"I could also kill you," Answered Sariel.

Miku nodded as she walked away from the pair, spinning on her foot as she did,
"I am," She said, "Are you another first-year?"

"I don't know, they should continue with the lessons, but I don't think they will,"

"You could try."

I began to follow her.

"Why did you become a fallen angel?"

-Rin-

"Yeah, arrived here yesterday," I told her. "Didn't feel like sitting on my ass, so figured I'd take a walk."

-Jason-

"Man everyone seems to enjoy ignoring orders huh?" I said, though hell it wasn't like I could cast stones.

Rei poked Lily's cheek.
"You don't act fine."

"Because I chose to," Sariel answered, "Why are you still following me?"

"No," Said Miku, "I think most of the students are still inside,"

"Practice would've been over anyway," Lily said to Ashiri, before she addressed Rei, "I'm fine, just tired,"

"Because I'm curious." I replied. "It's not like the library on campus has information on these things."

-Jason-

"Well yeah there's them," I said. "I guess I just meant me, Rin and you Miku."

-Rin-

"You're on a first name basis with her?" I asked in a teasing tone.

-Jason-

"Uh......well calling her by her last name is too formal for my tastes."

Miku appeared not to be listening, until she spoke to the pair, her voice making it difficult to tell if she was serious,
"Don't worry, he's a little young for me to steal him from you,"

Lily stood up, pushing Rei's head off of her lap,
"I think I'm going to go to sleep for a while," she said.

Sariel smiled,
"Maybe you should ask? I think one of the history teachers has a book that's relevant," She said, walking with her back to the student.

Rei whined but let Lily do so...then she got up and followed.
"Lily...Um..." She sighed. "Can I bunk with you for the night? The demon...nearbye..."

Rei kinda sounded...scared. "I know it seems childish..."

"Alright, I'll ask him. When will you be back?" I stopped following her.

-Rin-

I felt my face go scarlet, and my mouth worked on its own without thinking about the consequences. "What? No, no way would I care who he tries to hook up with, not like we'd ever get together." And suddenly I realized exactly what I said, and couldn't bring myself to look at Jason.

-Jason-

Okay so while I wasn't toying with the idea of Rin and I getting together (we were starting out as friends, nothing more) it still hurt a little. Not like we'd ever get together. The tone, more than the words, were more telling. She found the idea stupid, almost infuriating. I doubted she hated me or anything, otherwise we wouldn't have gotten along so well......but she didn't like me that way. Oh well, just one girl. One girl who was a friend and who was able to put up with me, but still one girl.

Maybe if I repeated it enough times I could get over the wounded pride.

"Whenever I please," Said Sariel, turning to face the student, "Don't worry, we'll meet again. I'd be interested in your opinion after you've done your research,"

"They'll catch the demon before then," Said Lily, "Besides, I'm only going to sleep for an hour at the most," she paused at the door, holding it open for Kalyn.

Miku had obviously stopped paying attention to the discussion after her input, and was instead looking at a note pinned to the notice board,
"Would you like some privacy?" She asked, still examining the note.

-Jason-

I looked over at Miku, and said "No, we're good. So, should we get going? Beats standing around here."

-Rin-

"Sure. Besides I didn't want to stand still anyway."

Rei still looked scared. "It killed a fully fledged angel Lily..." she moved closer. "Please? I can sleep on the floor..."

"Till next time then. Stay safe out there, Sariel." I said as I began to walk back to the school.

"If it's not dead by tonight," Lily answered.

"Don't go hunting any demons," Sariel replied, walking towards the edge of the academy grounds.

Miku didn't reply, instead she started walking again, pushing open both of the double-doors to the cafeteria and walking through them.

"I won't, it's too early in the game for that." I said smiling, as Sariel walked away.

-Rin-

I stared after Miku before looking to Jason, saying "Think we should go after her?"

-Jason-

Shrugging, I said "Sure, might as well before a teacher finds us."

Miku walked into the cafeteria, and hearing her footsteps echo through the room, she cupped her hands around her mouth,
"Echo!" She yelled, although it wasn't extremely loud, the sound bounced around the large room, making it seem much louder.

Both Rin and Jason stood behind Miku, a little shocked at that. "So, going to guess subtlety isn't in your nature?" Rin asked the older girl.

"What do you mean?" Miku asked, turning around with a puzzled look on her face.

Rin didn't show much expression as she looked at Miku, and said "Well if we're trying to avoid the staff, then shouting out is going to give us away. And if there's a demon around, then we just signaled where we are."

"Most demons aren't capable of higher though processes, but all demons are incredible hunters. If it was nearby, we'd already have been attacked," Miku answered without missing a beat, "The worst that could happen is we get punished by the staff," She added, obviously not caring.

"And the punishment for something like this?" Jason asked. "I mean violating the orders and being out when a demon's around?"

"Probably detention," Miku said, turning around and walking over to the food counter, "There's no food," she said, sounding disappointed.

"Well....yeah, doubt they're going to leave food around here if everyone's either on patrol or in their rooms," Jason said.

Nick returned to the Campus, only to hear a very feminine yell, though it was not one that spoke of danger, it was attention grabbing nonetheless. He walked towards the cafeteria, from where he heard the shout.

Rei hurried after her.
"Can I stay there then? If...if the teachers don't announce anything, I'll stay...if they do announce it's dead, I'll leave...is that...ok?"

After the meeting took place and both parties had departed I decided I had rested enough by the lake and continued my trek around the campus. Not so much for the demon, I was more intrigued at what I hadn't found. My curiosity took the best of me and instead of heading back I rashly moved forward. The demon being on campus never left my mind...obviously.

"No," Lily said, "I just need to get some sleep, Rei," and walked out of the room, headed for her own.

Miku slid over the end of the food counter, walking behind it,
"Where do you think the food is?" She asked, "I'm hungry,"

Jason blinked, shocked at what Miku did. Granted it wasn't that big a deal really, but it was still surprising all the same. "Uh, I think in the kitchens maybe, but frozen. Doubt we'd be able to eat any of it."

Uhhhhhhhhhhh

At the cafeteria, or rather, outside of it, Nick looked at the open doors. Someone had clearly been through here, and left the doors open. He cautiously walked through the doors, and heard voices echoing from afar.

"Well, I guess someone isn't afraid of punishment."

I said deadpan.

Miku was still looking for food when she heard Nick speak,
"That goes for everyone here," She said flatly.

"Touche." I said, looking at this new girl.

Jason twitched so hard he came an inch off the floor, sputtering "Hell's bells! Where did he come from?" Rin looked from Jason to the new guy who walked in. "Through the door it seems," she said dryly.

"Why aren't you in your room, Nick?" Miku asked, recognising him from some of the classes she went to, "Can anybody cook?" She added, apparently having found the uncooked food.

"Depends," Rin said calmly. "How do you like your food? Undercooked or ash?"

"I can cook." I walked over to Miku. "I'd rather not wait for a demon to appear on my doorstep."

"Why wait for death while death waits for you?" Miku said, as if she were reciting a poem, "We should cook something," She said, walking further into the kitchen.

"Uh.....I'm good thanks," Jason said as he started to walk away. Suddenly leaving and going back to his room seemed like a very tempting idea, and he looked at Rin. "I'm going to leave them to it; doesn't look like the demon will be coming in here at all, so we should be good."

Following Miku into the Kitchen, "What do you have a taste for?"

Orion sat somewhere.

Miku shrugged, looking through some more boxes,
"I guess I lost my appetite," She said, standing up, "So why were you outside?" She asked, suddenly sounding serious.

"I was doing Nick things." I said plainly.

Jason and Rin left Nick and Miku to do whatever it was they were probably going to do. He was about ready to head back to his room and stay there, and she felt like doing a circle around campus. By the time they had reached the fork in the hallway, they had both parted and gone their separate ways. Okay, Jason thought to himself. No demons, no crazy fallen angels, hell no more random students......just let me get back to my room in peace.

"Shouldn't Nick have to listen to the teachers?" Miku asked, jumping up and sitting on one of the counters, "There's a demon,"

Surprisingly, Jason got back to his room in one piece. He half expected Sariel to pop out of nowhere and stall him again, or the demon to burst through a wall. In fact both mental images of the scenario had both Sariel and the Demon saying the same thing. "Nope." Either way, he entered his room locked the door, and let out a sigh of relief.

"Well, uh, I don't know, should Nick, Miku?" I said, the beginnings of humor creeping into my voice.

"Nick probably should have," Miku said, wandering over to a different part of the kitchen, "If Nick cares about his studies, I think he might have more reason to do as he's told,"
