| Okay here me out, I don't wanna here 'we have so many RPs' or something. Just read.
Okay, last night I had a revelation unto myself. The RPs we have here are either dead or on their last legs. The HRP is going painfully slow, the ZRP is getting by on small spurs of activity and then just a small number of people, the MERP is just another small group of people, the FORP is only making it because of me being an ass, and the Rise is just sorta... there. Nightfall and Light and Dark are hardly active in themselves either. So yeah, I don't wanna hear anything about how we already have so many RPs >.>
Ahem, anyway, I've been thinking, we haven't really had a real sci-fi RP thing lately. HRP is sci-fi, yeah, but it's very typical and not all that open nor expandable. I'd love to get a real "high tech, low life" RP going, without much space travel, and lots of bright lights and advanced tech. This is still on the drawing board, I'm just sharing the idea here to see what people have to say. Really, I'd love feedback and help with this, so feel free to say whatever you want. | |

| - History:
The War to End All Wars. The overstatement of the millennium. It was bloody and violent, to a then unimaginable degree. But as was expected by many, another followed, and then more, each far greater and more deadly than that before them. Humanity lost its basic instincts and needs and violence took control, the need to dominate. Even now, in 2154, most humans hardly remember what it was like to live without war.
So much time, money and research has been spent adapting warfare to yield better, more atrocious results. New tools of combat, better weapons of war, and devices that can yield unimaginable horrors, those are what now rule the world. Civilians, scientists, politicians, all know war. All remember war. While most humans live in the safety of the big cities, behind great walls of brick and steel, others live almost their entire lives never seeing the city lights. In the plains of war, there’s little but ash, barren waste and burning rubble. Warfare is about destruction now, not expansion.
In 2052, a conflict known as the Second Crusade was unveiled to the people. While no physical contact had been enacted during the war before then, forces were now firing on each other, and casualties were appearing. The promises made by the Great Powers was that no innocent man, woman, or child would experience the savagery of war. And to this day, that promise has been kept.
War has spread all across the world, and is waged in almost every single continent, but thanks to the works of the Great Powers, it has been detained, to only wage in certain countries and over certain borders. The Southern Americas, Western Asia, and Eastern Europe hardly resemble their lands of history now, burnt and scathed, and damned.
It’s hard to think in the space of ten years we turned the economic world into one mass being, and managed to diminish the expenditure problems that were turning the merchant conflicts into a financial war, and then not even five years later implement a mass world law code, and yet for over fifty years we’ve been unable to anything to halt the violence of our mentalities.
- Countries:
In 2071, after nearly twenty one years of skirmished conflict, the Wars of Expansion finally ended, and the world was changed forever, as the great superpowers of the globe had grown double in size after gaining so much of the lands they had struck against.
Republic of the Americas – North America, Canada, Mexico, Guatemala, El Salvador, Honduras, Nicaragua, Costa Rica, Panama, Colombia, Venezuela Major Locales: New York, Chicago, Los Angeles, Washington, Toronto, New Mexico, San José A superpower unlike ever before, the Republic of the Americas has become one of the most powerful megaliths of it's era, the foundation for the new age that has been beckoned forth, and paralleled only by one other great power in the world. President Wes Alagre of the New York Upper Districts is revered by his countrymen for being the fighting force behind the growing Enforcement, the company behind law enforcement all across the globe. Though the country has started to slow, it's efforts outside the homeland are never ending, and it's footing in the war is challenged only by that of the Empire.
Asiatic Empire – China, Mongolia, Nepal, Bhutan, Bangladesh, Burma, Laos, Thailand, Vietnam, Cambodia, Malaysia Major Locales: Beijing, Shanghai, Hong Kong, Kuala Lumpur, Bangkok Said to be the reason the world stands where it does today, the Asiatic Empire of Liu Guodong stands atop the world order and taunts its everlasting power to the rest of the worlds inhabitants. Though still riddled with endless poverty and ripe with overpopulation, the Empire continues to grow and persist, it's factories working every day and night to supply the world. And their footing in the war is slowly growing too.
Oceania – Australia, New Zealand, Papa New Guinea Major Locales: Sydney Though not a superpower by any means, it's influence in the United Continents Council is rather great, being an almost entirely outside view of the goings on of the world within, able to subjectively comment on the events and passings of the world. A major lead in cybernetics, Oceania is under constant stress from the possibility of attack from the Asiatic Empire, despite the reassurances of the UCC.
Soviet Union – Russia, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, Ukraine Major Locales: Moscow, Saint Petersburg The third of five superpowers. The Soviet Union operates unlike any other continent before it, existing not as a country anymore, but as a military state; every man is taught to use a gun, and kill. Every man is conscripted, and at fifteen every man is sent to fight on the front lines. These defences have left the country untouched by the ravages, and surprisingly bounced back onto their economy, and made them the wealthiest country outside of the Americas. Their impending threats have the world on it's knees.
German Holy Roman Empire – Germany, Austria, Czechoslovakia, Poland, Denmark, Hungary, Slovenia, Croatia, Bosnia, Serbia, Romania, Bulgaria, Macedonia, Albania, Greece, Italy Major Locales: Berlin, Rome, Athens The fourth and possibly weakest superpower in spite of it's size, the German Holy Roman Empire has turned into the epicentre of commercial growth, it's cities filled with the rich. It is a widely known fact that the German Holy Roman Empire has less Slums than any other power in the world, which says something for the predicted first to fall in this conflict.
British Kingdom – United Kingdom, Ireland, Belgium, Netherlands, Switzerland, France Major Locales: London, Paris, Dublin The support and constant watchmen of the UCC and indeed the world itself, the British Kingdom has become widely viewed as the 'True Enforcement,' it's skill at holding the war at bay and ensuring the safety of the continents an utmost priority. Though the country is falling into depravity and recession, it's people never falter from their noble and stalwart ways.
Democratic Republic of Northern Africa – Egypt, Sudan, Libya, Chad, Central African Republic Major Locales: Cairo, N’Djamena The growing civility of the African continent, the Democratic Republic has become a major question in the war, due to it's proximity of nearby warring countries and it's possible worth in the aftermath of the conflict. Due to this it has tried to abstain from the conflict, though no country can push away war forever.
India – India, Sri Lanka Major Locales: Dubai A peaceful land, surprisingly left away from the war, India has started to operate as a supplier, offering weapons and vehicles to any who can pay, choosing to take no side in the conflict.
Japan – Japan, South Korea, North Korea Major Locales: Tokyo, Yokohama Japan has officially chosen to abstain from the war, not wanting to take part in something it views so fruitless.
- Cybernetics:
• Skeletal System Cybernetics o Easily the least advanced form of cybernetics, and yet the hardest and most painful to implement and get used too, Skeletal Cybernetics are extremely common and used to provide foundation for most cybernetics. When used on single bone structures, they are commonly named after the bones being replaced on medical and government notes, so as to remind what it is that has been removed and changed. However, if the cybernetics encompass something from one point to another, such as an arm, it will instead be named after the points the cybernetics start to where they end, examples being Clavicle-Distal Phalanx, Femur-Distal Phalanx, and Cervical Vertebrae-Coccyx. • Muscular System Cybernetics o Perhaps the second most common system to Skeletal, Muscular System Cybernetics are extremely difficult to produce and maintain, yet simple to implement and operate. Much like the Skeletal System, the muscles are implemented and named just like they are on the natural scientific body. However, no matter how many are implemented, they will always simply be named in the singular of the muscle they are replacing. • Nervous System Cybernetics o Extremely rare, and only implemented in people who both wish to have it and can afford it. The method is highly advanced and difficult to implement, and are often times not as effective in cybernetics as they are in natural flesh, but people are always still pleased with the ability to properly feel things in their day to day world. • Respiratory System Cybernetics o An advanced cybernetic system, the Respiratory System is implemented if the natural and original respiratory system is too damaged to sustain the human body. More often than not, these are supplied with typical cybernetic implants due to sever bodily damage in combat. • Circulatory System Cybernetics o This system is entirely rebuilt when major cybernetic implants are placed into the human form, replacing human blood with advanced energy providing liquid, and moving said liquid to the important parts of the cybernetic constructs while continuing to operate as normal blood. Many wealthy people get this enhancement early in their lives with or without cybernetics, more often than not as a personal statement. o Lymphatic System Cybernetics are very uncommon, but still notable for being implemented when the human heart has been damaged. The cybernetic replacement is very fragile, and the Lymphatic System is quickly implemented to try and keep the human living. Most times, people with Lymphatic System Cybernetics die at very young ages. • Digestive System o Surprisingly, the digestive system is still used in cybernetic enhancements, even on individuals with over 65% of their bodies transferred. This is due to the Digestive System Cybernetics having a secondary capability of providing power to the cybernetic implants and being easily excreted as smoke waste rather than physical waste, and is often times cited as a very important part of cybernetic advancements. Numerous engineers continue to work with this System, in hopes of advancing the simplicity of implementation and health standards. • Defunct Systems o Certain systems are removed entirely due to incapability’s with modern cybernetics, cybernetics proving to be more capable, or for simple safety. The Urinary, Excretory, Reproductive and Immune system are four such systems, removed due to being unneeded or incapable of transferring into a cybernetic body.
- Licenses:
Since the Signing of the Union Treaty, licenses have become the major and primary method of operation across the globe, passing for everything from marriage to driving. Though often contested with other, more effective methods, the simplicity and workability of licenses has left them untouched by the attempts.
• Medical Licenses o Licenses that indicate what kind of operations a person has been involved in; these are used to ensure secure data, and that people do not investigate into medical procedures they should not have access too – such security was enforced ever since May of 2047, in which large numbers of medical files were duplicated and corrupted, wreaking unimaginable levels of havoc. • Operating Licenses o A license system that encompasses the right and legal capability to operate on individuals within medical facilities. Integrated at the same time as the Medical Licenses, they have the overall same purpose to ensure that unregistered individuals don’t find their way into important medical files. • Vehicular Licenses o Unlike modern licenses, the Vehicular License of this time are indications that a person has gained the ability to properly operate certain vehicles. More advanced versions of these licenses can be achieved if one wishes to, though they require far less work than before and also require mentally satiable people. Another version of the license is also required if a person is or becomes a cybernetic organism. • Credit Licenses o While originally a rather old system, Credit Licenses have not changed too much from their original format as ‘credit cards’. Due to there being only two active banking agencies, and neither one being the others rival, Credit Licenses are commissioned by the government instead, and can be accepted fully by both agencies. • Firearm Licenses o A license acquired after practicing in proper training of handheld firearms. While the license does on occasion have more in-depth variants, most firearms licenses are standard, abiding to the laws of the related city or nation. • Weaponry Licenses o While there is a firearm license, there is a second license intended entirely for all other forms of weapons; swords, maces, knives, explosives, etc. Far easier to attain than a Firearm License, most people actually manage to attain a Weaponry License in their life in spite of actual need or life requirements. • Enforcement Licenses o A license implemented and given honorably to all people who have proven themselves capable of enforcing laws; police, special operations, and even registered vigilantes or citizens who have shown great assertiveness with the law. • Organization Licenses o Licenses used within organizations and commissioned to employees as a further identification to the employees, and an advanced variant of the license is used by the CEO and Founder, who both have supreme access to all matters of the organization. • Media Licenses o More of a personal key than a license, these are used as representations amongst hosts and celebrities that can professionally differentiate them from each other, such as Radio to TV or TV to Cinema. • Self-Founded Business Licenses o A simple and uncommon license, often found amongst Slum citizens in hopes of opening a stall and making money, more often than not to make enough money for them or their families. • Animal Licenses o Due to modern living standards, a license is required for people who wish to keep an animal in the cities or slums, to ensure they know how to properly treat the creature in question within the applicable world setting. • Hunting Licenses o Required for professional hunting outside the city limits, normally requiring years of training to ensure the recipient is mindful of endangered or harmful creatures as well as capable of surviving exposed periods beyond the city limits. • Liquor Licenses o Only ever seen in the Upper Class City Districts now, Liquor Licenses are given to people who, by law, are allowed and capable of selling alcoholic beverages. Pretty much unchanged for early 100 years. • Marriage Licenses o Encompassing everything from marriage certificates to a persons legal merit to perform public or private marriages to the people. • Mech Licenses o One of two licenses commissioned almost naturally with soldiers, and occasionally with police forces, that indicates the force and it’s personnel have the will and drive to operate with and alongside Walker and Crab Mechs. Numerous citizen movements in the Slums have involved trying to make this license available for citizens. • Aircraft Licenses o A license given to pilots, both military and civilian, and often times rather difficult to ascertain, despite the simplicity of flying modern ships when compared to older ones.
