Soul Academy RP

He nodded to himself, thinking, sighing and raising a hand to rub his head, letting go of his sword and letting it fall to down, impaling itself a mere inch from his foot. He looked down, blinking.
"That could've been worse."

He looked up again, ignoring his sword for a moment as he kept speaking.
"So... Okay, Magnus would be the closest to the Pit right?"
He wasn't use to this kind of travel really. He and his family had always walked places, this sorta transport was something totally different to him, and it caught him off guard unlike anything else.

He looked at one of the other members of the compartment and smiled at her.
"And hi. Oh, yeah, my names Orion. Sorry if this was rude of me."

"Yes, Magnus is the closest station to the pit," I answered, "My name is Lily Ito,"

I like bananas. And Pancakes. But mostly bananas. These were the thoughts that entertained Nick as he laid upon the roof of the train. They were empty thoughts. Meant to distract his ever darkening mood. "Boop a doopity boop doop doop boop badoop, ha." Irrelevant thoughts raced around his head. lightening his mood for a few seconds, before his analytical nature brought him back to a less than cheery mood.

He watched the clouds move, watching them get carried by winds unfelt. by hands unseen the spread apart and they collided once more, like a child playing in wet sand.

Nick inhaled deeply, taking a breath to calm himself, and exhaled slowly, to be in control of himself. The black thoughts still sat present in the back of his mind.

Magnus. Home. A place where absent fathers and caring mothers let their children run around in abundant independence. A place where his heart should be, but is not. A place where jealous minds' and wicked hearts' haunt. An uncomfortable place, this town, these people, this home was.

However, it was a place where his inborn talents were useful. Observing, Analyzing, Manipulating, and Running. He could observe events, analyze them to the point that their base nature was revealed, manipulate outside events that effected the observed event, see what happens, and if it doesn't work out in his favor, run. Sometimes, all it takes is a smile, and someone makes a better decision. Sometimes it takes a near death experience, or the near death experience of someone else, for someone to make a better decision.

For his time growing up in Magnus, he knew all of four people, that weren't related to him, or a teacher he had. He didn't even talk to them that often when he was in town.

Orion tapped the side of the compartment, nodding to himself and trying to think of why he'd want to go to Magnus anyway. Why was he even on this train? His brain wasn't the most helpful thing in his arsenal really.

He looked over at the blonde, smiling.
"Lily Ito. You wouldn't happen to be from Koga would you? A name like that, I think you'd have to be."
He leant in a little, holding himself back by gripping the sides of the compartment doorway tight, smiling happily, not aware of his own intrusion.

"Yes," I answered, "I'm from Koga, why?" I looked at him, noting that his soul was a type of sword, and trying to place a region to it and his name.

Orion moved in more, leaning up against the side of the door and smiling a little. He'd met only few people from Koga, and he'd always wanted to go there. And going with a pretty girl never hurt.

"I love Koga! I've always wanted to go there. I don't know much about it, but it seems amazing, a really fun place to go, with all sorta of history."

"Koga's very nice, but I wouldn't say 'fun', there's actually not much to do there," I eyed Orion suspiciously as he moved further into the compartment, "Unless you go to Kyoto, then there isn't much to look at,"

"Well. There are some pretty forests. Especially a sakura forest in fall. A rare find though, but not if you know where to look." She grinned. "I'm Rei Sizuke. Lily's friend." She scooted a bit back to get more comfortable. "She's my best friend!"

Orion smiled and looked at Rei, nodding happily.
"Rei Sizuke? Judging by your name and your input I'll assume you're from Koga too!" He scratched through his jacket at one point, before grabbing the sword out of the floor and holding it close to his chest.
"So... what's a sakura forest? A sakura is a pink flower, my father brought some back from one of his trips to Koga long ago. I can't imagine a whole forest of them..."

Rei giggled. "Its exactly what it sounds like. A whole forest of sakura trees. Not many exist...in the wild. Many people have orchards for them...but none of those can compare to one in the wild."

"My home is near to a Sakura forest," I said, absent-mindedly, thinking of my village with a small twinge of sadness, "They're beautiful when in bloom,"

"I lived a bit away on the other side od the same forest." Rei said.

Orion looked from one to the other as they spoke, trying to imagine a whole forest full of those beautiful pink flowers. He'd seen many things from his fathers travels, but few things compared to that one single flower in his opinion.
"That's amazing! I live in the Fire Pit... We don't get too much out there, I can tell ya."

I had returned from my venture to the rest room. This train was very quiet for the amount of people on this machine. The companion was looking out the window gazing at the rapidly moving environment. As I sat down I wondered why she was on the train. But alas there was no need to know for soon I would be at the mercy of a store and its on sale pocky sticks. I picked up my rucksack form the floor and searched through it to see if I had brought what I needed.

"The Fire Pit is mostly desert, correct?" I asked, trying to imagine it. I'd only seen the grassy Koga and Sanctum in my life, but I'd probably get to see more of the world when I graduated Sanctum.

"boop boop ba boop, boop boop badoopaboop. hoop de loop boop. boop boop badoop-" Yawn. "hueeeeeeeahhhhhhhhhhhhh." Nick yawned, stretching out his arms and legs, the muscles quivering in their extension. He looked much like someone having electricity run through them. Exciting. Feeling new blood being pumped into his muscles, Nick extrapolated himself from his laid position. looking about the roof of the train, out of habit, not looking at or for anything in particular. Or perhaps that is what he told himself, he may very well be looking for a distraction. Something to encapsulate his attention. His interest. Perhaps something as fleeting as the wind? As deep as the ocean? Or perhaps something trivial?

Finding nothing of immediate interest, Nick stood up and stretched once more, in the vertical position. The wind throwing his hair back behind his head, flowing in the air like fish through water. It also created drag. Nick had to lean forward a little bit to compensate for the pulling of his hair from his head. Squinting his eyes, he put one foot in front of the other, moving forward, towards the lead car.

Orion nodded, shrugging a little as he tried to think of something worthy of note. "Yeah, mostly... some lava and stuff scattered around the place, you know, hence the name 'Fire Pit' but other than that, it's just desert desert desert."
The young man sighed, leaning up against the doorway more. He didn't miss it, he had to admit, but it was his home. He couldn't live in Koga or somewhere like that, no matter how beautiful it was.

"It'd be a nice change to see some of those sakura forests."

=notices the guy get back due to the door opening and closing but continues to stare out the window while thinking to herself about recent events=

what is going on here,where could she be going with all those weapons?




this is better, but still needs changing from suspecting something is going on.

"I've never seen anything other than sakura forests and grass," I said, "What about you Jason?" I asked, turning my head to him. He'd been silent this entire time, and I felt guilty about snapping at him earlier.

To be completely honest......I had been starting to drift off into a nap, before Lily asked me something that brought me back. Shaking my head, I looked at her with an apologetic look. "Sorry, what?"

"Have you been anywhere other than Lamorak and Sanctum?" I said again, "And what's Lamorak like?" I added, seeing as we were all discussing our home regions.

"Oh....no, I've never been anywhere outside of Lamorak really. Sanctum is the first place I've been to outside my home." Sitting up a little straighter, I looked out the window at the world that passed us by. "Lamorak.....it's a crowded place, when you're in the towns. When you're out in the country, there's forests, and lots of hills. It's all very.....beautiful, when you know where to look."

Orion didn't know much about Lamorak either, though he'd heard of it so often. He listened intently on the two of them as they spoke.

"I've never seen the beauty of overcrowded places, and I've heard Lamorak is one of the most overcrowded," I paused, "I prefer peace and quiet, in all honesty,"

It was enough to make me grin a little at her, which was saying something given that I was starting to dislike her. But maybe she could bring me around. "Same.....trust me, there are places in the towns you don't want to walk alone in."

"That's not a problem exclusive to Lamorak, though. Children weren't allowed near the sakura forest in my village; there were wolves," I answered, a sudden shiver running up my spine, "The adults would have to take us with weapons,"

"Well, that's one danger. I was mugged in town.......it's actually not something I like to talk about really." My hand drifted down to my soul, an unconscious effort.

=turns her head and faces the other student=

any idea how long the ride will be?

"My goodness. I didn't think there was so much danger outside of the Fire Pit. I... I sort of thought it was exclusive..."
More and more, Orion realized how little he knew of the rest of the world around him. It was so peculiar to hear all of this.

"It shouldn't be that long now. Maybe half an hour," I stated still in my seat looking in my pack. It was a dull ride so I decided to see what this person is doing.

"There is this big sale going on at a mall, that's where I'm heading. What about you?"

I saw that talking about that made Jason uncomfortable, so I decided not to press him for any details, instead, I turned to Orion,
"What kind of dangers were there in the Fire Pit?" I asked, moving my soul from my lap to the empty space next to me.

"Oh, well if you ignore the creatures and demons, then we have winds that could rip skin straight off the bone and a sun so strong it could turn flesh into ash!"
He drew back for a second, clearing his throat awkwardly.
"Well, that's what we tell people, anyway. The heat is unlike anything else, and coupled with what you might call storm winds, it's near unliveable unless you were raised there. There are times where you can see nothing but sand for miles and miles..." He rested his head on the side of the compartment door, reminiscing.

"It doesn't sound pleas-" I was cut off by the sound of an intercom on the train, announcing the arrival at the station.

"Now arriving at New Peragus, Station B. The next stop will be Lamorak, Station A.

There was noise outside, doors sliding open and people walking down the train to the nearest doors, filling up the pretty narrow corridor.

I was starting to get.....uncomfortable, with this new guy. Mostly that was just my own uneasiness towards people in general so it was hardly personal. But still, there was something about the way he kept by the door; like an insistent intruder who kept their foot in the door, and it honestly made me want him to make up his mind. I was about to tell him to either leave or take a seat, but that was before the train's intercom, announcing our arrival at the New Peragus station; next stop was home.

"New Peragus, Station B is in..." I said, thinking back to the train route map, "It's in the centre, I think. And Lamorak station A is in Pendragon,"

I looked over at Jason, "Where in Lamorak are you from?" I asked.
Then something struck me, Orion hadn't moved.
"Aren't you getting off in New Peragus?"

Shifting uncomfortably in my seat a little, I blushed a bit. "Pendragon..." he whispered quietly though he was sure they could hear him. Honestly, despite the fact that we were out here hunting a demon, what had me worried the most was the possibility of running into my parents. I loved them and everything, but there was the possibility of them kinda......embarrassing me in front of my friends. Doubted I'd ever survive it.

Rei snuggled onto Lily's lap again, watching Jason. She smiled softly.
His home was Pendragon? Cool.
"I love the name Pendragon." She said. "I finally get to see it!"

Dear lord, I nearly panicked. "Uh....uh why do we have to see all of it? I mean we're just going there to shop, right? Not look around."

He sheathed his twin daggers. The Malakhim in his 3rd year at Sanctum Academy stood atop the train as it ground to a halt... and nearly fell off as his body followed the laws of physics. Righting himself and pulling his hair from his face, he looked around. New Peragus. Nova urbis. The new city. Buildings looked new, made of different stuff than Magnus. Too many tall buildings. he thought to himself, " these buildings look like they'd be scraping the sky." He sat down on the roof of the train, interested in this new city, but bored without directive.

As the train came to a halt, I began picking up my item.

"Well this is my stop, good luck finding that person."

It was crowded getting off the train with many getting on at the same time some got off. The sun beamed a nice warmth on me as I left the train. I could see my destination from the platform. It was one of the biggest outlets in this side of the country. I took one last look at the train and took off.

Orion blinked, looking around for a moment, after shaking out of his daze. He looked at Lily, and the gears in his head slowly began to rotate before he realized she was right - this was his stop.
"Oh crap!"
And like that, he broke off into a run, slamming right into someone in the train, apologizing, and pushing through a little. He'd spent a little too much time not moving...

=after he leaves goes back to the newspaper from earlier and decides to do the crossword puzzle section to pass the time=

When he was gone, I relaxed a bit more in my seat. "Well....glad he's gone. Would have been awkward explaining things if he had followed eh?"

I nodded, looking out of the window as the train started to pull away from the station.
"Now leaving New Peragus Station B, Next stop, Lamorak, Station A,

"I'm sorry for earlier," I said, not looking at any one in particular, "I shouldn't have snapped like that,"

Oopsie doopsie stuck on the train

Orion slammed right into the door, the split second it closed, falling back and lying there for a moment, groaning as a few people snickered, and some offered to help him up. He thanked them, before rubbing his head and looking out at the terrain that passed by the door.

"Great. Missed the stop. Again."

Rei smiled, shifting so she sat sideways on Lily's lap. wrapping her arms around her friend, Rei hugged her.
"It's ok. It happens."

I shook Rei off, shaking my head,
"It's not okay," I said, "It shouldn't happen" I turned to Jason, taking my attention away from the window "I had no right to speak to you like that," I said flatly,

Returning her gaze, though perhaps not with the same type of emotion as she, I simply responded in a low voice. "Lily there's no need to apologize; I've had worse than you snapping at me to deal with, but if you want to make amends, answer me this: Why is hunting this demon so important, that we've snuck out of school on false pretenses, lied in the faces of people we meet, and that when the hunt itself was threatened, you snap at someone who's only ever done his best to be a good travel companion? And if the tone I picked up on when you said baka is any indicator, I was also called something rude. So again I ask, why is this all so important?"

I dropped my gaze before I spoke, not being able to keep eye contact with him,
"If we kill a demon before even graduating Sanctum, then we have a headstart on the other students, the best training is to experience the real thing," I paused, and took a deep breath, "If anyone found out, I'm certain that we'd be dragged back to the academy, at best, at worst, we could be expelled. I didn't want that to happen, and if it comes down to it, I'll take the blame for the both of you,"
