ZRP-2: Chapter Two, Paradise in Hell

(James)
=I chuckled, but it was short lived=
"Yeah well don't forget, there's still that bodyguard of his. I don't know if he'll be in the same room or not but if he is, it won't be easy for you, you know that right?"

(Sam)
=I stopped outside his door, hesitant to knock. Chances were good that Hibiki was still in there, and I while she gave me her blessing, it still felt weird being in the same room with her=

"Means I have to take the bodyguard out before Slate gets a gun. Just means hiding two knives." Hibiki grinned.

(James)
"Unless Slate is the kind of guy to let his bodyguards watch......though if he's as selfish as I think, the bodyguard won't be in the same room."

(Sam)
=I knocked on the door=

(James)
=Before we could continue, there was a knock at the door. Wheeling over, I opened it to find Sam standing outside=
"Sam, what is it?"

(Sam)
"Mind if I come in?"
=I saw Hibiki at the bed, and my cheeks flushed a little=

"I mean, unless you two are busy, I can come back later."

"We"re not busy." Hibiki said. "Something thr matter?"

(Sam)
=Walking inside the room, I grabbed an empty chair=
"Just wanted to know what the next order of business was. I remember hearing about a Shepherd camp or something nearby?"

(James)
"Yeah that's going to be taken care of, but we're not going to be part of it. Not all of us anyway, just Hibiki."

(Sam)
"What, really?"
=I looked to Hibiki=

"I'm driving a tankfull of soldiers into their camp and wiping them out. The rest of you need to rest andbe ready. It will only get harder later " she answered

(Sam)
"So what we just sit back while you have all the fun? And James, you really want to let her do this by herself?"

(James)
"First off, no one's letting her do anything, but there's not a thing I can actually do to stop her. Second, not like I can fit my wheelchair in the dam tank, and third, she's just driving. The only one risking their lives will be the soldiers she transports."
=Taking a breath, I looked from Sam to Hibiki=

"Besides, that's not exactly the worst of it."
=And I told her about the plan for dealing with Slate=

(Sam)
"Okay now that's crazy."

"No one ever said it wasn't." Hibiki said tiredly.

(Sam)
"Well glad to know I can add myself to the list. You're behind her on this?"

(James)
"No I am not, but it's the best we can do. Slate doesn't like her, but chances are he'll want her in the same room with him to dish out some punishment for her.....insolence."
=I shot an apologetic look at Hibiki=

"That's probably going to be how he sees it, not me."

"That works." She looked to Sam. "I'm counting on you to keep Eve safe. Prove I am not wrong in giving my blessing."

(Sam)
"You don't have to worry about that. But Hibiki.....I still care about James here, and yes I know you're in the same room when I say this, but if anything happens to you, it will devastate him."

(James)
"Well, glad we established I'm in the same room and that you'll fight my battles for me."

(Sam)
"This isn't me fighting a battle for you. This is me trying to get across to the woman you love, that if anything goes sideways in this plan of hers, that it will affect you, deeply."

"You don't think I know that? Who else can get close enough to Slate? You know anyone who could do this besides me? " Hibiki demanded.

(Sam)
"All I'm saying, is that this plan is stupid, crazy, and endangers more than you if we're bringing emotions into this."

(James)
"Alright both of you, stop it. Sam, the fact of the matter is that right now.....right now securing this alliance is more important than any one of us, and Slate stands in the way of it. We need to remove him, now and if doing this crazy ass scheme--no offense--gets it done, than we do it."

"None taken." Hibiki said. She sighed. "I see no other way that guarantees he is eliminated."

(Sam)
=Honestly, there really wasn't besides just launching an all out assault on the floor, but something told me that wasn't in the cards=
"Great......so this is where we're at. Less dealing with the undead more dealing with psychotic power hungry people."

(James)
"Makes me miss the zombies, almost."

"This wouksnt have happendd - or would be easier - if someone hadn't broke cover."
Hibiki looked away.

(James)
"Oh now you're saying I'm his type. As much as I want to entertain the idea of me having to seduce the guy, I'd rather not."

(Sam)
=I couldn't help but snort a little=

"If you had pissed him off instead of me, I would have an easier time seducing me smartass. I can always sleep in the other bed." She threatened.

(James)
Oh now we're back to this again....
"Hibiki, let's be honest. Either way the guy would have been pissed, and he probably would have been pissed at you by association."

(Sam)
"Still, not as pissed at her as he would be at you. She could have walked in there, said she didn't really share your vision, and say all she wants is to be in the nice safe tower."

(James)
=I just started at her, jaw hanging open=

(Sam)
"What? I used to watch a lot of dramas before the outbreak."

"What she said." Hibiki chuckled.

(James)
"Anyway......look, we already know what we're going to do, and right now we're just waiting for the right time to assault the Shepherds."

(Sam)
"Ah, got it."
=I realized I had forgotten what I came here for=

Hibiki sighed. "That all you needed Sam? Or was Eve acting strange or something?" She asked.

(Sam)
"No, she's fine. I guess I just wanted to see what the next move was, and it looks like I got more than I bargained for."

(James)
"Just a bit, I think."

(Sam)
=Getting up from the chair, I walked to the door=
"Hibiki.....good luck, with both the tank and Slate."

"Thanks. Good luck with Eve; she can get clingy." Hibiki responded.

(Sam)
"That's an understatement."
=And then I left the room=

(James)
"So, I suppose the first part is going to be a bit of a cakewalk. Just drive the tank, blow down the wall, and drop off the soldiers."

"Then come back and get laid. Yep. Cakewalk."

When Sam returned, she would find Eve had kept her word and would be sleeping peacefully in her bed.

(James)
=Snorting, I wheeled back to the bed=
"Yeah I think that first bit will be kinda impossible. Need to get better and all."

(Sam)
=Walking back to my room, I opened the door and found Eve asleep on her own bed this time. Good, it had been a while since I actually had a bed to myself. Laying on the second bed, I got under the covers and got some rest. Not outright sleep, I just rested my eyes=

"You said earlier you had ways. Backing out now babe?" She challenged

(James)
"Oh I don't know about backing out, just not really sure if I can give you what you're looking for right now."
=Honestly, nothing would have made me happier than to simply try, but we had a job to do, to focus on=

"What would make me happy would be for you to try your best to relieve my stress and exhaustion once I get back from kicking ass and looking for bubblegum to chew."

(James)
"Heh, and here I am thinking I was the only one that saw that movie. Look, I'll see what I can do, but no promises."

Hibiki kissed James. "In the end...as long as I come back to you, I will be happy." She smiled at him.

Meanwhile, Sammy threw her tail into Eve's face, then flopped onto the bed beside her, purring.

(James)
=I enjoyed the kiss, my finger trailing along her jawline=
"Then I'll be here."

Hibiki smiled as his fingers traced her jaw. "Good. Because driving a tank through Heaven or Hell got old after the fifth time."

(James)
"How about at the end of this, in addition to the Japanese lessons, you teach me how to drive the tank?"
=I smiled a little=

"Maybe." Hibiki said. "I might need to use it's stick shift to sate these fucking hormones."

(James)
=Grinning, I took her hand and pulled her down into the chair with me, so she sat on my lap=
"Don't get any ideas. Last I checked that was my job."

=Still, I had to reign in my desires to try anything. Still needed to focus=

Hibiki rested her forehead against Jamez'. "I know. So once we can again relax, get ready to do your job." She stuck her tongue out at him.

(James)
=God did I feel tempted to do things to that tongue. But I knew where that would lead, so I resisted the urge, and instead mirrored her. I figured hell, might as well mock=

Hibiki laughed. "Now I can't wait to get back." She said. "Think of names. Alright?"

(James)
"I'll try."
=I gave her one last kiss on the cheek, before letting her up. There would be plenty of time for the other stuff later, when we didn't have pressing matters to deal with=

Hibiki flopped on her bed. "Wake me when its time."

(James)
"Oh sure, leave me in the chair.....I'll wake you in an hour. Maybe less, depending on when Cooper feels ready to move out."

Hibiki was already asleep.

(James)
=And so I sat there in the room, keeping watch. I wheeled over to her side of the bed, reaching out a hand for her. As she slept, I gently stroke her hair, even traced soft lines over her cheek. Every fiber of my being wanted to do more, to kiss her, embrace her......but I couldn't. The chair wouldn't let me=

Sammy got up and leapt across to Sam's bed. She crawled onto her chest the started to lick the girl's neck.

(Sam)
=I wasn't asleep, or at least in a deep sleep, so when Sammy the cat jumped on me and started licking my neck, I giggled a little, and reached up a hand to stroke her fur=

Sammy started to purr, flopling onto Sam's chest and tucking her head onto Sam's neck.
She lay there, purring away.

(Sam)
=Smiling, I scratched behind her ear=
"Starting to like me more than Eve Sammy? Good kiity."

Sammy stood up, looked at Sam, turned, stuck her tail up, and leapt over to flop onto Eve's face.
