Chapter 4: Exodus part 2

=i go to the edge of the cover and call up to her= Everything ok? I didn't do something again, did I?

=i duck as it the branch flies by= I'm taking that as a "yes, yes you did."

=i go back inside and lie down by the fire=

=jettisons his armor and heads outisde into the storm climbing on the roof reflecting=

-outloud- y do storms seem calming maybe it's because of the wind and the fact my name means sky

=remember something else about his past he remembers seeing people with weird looking eyes everywhere=

=i start hearing Nalepa Monday again. i start to panic because i don't have my armor with me= Shit...not here....

=i get up and start heading into the forest, away from Jay= Dammit, dammit, dammit, dammit.....not here! Not here!

=i feel myself starting to dream. i can practically feel my eyes dilating as it happens. i scream, trying to drown out the song= NONONONONONONOO!

=i scream again, but the song keeps getting louder. i keep going into the Dream, the ashes, the fires. i scream again, desperate to fend it off=

=i feel someone grab my arm= Stay away, please. I can't control myself with this dream. My actions are mirrored.

=i scream, but it gets cut off as the Dream takes over=

=i start laughing, and try to get up/stand. i look around and struggle/start walking. A tear forms as it continues=

=i ignore the blow, but i still struggle to stand/keep walking, looking at the destruction i caused. i see the survivor. i speak as my dream does= No survivors. All die.

(He starts chanting)
(For no reason)
(He doesnt know what he is saying)
(He just chants)
(He sees something as he closes his eyes)
(A shrine)
(The shrine)
(But to what)
(He continues chanting)

=i move my foot closer to my chest/raise my boot over her face. i kick/stomp down. i kick/stomp again, and again, and again. i start crying as i come out of the dream. i curl up and try to hide from what it seems that i did=

(He snaps out of it)
(He looks around)
(The rain letting up)
(He continues to sit)

=i realize that i am not alone. i look around and i see Jay, curled up. i crawl over to her= Jay! Jay, oh gods, I'm sorry. I never wanted to hurt you. I'm so sorry.

=i see the blood= Gods no. Jay, Jay I'm sorry. If you want me gone, tell me. =i go to hug her, but i stop, unsure of what to do=

(He stands)
(He heads out for the forest again)
(After a while he sees the campsite)
(No-one is there)
(He walks to the fire)
(He sits down and watches the flames)

No. No, no, no, no. Jay....=i make up my mind and hug her tightly, careful of her nose and lip= I'm so sorry. Gods, I'm so sorry. I'll understand if you want me to leave

Water.

My eyes widen at him with the urgency of my request

=i nod, and i collect some water from the rain, as it starts to wither off. i give it to her, trying not to spill any=

I pour the water over my face, washing away the blood

Nose and lip. Jay, I...=i trail off, unsure of what to say=

I wave my hand

(He starts to chant again)
(The fire bringing back the past)
(The shrine is seen more vividly now)
(Three skulls are perched at the top)
(On the foreheads initials were carved)
(He snaps back out of it)
What is this all about

Lip is busted open, and it looks like I...broke your nose. Gods Jay...

=i sit down next to her, afraid to do anything else. i hand my head down=

Coul....Could be...Worse

I put my arm around him and pull him closer

It could be. But...I'm supposed to stronger than this. I'm not supposed to let a song or a dream affect me. I'm supposed to be Dormii Fortuni, master hacker and CQC expert, not a cold-blooded killer.

I pull him closer and put my other arm around him aswell.

Dor....Dormii....It's fi....Fine

=i look up at her= But is it? If I lost control over a song, who's to say that I won't when I take a bite of an apple? Or go sparring?

(He continues sitting)
(Letting the warmth embrace his armor)
(Delving into the fire's beauty)

But is it? =i hang my head again= The only thing that's really been the same for me are these damn lapses. After you, of course.

=i wipe my face as best i can. i grab Jay's hands= What would I be if I weren't with you?

I spit more blood away. Everything starts to go woozy. I pass out on the floor next to Dormii

David awakens, snapping to and drawing his pistol, aiming it up and looking around. He had fallen asleep on Voutan's ship last night. He had a vivid dream regarding the kinds of people that would come after him for ONI, and if they had succeeded, what ONI would surely do to him.

He had been in bar-fights before, and those were difficult. He imagined a GIGANTIC bar-fight of somewhat trained individuals, fighting over each other to get to him. And if they had even thought about teamwork, he would be screwed. He was so frightened, he forgot to take into account the augmentations ONI had administered.

If they had succeeded, even if he was brought back dead, he'd probably just be revived again, and he was sure that ONI had perfected that mind-control chip that still itched in the back of David's skull. The worthless piece of scrap metal worked for several operations before rendered completely useless.

ONI may have even made a sort of ASSASSIN 2.0...That thought made him shiver.

Oh, shit

=i pick Jay up and start carrying her to the base. i slip a few times, but i manage to stay upright. i catch a glimpse of my armor, it still seems to stare at me. i look away and keep going. i make it to the medbay, and lay Jay down. i do my best to patch up her wounds, but I'm not a medic. I do my best to stop the bleeding and wait, sitting down in a chair next to her bed. i fall asleep=

What did that stuff mean
The shrine
The skulls
The chanting.
Do I........have a religion.

(He stands)
(He heads back for the pelican)
(He arrives and sits down)
(He sleeps)

=She wakes up her eyes opening slowly, she realises she slept in the Pelican's bay=
Ugh... I don't even remember making it back here...

=She stands up slowly, her armour still covered in Deltas and Immers blood=
Oh no....

=She tries scrubbing in off, she looks down at her hands soaked in blood=
Why.... What happened back there? I hope Tar-Tun is okay...

=She drops her armour and sits down, she places her hand on her head=
Every nightmare there's a headache...

=She sighs, and slips into her thoughts=
Will they really want to see me...? What I've become..?

(He wakes up)

"So what if you could see the darkest side of me
No one will ever change this animal I have become"

(He looks around)
(He is still just outside of the pelican)

=I slowly awake... still wanting more sleep..=
=The sleeplessness and fractured leg forces me to upheave=
