Shaking my head, I took a brief look out the window, before speaking again. "No. You won't. After all, I had dozens of chances to ruin this whole trip, but I didn't. I made the choice to come along on this hunt, and why?" I cast a glance at both of them. "For the first time, I have people that notice me beyond someone to push around. And that means something. Something I'm willing to go to great lengths to protect." He was silent for a bit. "Or maybe I'm just worried that if I said anything one of you would make my life a living hell."

Rei was shaken off, but persistent. Not going for sitting, she laid across Lily's lap.
"Momentai."

"It shouldn't be long before we get to Pendragon," I said, "Then it's just a matter of walking north until we get to the Ashlands. I think I know where the demon's been hiding,"

gonna see if they got any good food on this train

=gets up and sets the newspaper down then begins walking down the compartments when she walks by one and hears lily's voice coming through the door talking about killing a demon so she decides to stay close and listen in=

why would lily be here and what is she doing talking about killing demons for and who is she talking to?

"So, Jason," I said, "Have you ever seen the northern border of Lamorak? I've heard it's quite shocking to see it,"

"Not often no. Well, not at all actually; my family and I rarely ever traveled far from our home town." I couldn't shake the feeling that we were being watched. It was a strange sense, something that made the back of my neck twitch. This wasn't a sixth sense of anything, just one of those primal instincts everyone's born with. Whether they paid attention to it or not was what made them different. Turning my head, I looked around the small compartment, but honestly we were on a train full of people. Not like we were alone to begin with. Still though......I looked at Rei, and without saying anything, I lifted one of my hands to my eye, the same eye that her own eye-patch was covering, and whispered so quietly I may as well have mouthed the words, "Look around."

Now, why Jason would be worried that someone could hear them through a osed door on a speeding train was beyond her. But she humored him. Lifting her eye patch, she looked around...and found an aura outside.
Frowning, she pointed to the door. "Someone is outside." She whispered to her friends. Slipping off of Lily, she replaced the eye patch. Her hand gripped Akatsuki. "Shall I'm?"

"Maybe scare them," I whispered. "An injury would just come back to bite us later on." However, I found myself reaching for my own soul, ready in case anything happened. For all I knew it was the same bully, or one of his friends, following me for some payback.

I stood up quietly, glaring at the door. "Scaring them would do no good if they've been eavesdropping," I said to my friends, "Whoever you are, open the door,"

Why are so many people stepping into the cabin? I thought to myself, clearly getting annoyed. Hell, I even spoke aloud about this, not hiding the sarcasm. "No just step into the cabin you weren't invited to," I stated plainly, voice dripping with sarcasm and perhaps a hint of venom.

=she says bluntly keeping her stoic look=

"Open the door and show yourself sure," I responded, doing my best to not turn hostile. Well, more hostile. "But we didn't exactly invite you to step inside. Why were you skulking about outside the door anyway?"

=turns her eyes to him and stares him down=

heard voices that sounded farmiliar and wondered what they were doing here

"So instead of knocking you just stood there and listened? We were having a private conversation here; a bit rude of you to just listen in on it."

=leans against doorway and keeps eyes focused=

"So far, yeah. We're just on a trip to my hometown here......my mom's sick, and I wanted to see her. They're just....they wanted to tag along and see the sights."

=starts sounding annoyed=

i'm not stupid i know what your up to and i want to know why would you even try it?

I actually managed to put on a confused look. "What do you mean? What do you think you heard?"

"Demon? Hunt one? Wow you really don't know what you heard." I sighed, and hoped that a) my poker face would hold and that b) I could work up a convincing lie. It hit me then, what I could use....no matter how much I didn't want to. "We mentioned demons because I'm going back to my hometown to confront a personal demon." I lifted my soul a little so she could see it. "I got my soul, when I killed the man who had me cornered in an alley. Not a day goes by I don't think back to that moment. Everytime I take a shower, I can still feel his blood all over me, see the light leave his eyes in my dreams. So I'm going back home, to see to my mother first....and deal with my demons next."

=sighs=

drop the act i'm being honest with you now it's your turn to tell the truth

Standing up, I was quickly getting mad. "I am telling you the truth. You don't like it, fine by me because frankly I don't give a damn if you believe me or not."

"So, you come here, start accusing us of doing something insanely stupid and life threatening, and when my friend tells a complete stranger something personal and private you spit in his face?"
Rei was not amused. "Get the hell out of our cabin and away before I turn you into bacon strips." She growled.

=stands up and stares then down unblinking=

i know what i heard and it sounded like you want to do kill a demon to get an edge on other students or am i mishearing things

I was a little surprised by Rei, when she came to my defense, threatening to potentially kill our guest. It made me feel a little comfortable, having a friend like that especially given that I was already feeling ill; sharing the moment I got my soul, reliving it with words more than images and dreams.....it always made me feel sick. But then the girl continued to stand against us, clearly intent on getting an answer. One she had definitely not earned by the way she was trying to get it.

"Well you heard wrong. So get your ears checked, and get out because I'm tired of playing this game."

I'd stood there through all of this, sword in my hand, and listened to Jason try to talk us out of the mess I'd gotten us in. I could feel myself shaking, getting angrier by the second, and hearing Rei trying to get the charade working pushed me.

I raised my soul pointing it at Ashiri, the blade quivering slightly,
"Do you really want to do this? Risk your life just to find out if you eavesdropped right?" I demanded, my voice shaking as I spoke.

When Lily raised her sword, I immediately freaked, hand rising up and gently landing on her wrist. "No, no Lily, Rei. We are not going to hurt someone, no matter how angry they make us."

=turns to lily and keeps her one hand on her soul and the other on her other dagger=

i could ask you the same question,are you willing to risk yours just to get further then everyone else?

"We are not trying to get further, you stupid twit! Are you so steeped in denial, that even when you hear the truth you refuse to accept it? We're going to my home for a visit, that's all."

"Jason," I said, "It doesn't matter now. She knows,"

I glared at Ashiri as I resumed speaking to her,
"I am, I decided that I'd do anything I could to become an angel, even if it means I have to put my life in danger, but what I'm asking is how far are you going to go with this,"

Rei lowered Akatsuki and stepped back to lean against the wall.
"Fucking eavesdroppers."

Sighing, I stepped away from Lily, sitting back down and not even looking at Ashiri. She may have won this round, but I highly doubted she was going to win the affection of anyone in this compartment. "So what, you're going to round us all up and take us back to the academy?" I asked, still not looking at her.

=takes a hand off her dagger=

I actually laughed, though it was more of a harsh bark than anything else. "Well you're certainly off to a good start, asking to help. Eavesdrop on us first, then threaten to 'take this as far as it needs to go,' what makes you think we're going to just ask for help?" It was strange, me acting like this......ass. But to be fair, she made me mad, got under my skin, and was just giving me the impression of a stubborn, meddlesome girl who wormed their way into things that never concerned them in the first place.

=turns to jason and looks at him=

i said if need be and and i offered my help never said you had to accept or not

"I don't want it." Rei said. "Come in here acting all high and mighty. You wanted to help? You blew it."

Well it certainly feels like we have no choice here... All I could do was sit silently, arms folded as I looked out the window.

And if we say no, she has blackmail material, I thought, both angrily and sullenly. Putting my soul back into the saya, I spoke,
"Fine. You can come. But you should know that I won't be looking out for you," I sat down in my seat, still glaring at Ashiri.

=leans against the wall and waits=

"You'll probably regret this," I said, folding my arms, "People shouldn't involve themselves in things that don't concern them,"

I looked out of the window again as we crossed into Lamorak, it wouldn't be long until we reached Pendragon now.
"Don't get in the way, Ashiri,"

The usual happy go lucky one, Rei was a bit sulky. Again sitting on Lily's lap, Rei just sat there quietly, not paying attention to Ashiri. She unfortunately had to feel her aura, which was a huge annoyance to be honest.
She sighed.

Sometimes, when you get older, you forget things. Things like, your pants, your keys in the door, your weapons, maybe even your soul. And sometimes, what you forget, comes back to bite you in the ass, like kids, past lovers, or even dogs you forgot to feed this morning and look at you like a walking talking steak and they just want a piece of that ass! -ahem- More importantly, sometimes you forget where you were going and why, and realize too-late that you destroyed the only piece of evidence that told you what you were doing. These are generally pretty bad things that can happen. Especially if you're sitting on top of a train, refusing to go inside because you believe that paying for a ticket supports the destruction of the environment despite the fact that you live in a city that does that everyday... for fun.

Luckily, Nick doesn't have that problem called dementia and knows exactly why he's on the train, heading towards that...uh... monster...thing... with the... the... uh.. stuff. Anyway, he's following a bunch of young people who think they can take on a demon. and young Nick can not stand for that, well, he could, but the school can not, so here he is. a no expenses paid vacation to demon-land. On top of a train. With wind blowing in his face, and dirt flying into his nose, mouth, and hair, and generally making things unpleasant. Good thing he's in his 3rd year, where they learn about surviving through demon hunts and stake outs and... survivally stuff.

*The narrator is coughing*

I should really stop talking to myself, I keep swallowing bugs.

*Didn't see that coming did you?*

And now, we were in Lamorak.

Orion sighed, leaning against one of the doors, wishing he could bash his head against it, but knew it wouldn't exactly be the smartest thing to do. Not to say he was smart, by any means, but he was from from stupid.

Slowly, he made his way back down the train, wondering if he could remember where that group had been sitting.

I leaned back in my seat, not bothering to push Rei off my lap again, and her weight might stop me from hitting Ashiri.
"Don't blame me if you get hurt,"

"And in the event we survive and get back, don't expect us to become friends. Not after this introduction," I said without giving Ashiri a glance. A few landmarks were recognizable, and I realized we were getting close to the train station. "We're getting close," was all I said.

"Good, the sooner we get this over with, the sooner we can go back to Sanctum," I said, closing my eyes as I tried to relax and calm down, "Rei, I can't feel my leg,"

Rei sighed and slid off Lily's lap. She then hugged Lily with both arms. "Better?"
