Chapter 8 NAME "Shit Happens" Part 4

I have no clue. The covenant ambushed us as we left the planet and was about to depart, until they "ambushed" us. The captain jumped. And we ended up here. The chances of us just showing up here? Pretty hard.

(Jason)
Hmmm, well one step at a time. We can deal with this little mystery later. For now, we have a planet to defend.
=I held out my hand=

(Jeremy)
=I reach out and shake his hand=

(Jason)
Okay, you're going to accompany me to Alpha Base. It's our primary military base on the surface, so we're going to have to use the teleporters, and a quick warning: first timers on the teleporter will usually throw up.

(Jeremy)

Umm, ok.

I sat there for a long time. Didn't have the energy to do anything. On top of a headache. I closed my eyes, and just drifted off.

(Dormii)
=i fell asleep next to the firing range. The SMG had been interesting, but I still prefered the good old bullet powered weapons=

(Jason)
=the two of us exited the hospital. I'll admit, we could have just teleported from inside the hospital, but that seemed, I don't know, rude. When we got outside though, I signaled Silver to teleport us to Alpha, and golden light enveloped us both. A few seconds later, and Jeremy and I stood outside the Alpha Base. I heard some gagging sounds, turned, and saw Jeremy on his knees, puking=
You okay man?

(Jeremy)
=I manage to stop puking=

You could have told me it would have been that bad. Its fine though, ill get better.

(Jason)
Sorry about that. But don't worry, the first time is the worst. After that, you'll get used to it.
=I led him into Alpha Base=

Alpha is just one of three bases on Haven, and they are all positioned close to the main entrances. We have several smaller outposts scattered along the surface.

(Jeremy)

This is amazing! I'm sure there is more to see though.

Trust me, there is so much here on Haven, it would take years to see it all.
=I led him to the armory. I nodded at the officer guarding the place=

Listen, since you're going to be here, you might as well get a weapon. Now, we only have Forerunner weapons here, and according to what I've been told, these aren't even the highest tiers of weapons. But, take your pick.
=I grabbed an 'assault rifle' variant, and headed for the shooting range=

Shooting range is just through those doors. Pick your weapons, and meet me there.

(Jeremy)
=I wasn't sure what to grab, so I just picked a random weapon and walk into the firing range=

So uh, what exactly is this?

(Jason)
=I looked at the weapon. My helmet scanned the weapon, and gave me a classification=
Dude, you're holding a sniper. You ever see those beam rifles the Covenant use? Think that, only more shots, less overheat, and less recoil.

(Fatet)

= I lie there sweating and panting.=

Fuck... Why do I keep having those nightmares?

=I look at the doctors=

"Hey, Could I uh.. Have some water?"

Talfie:

=heads out to find the others=

Ah ok. So, how do I aim this thing?

=I start looking at the sniper looking for a scope=

(Jason)
Well, see that part right there? The part that's all pointed? That's the part you aim at targets. Now, place your gun hand right there, and do you see that symbol? Gently tap it, and the weapon will activate. Now, just a word of caution: when these guns activate, a kind of energy field appears around the guns. From what I can tell, it's a form of hard light.

(Jeremy)

Interesting.
=I push the button and aim down the range=

I was trained in CQC, I'm not sure if I could shoot well with this.

(Jason)
Well, these things are pretty user friendly. But, if you want to use weapons more fitted for close to medium range, then feel free to browse through the armory. Just don't go all the way to the back, that's the heavy weapons.
=I aimed my rifle, and fired off a burst. Blue plasma fired from it. These weren't the same blobs of plasma that came from Covie weapons; these were thin, lances of energy, and they burned through the targets=

These weapons, they are nothing like human weapons.

Is there any way of combining the weapons? In my database there is weapons very similar just, with more guns on them.

(Jason)
Not really. I mean, you can organize squads to combine firepower on targets, but that won't really increase the weapon's damage.

(Jeremy)

I would rather try a closer ranged weapon.

=I go and grab a different weapon from the weapon rack=

And what is this?

(Jason)
That, is basically a carbine. Burst shot only, but it's accurate as hell. Go ahead, fire off a few shots.

=So, while Jason was prepping the planet, and Miranda was doing her own thing down in the Serenity's armory, I decided to do something by myself, though in hindsight, I had a very bad feeling that it was going to be the biggest mistake of my life. Hell, if Jason found out, he'd do what my dad did: lock me up. That said, Haven was my home, and I felt that I had a right to defend it (and yes, I know that I live on the Serenity, but since the Serenity stayed on Haven...you get the idea.) Which is why I asked Silver to alter some of the records in Haven's new Air Force branch, and let me join up as a new pilot, fresh out of the academy. I know, I know; terrible plan, that probably wouldn't get off the ground (no pun intended) but I had to try something=

(Jeremy)
=I fire a few rounds of the carbine=

Holy shit, your right.

I wonder if I still have my pistol...

=I put down the carbine and reach for my pistol case, and recognize the feel of the pistol=

This thing is ancient, but was a heck of a killer. Hell, it could even kill a spartan in one shot. From my simulations of course.

=I pull out my pistol, noticing the damage done to it was minor. However it was looking like a dog chewed on it for a few seconds=

I hope this thing even works.

=I notice the brute blood on it and I stare at it=

=after walking around he finds himself at the command center=

=One of the doctors comes over to me with a small glass of water=

*Doctor*: "Here you go."

*Me:* "Can you unshackle one of my hands at least? That way I can drink it myself."

=After which I accidentally bump the doctor with my hand=

*Me*: " Sorry about that doctor.

=I carry on and take the water , and drink it thirstily.=

*Doctor:* "Anything else?"

*Me:* No thanks, I got everything I need.

=I glance at the door and conclude no one is there. I look at the lone doctor, and free my other wrist. Sneaking behind him I hit him on the back of the head, hard and he falls down unconscious.=

"Sorry about that..."

=I stagger towards the door,steadying myself on the wall before opening it and stepping through cautiously.=

=Two security guards were outside in the hall, on their way to the medical wing, when they saw the prisoner walking out of the medical wing=

*Guards*
Hey, stop!

=the guy ran=
Fuck.

=one guard chased after him, while the other raised the alarm=

=I heard the alarm, and commed the bases security=
What the hell is going on?

=they told me the prisoner had escaped, and he was fleeing=
Aww hell. Look, he's still in the building. Lock every door, except the doors that lead towards the shooting range. Hell, put people in his way if you have to, but send him towards me.

=In the building, doors began to close, and lock themselves. Guards began to move into the hallways, herding the prisoner towards the doors leading to the shooting range=

=I moved to the doors that served as the main buildings entrance, and waited. I motioned for Jeremy to get into position, on the other side of the doors=

=Well, it looked like Silver knew what he was doing. The guards let me onto the base with no hassle, and I went to the requisitions building to get my flight suit. Once that was done, all I needed to do was get a jet, and into a squad. Now, according to Silver, I was now apart of the Arrowhead Squadron. These guys were still fresh out of the Academy, and they didn't know each-other all that well. Hell, some of them were almost the same age as me. I wasn't squad leader though, which was fine by me. That said, my false credentials placed me as the second in command of the squadron. Great=

(Jeremy)

Damn. What's going on? I heard you say something about a prisoner?

(Jason)
Yeah, we had a guy land here a few days ago, right after you. He killed one of my men, and he's UNSC.
=we waited for a few minutes, until the prisoner came running out of the middle door=

Quick, grab him!

(Jeremy)

=I jump out and manage to grab one of his legs=

I can't hold on forever!

=The man continues to move=

Hold still dammit!

(Fatet)

= I struggle harder=

" How about... Fuck you?"

= I swing my fist down for the nut shot=

(Jeremy)

=I grab his fist before he hits=

I don't think you know who you're dealing with!

=I swing my fist and try to hit him on his side=

=I ran over to the two of them, and grabbed the prisoner. I picked him up, and threw him back, and he hit the ground=
Are you okay Jeremy?

(Jeremy)

Yeah, I'm fine.

=I stand up=

(Fatet)

= I sieze my chAance and roll under a closing door, giving my final fuck you with my finger=

(Jason)
Eh, he won't get far.
=I commed Silver=

Hey Silver, lock on the life signature that's moving away from us, and teleport him back here, in front of me.

(Silver Light)
Very well, Inheritor.
=I locked onto the life sign, and sent the fleeing target right towards the Inheritor and his friend=

(Jeremy)

=I turned to the prisoner=

So, now that we finally have some free time, I have questions for you.

(Fatet)

= I stagget after the teleport, but aftervmy time as an ODST, thats about it=

"Well I got a few insults, so were both good."

=I look at the ODST observing any symbols on his armor=

=heads back to the troph after a couple minutes=

Glad to know that we can amuse you. Now, like I said, I have a some questions for you. Lets start with something simple: why are you here? Your an ODST, so that means UNSC. Which is a problem, because I made sure that ONI, and therefore the UNSC, would never come back to this planet. So, why are you here?
