Chapter 5 Revelations of the Past Part 2

I yell over my shoulder as i walk off

=I begin to walk away=

I look forward to seeing you there.

I smirk and continue onwards, heading on down to the cafeteria

=I chuckle under my helmet and whisper to myself=

I am beginning to like you again already..

=I sit on the bench across from Ash and Draco's room=

=I drop my head into my hands again=

Bad move..

=i finish training, putting the knife back on the rack and moving to leave the room. the Marines closest to the door make a show of charging their weapons. i stop and look at them, determination on my face= I am going to leave this room. You cannot stop me. I promise to do no harm to this ship or it's crew, as long as they do not attack me. But I will leave this room. And either you two die as I die, or you let me pass and follow me and make sure i don't do anything wrong.

=they look at each other and step aside, the other Marines following behind me as I leave the training room and wander the halls, looking for someone I know. the Marines keep their rifles trained on me as we go along. The step out of the way of pipes and door and other obstacles all while keeping death pointed firmly in my direction. i head to the messhall and grab a plain bagel, not being allowed a knife=

=I wake up naked on the med-bay slab in my office aboard the SuperCarrier class Umbrae Umbrorum. the AI Sophia is looking over me, Neural links are attached to my head and body, monitoring my wellness. I try and sit up. A pain Rips across my body. I look down and see scar tissue over where i was shot. I remove the attachments and stand up.
"sophia. where am I?"

sophia- "you are aboard the Umbrae Umbrorum, the SuperCarrier. We are currently monitoring an ONI vessel that just showed up via slip-space while you were ashore. the crew have already returned to their quarters and positions. the data has already been sent to Earth. and to ONI. Ashlie Rebecca Cole and Dante Faulkner, or Draco, have been captured by ONI. from reports by our agents planetside the capture was by a man named Snow. And we've detected Dormii Fortunii on the ONI vessel."

"ok...where are my clothes. and where is the smaller UU, the Assault carrier?"

sophia-"orbiting the planet - The shadow of the moon."

"and David?"

sophia-"in his room, i believe."

"thank you."

Sophia-"your welcome Nikolaus."

"for everything."

=Sophia laughs, and then disappears. I sigh and look for clothes to put on. I find the card containing Sophia and put her into my wristband ( a tech.) and go to my hangers in the office and put on some fresh clothes. which is pretty much the same thing i've been wearing. other than business suits and fancy things i don't have much clothes for selection. I look around. I feel like this is good bye.=

David lays asleep on his bed, tossing and turning. He's still in pain and shock from the job that went totally downhill. He had dreams imagining what force was throwing those men back at the building. He pictured what it was, just a translucent...thing. He couldn't really describe it, but it was humanoid in nature. And just as it rushed him, he awoke, sitting straight up and almost screaming.

He looked around, not sure of where he was. He didn't recgonize it.

"Sophia. can you hear me?"

S. "yesss Nikolaus?


"send an Intelligence down to tell David where he is, he'll probably be freaking out about now. send Xerces."

S. "why certainly. by the way, were switching ships. This vessel is going back to be updated.we moving to a Human vessel. the Assault carrier will still be here though."

"thank you sophia. again."

David goes into his bathroom, noticing how much of a height difference the new injections added. He looked into the mirror, turning the faucet on and washing his face off. He then dried his face off and turned to go back to bed, laying down to think it all over.

=i chew on my plain bagel= Hey. How's life in ONI? =i don't look at her, but the corner of my mouth turns up in a smile=

Same as life was with you lot.

I chew slowly

=Xerces buzzes Davids room=

You make it seem like you hated it.

David looks over to the door almost immediately, and answers it, noticing that it is the same Sangheili from before, 'Hello...I'm sorry, I can't seem to remember your name."

What's to say i didn't. Stuck on a planet with a bunch of traitors.

I wink at him

=i laugh softly and smile= Traitors who wanted peace, to be left alone, to live their lives according to their own rules. Nothing wrong with that is there? =my half-grin get's larger, and i hear another bolt or two on a rifle be charged=

A lot. Considering your all Spartans and we still have a war on our hands

=i nod= That is true, we are Spartans, but are we good Spartans? =i hear another bolt get snapped and a barrel is placed against my neck. i ignore it= Take me, for example. I killed an entire ship's crew. Granted it was because of self-defense training, but I was still a Spartan when it happened. Let's not forget the other things that happened in my life that I don't know about. Should I really be fighting?

You can be rehabilitated. Retrained. Taught to fight for us. And when the war is over, you can go back to hiding away

=i chew another bite, ignoring the cold steel against my neck= But will it? Will it really end? War never stops, Jay. For anthing. It goes whether wanted or not. And I'm not hiding, I'm protecting.

(Marine)Shut up, traitor. Shut up!

I wave the marines back

Go rest before you strain yourself marines.

I turn back and continue eating

=i keep eating like nothing happened= Your word that war will end? That peace will come to the universe? That all conflicts, big and small will end?

"My name is Xerces, one of the Intelligence. I escorted you and Ms. Cole to your rooms. she was lost, as i recall."

David nods, "Hello, Xerces...I'm on Nikolaus' ship, then. Is something wrong?" He looked around for signs of trouble just in case, finding none. David also found that Xerces was much taller last time they encountered one-another.

You have my word that you'll be released after the Covenant war. Yes.

=i finish the bagel and turn my head to look at Jay= And then where would we go? Earth? Chi Cheti IV? Luna? No places where we can survive want us there. So, tell me, Miss Jay, where would we go?

=i wink at her after i say her name=

"why yes. you would be correct, this is Nikolaus' Ship. yet you are wrong. there is no trouble here. my, my, my, you seem to have grown since the last time we met. have any super-soldier serum as of late?"

=The Elite chuckles=

After the war, you will be hailed as a hero. Nobody will abject to where you chose to go.

I finish eating

Now if you'll excuse me. I think i'll find that i have something to do if i look around hard enough

David frowned, "That's just it...I really have no idea. I wish I knew...Is there a way you can run a diagnostics test or something of the like?"

=i stand and offer her my hand to get up= I'm sure I can help with whatever it is.

If given the chance to help, offer it. If denied, stand ready to help anyway.

I stand up, ignoring the hand offered.

Don't you have a cell to be in, Prisoner?

=i retract my hand= I do. But if I really forced the issue, you would never get me into the cell. Broken bodies will litter the hallways, and blood will drip from the ceiling, and flesh will burn before I become an unwilling prisoner.

=i shake to clear myself from relapsing= So, i ask you, do you want any help?

"I can certainly do that David. follow me, i'll take you to the laboratory."

=The elite begins walking=

I could get you into a cell, whether you wanted to or not.

I wink at him again

You do realise i don't actually know what i have to do yet right?

And do you realize that it doesn't matter? If I can give help, I am to do so.

=i smile at her and look into her eyes=

I sigh

And here i was hoping you'd suggest something a little more rebellious

=i grin larger and tilt my head=

I don't know.

I glance at him

I really should be getting back to work.

Work for a Spartan is waging war. You think you will wage war inside this ship?

=i chuckle= I still offer help, no matter what it may be.

Your terrible at taking hints, so you've just missed your chance.

I grin at him and walk off

=i walk after her and walk next to her= Care for a second try? You know I don't do subtle well.

Sorry dear. You missed your chance.

I pat his cheek and bounce away from him

One last try

=i walk up in front of her a smile on my face= What if I promised to make it up to you? Twofold? What then?

And how would you do that?

Longer. More =i stick my tongue out=. More fingers. Deeper. Faster. How does that sound?

It sounds like you didn't hear me when i said you'd missed your chance

=i turn to walk off=

They're only going to execute you if you don't pass rehabilitation.

I walk up behind him, slipping my arms over his shoulders and placing my mouth next to his ear

And i think we can manage to fake that one.

=i turn inside her arms and put mine around her waist, a smile on my fae= And how do you think that would work?
