ZRP-2: Chapter Two, Paradise in Hell

(James)
"Heh, then I've got a bridge you might want to buy."
=Still, aircraft carrier. Hey, zombie outbreak, so stranger things have happened=

"Hmm, wonder if there are any boats here in town? Maybe ride the Mississippi down to the Gulf, find a nice sandy beach or island.......how's that sound?"

"I'd like that...all we'd need is a distiller for water and plenty of seeds and food...maybe some animals..." She grinned. "Make a small island fortress for us and our family..." Hibiki laughed. "Sorry. My dreams..."

(James)
"No, it's good to have dreams. Gives you something to live for."
=I scooted over to her, wrapping an arm around her shoulder, pulling her close to me=

"Then again....not like we could steal a boat and leave everyone behind."

"True...let's steal the aircraft carrier and bring everyone." She started laughing.

(James)
"Live a life of adventure as we sail the high seas."
=I stared off into the distance=

"Captain James Martin.......with his beautiful maiden wife, Hibiki, the master swordsman."

"Maiden? I'm not maiden. No, I'm the beautiful sword master Wife Hibiki." She grinned. "And we haven't even been married. I don't believe you even properly proposed."

(James)
"Well, lack of a proper ring and all. Maybe I can find one in a store nearby? Besides...."
=I got off the bed, and on one knee in front of her, her hand in mine=

"Ring, nor not......would you marry me if I asked?"

Hibiki smiled and leaned over to press her forehead to his.
"Yes."

(James)
=Eyes closed, I smiled. Boy, did that statement make me happy as hell=
"I'll still get the ring though. But if I don't......how do you want to get married? Wedding, or should we just elope?"

"A small wedding...just a small one. Eve and Sam would do..." She smiled. "And if you're late I'll kill you."

Abel sat his pack down on a chair. The entire house was untouched of any monsters. It was certainly one in a million. If it wasn't just outside of town he might consider staying. And if there was some actual food. Food!
Abel hadn't even looked yet. He rushed into the kitchen, and opened a few of the cupboards to find a small stock of food. A lot of it was bad by now, but there were some canned goods. Thank god for canned goods.

(James)
"Wouldn't miss it for the world."
=I kissed her again, rising from the floor and pushing her back down onto the bed from the kiss. My hair, despite my best efforts, was still damp and clung to my skull, drops falling down my neck and even onto her cheeks=

Abel found a can opener, and cut into a can of beans. He grabbed a spoon and began to devour them. Abel's luck was looking up. With this food, along with the stuff he took before leaving the facility, he'll be set for a good week or two.

Hibiki looked up at him.
"Already going for the honeymoon?" She joked, brushing a few drops from her cheeks, grinning.

(James)
=Grinning, I got my arm under her, and flipped us over so that she lay on top of me, so that my damp hair now soaked the bed sheets under me=
"Not exactly, just happy."

"Really now." Hibiki grinned, brushing her hair over her shoulders. "Just got happy? I've been happy for awhile." She teased.

(James)
"Wait until the honeymoon...."
=I kissed her again, still smiling into the kiss=

"I'm holding you to that." She laughed.
But she just relaxed on James, smiling.


Eve murmured in her sleep, adjusting herself against Sam. Her arms tightened around the other girl a bit.

(James)
=My hands traced a gentle line down her back, the tips of my fingers running over the fabric of her shirt. This right here was one of those moments I enjoyed being in, just me and Hibiki alone in the room=
"So.....night is still young, and I'm kinda starving. Wanna grab a bite?"

"Yeah...But I need to check on the kids." She grinned. "I'll meet you there?"

(James)
"Kids?"
=I sat up, bringing her up with me, and it resulted in her still pressed against my chest while she straddled my lap=

"Uh, sure. I'll see you there."

Hibiki smiled and kissed him. "Thanks."
She slipped off and walked out and over to open the door slowly to peek in to check on Sam and Eve.

(Sam)
=I was dozing lightly, Eve still held tight against me. I thought I heard the door open, so I cracked open an eye to see Hibiki standing at the door. All I did was nod to her, and close my eyes again=

(James)
=Getting off the bed, I walked out of the room and for the cafeteria. When I entered, I found Cooper, and five of the other soldiers who helped rescue me sitting at a table and eating. Cooper noticed me and waived me over. So, I walked over=

*Cooper*
"James....how's the hand?"

(James)
=I held it out to look at, turning it over once or twice=
"Still tings a bit, but the doc's gave me something for the pain. About as bad as a headache really."

*Cooper*
"Good. Where's Hibiki? She asleep?"

(James)
"Nah, she's just checking on Eve and Sam. We're getting some food and I'm meeting her here."

Hibiki smiled at Sam, then gently closed the door. She hurried down to find James. She came up and wrapped her arms around him.
"They're fine." She reported. "Hi Cooper."

*Cooper*
"Hey Hibiki. I trust the two of you are doing fine?"

(James)
"Getting there would be the better description really."
=I welcomed the warmth of Hibiki's arm around me=

Hibiki shrugged. "We're doing well." She smiled. "Thanks for your concern."

*Cooper*
"No problem. Just glad we could help you two finally stick it to Slate. I owe you two a drink."

(James)
"Yeah, none for her though."

"Damn. I blame you." She said. "Well, whatever soda you have left I guess." She sighed.

*Cooper*
"Sorry, whatever soda we did have has gone sour by now. All we have is water and whatever beer we've managed to keep fresh."

(James)
"Damn...."

Hibiki pouts. "Water."
She obviously was not happy.

(James)
=I whispered quietly into her ear=
"I'm sure our child will appreciate it."

Hibiki whispers back. "Our child should hurry up and get out of my belly so I can drink.

(James)
"Seems a bit of a terrible reason to want to give birth."
=It was all I could think of to tease her=

"I should slap you." Instead she kissed him. "But then you might get be a crappy ring."

(James)
"Nah, I'd still get you a great ring."
=My stomach growled loudly, reminding me of why we had come here to begin with=

"Uh, maybe we should grab some food?"

"Yes. I'm hungry enough for two people here." She said, grinning.

(James)
=Smiling, I got up from the table, walking over to the buffet table, grabbing a tray and two plates, piling them with food and then walking back to the table, handing Hibik her own plate=
"Here ya go, one order of I have no idea what the fuck this is named."

Hibiki laughed, then found and took a seat, setting her tray down. She said something quietly then started to eat.
"Thanks dear."

(James)
"No problem."
=I happily dug into my food, eating with reckless abandon I was so hungry=

Hibiki was demolishing her food with tactical precision, finishing far ahead of James and going for seconds.
She threw herself at her second helping, again engaging with tactical precision.

(James)
=I looked at her with something close to fear in my eyes. Hell, so did Cooper=
"Geez, did the food insult you or something?"

"I am eating for two people. Deal with it." Hibiki said.

And so it was, she finished her food again, this time pushing the tray away as James got three-fourths the way through his own.
"I was hungry. It happens when you're stressed, angry, happy, etc."

(James)
"Uh, just remember we still need to feed an army here. Try not to eat everything."

"I only ate two trays, not the entire cafeteria." She retorted, frowning.

(James)
=I snorted=
"Yeah, today, for dinner. What about every other day?"

She scowled.
"Details. Details."
She remained silent.

*Cooper*
=Even he couldn't help but chuckle=

(James)
"Yeah well, enjoy it while it lasts. Pretty soon we'll be heading back to town."

"Great. No free food, no amazing beds...Least you'll be forced to sleep in my bed." She stuck out her tongue at James.

(James)
"heh, yeah. That'll be nice."
=Plus, it would mean being back with Harry, and the at the inn. That place felt more like home than anywhere else right now=

She smiled happily at him, then leaned in closer. "Can we get married before we leave?" She actually blushed. "It's actually...nice here, ya know? Would be...really nice."
