"You'll regret that if someone dies. But, I'm going to try and get proof tonight. I'm going to call him out and record the conversation. If I get stabbed, then he's the guy. If something bad happens to me soon after, that's proof enough."

I walk down the hill to meet up with the others. Soon I'm standing next to the Heavy er.. James.
I see the other NCR troops standing by. Not ones I've seen before.
"Are you the ones who popped the flare?"

=I keep my Desert Eagle drawn out of caution, just in case the situation devolved=

Well...it can get much worse than this

=I look at the new arrivals=

I was wrong...it may have just gotten worse

A new Trooper walked down the hill.

"Gulliver did, to be exact." I answered.

"As of now Heavy, we don't have any time for a question and answer session with your captain. So, as of now we need to get moving."

"We set up camp a little ways over there, you should come to us."

"If you didn't just notice the Legion Assassins, there will be more, so we should get moving. Nowish." LT 'Ordered'.

"Or, we could set up a trap." I suggested, vaguely.

"Everyone alright down here, any wounded?"
I holster my revolver.

"We're fine. Look, they'd sniff a trap a mile away. And I'm too tired to trek across the Wasteland for half the night. We'll just have to double the sentries."

"Trust me, I know how to set a trap, and as long as your captain doesn't know, the Legion wont know. It's foolproof!" I say.

"Providing there are any Legion still here."

"And if there aren't, we can always disarm the trap and collect up what we used. If there are, bam, we get them."

"Won't the explosions just draw in reinforcements for them?"

"We just shot, fired a flare, and threw an explosive. More explosives wont affect the fact the Legion are coming."

"We won't be rid of the Legion until the Frumentarii is dealt with."

"True. I say we catch him out first."

I take in what all the soldiers are discussing.
"I agree with the heavy. I don't think a trap is the answer."

"Alright. I think we should move camp right about now though."

"If the Legion don't walk into the trap, we'll know that the Captain isn't the Frumentarii, if they do, we'll know it has to be the captain, or whoever else is at the camp, which means you can take him, or whoever else, out without fear of being wrong."

"I'm not afraid of being wrong. I know it's the captain. It's the only possibility. He was the one who chose the patrol route and the camp site. Both times someone got killed."

"But neither me, the LT, Gulliver, Prophet or whoever else from Fox, in simple terms, none of us believe you."

"You don't believe that my entire platoon has been wiped out over the course of 6 weeks... right... Did you take a Radscorpion sting to the skull recently?"

"Well, you guys discuss this and I'll go pack up the camp."
I turn to the ghoul, what was him name? Harry. Yeah, Harry.
"Help me?"

I nod to the trooper then follow him.

I walk back up the hill back to our camp site. I take apart any tent that are put up or partially put up. Then roll 'em up.

=I cock back the action of my Desert Eagle at the news=

Well...this has just gotten worse

=I also load my other two weapons, just ofr the sake of saftey=

Be prepared James, hell's come a knockin'...

Well, we better get ready, and get ready for the hell that's coming.

"Well, I did punch a deathclaw in the chest once... But, I believe your entire platoon being wiped out, yeah, but the fact of your captain being a Frumentarii? There's no proof other than occasions where he was in charge that something bad happened."

"And the fact that the Legion know where we're going before we do."

"It's not hard to follow a platoon of Troopers, Heavy."

"It's a lot harder to know their exact patrol route, trooper."

"Wait, how do we know that you're not the Frumentarii? You seem pretty determined to land this on your Captain."

After rolling up the rest of the tents I grab a couple and head back down the hill. Not able to carry the rest of them.

"Quite possibly because I'm certain it's him and want to avenge my friends?"

I grab the other tents that the soldier left.
I watch the captain for a bit then walk up to him.
"How long have you been in service? If you don't mind me asking."

"Hmm. Even so, where's your defence? What evidence do you have that proves you're not the spy?"

"Exactly why the Frumentarii are so deadly. There isnt any proof."

"It's why we need to keep you, your captain and the last trooper under close watch."
And the newest NCR squad. They come and distract us so that two more men get killed.

The captain looks at us all tiredly.

"LT, I suggest keeping what's left of my platoon with yours, is that agreeable to you?"

I walk a little ways where James had pointed earlier. I let go of the tents and they all hit the ground.
I take my rifle from my back and step forward a little bit. Then I turn around, lay down and rest myself on my elbows again.
My elbows being on the ground of course. My rifle is resting on my lap. That and my eyes feel heavy, making me lost some vision.
And to think I wanted to keep going. I haven't sleep in days.

I shake myself awake.
Remember why.

As our radio guy had been killed, i'd taken over radio control.
It made a noise as a signal came through.

"...runner en route to... position."
The signal was shit, but i could guess what it was.

"Sir, runner en route to us. Orders?"

"Captain, no offense, but considering your platoon has been picked off by Legion for however so long, and one of your men, or you is a Frumentarii, it seems in my mens best interest that we head out, well, without you." The LT answered.

"So. You think it'd be best to let us die? Because this assassin isn't going anywhere. And between you and me-"
He speaks under his breath "I think the Corporal Cook is going to do something drastic if we don't get help."

He looks at me.
"Stay behind and wait for the runner. We'll be about half a klick north of here."
