Ah shit that hurt. Why is ground so hard..and was that a tree. The inside of my helmet was dark...seems my systems had to reboot.. I sit there waiting until a faint light appears on screen.

There we go.

Soon my screen lights up.

Damn it's bright.

The images are a little fuzzy but I can make out the details. I forcefully stand up despite my broken leg.

Effing biofoam..damn that smarts. Well at least I can limp to the crash site. I try to find a high place to search for the pelican but it seems that wouldn't be needed. Right by my crash site there is a big crater in the ground showing me the way to the pelican. It was in shambles, and on fire. God damn rocket...I try to comm Shroud but it seems that my communtication unit was damaged. I started trotting to the crash, limp by limp.

=I look around as I exit the wreckage=
=I place the V.I.P. down near a rock=

We've been hit behind enemy lines

=I hobble around to the front. Almost falling=

=I see my shotgun, up near the front past Shield. I stumble over there, checking on him on the way. He's unconscious, but otherwise okay. I pick up my shotgun and see Sparrow out the front of the Pelican. I climb out the window and make my way over to her=
Sparrow, ma'am. You awake?

I never made to the Pelican. But I did see it crash. I stood there for a moment.

=walks to the others and leans against a tree=


god dam them how bad is everyone hurt

Well, at least you're awake. Let's get you out of your armor.

=I turn my head to see where my right arm would be, and I panic. I try to yell for help, but my voice was quiet=

=Shield looks up at the ceiling of the Pelican as he slowly regains consciousness. He goes to cough, but ends up with a great pain in his throat. He curses, but no sound comes of it. He sits up and realizes that the way he landed made the front of his helmet hit the bottom of his throat, which was now feeling like a garden hose with someone standing on it. He stands, and goes to pick up his rifle. He sends a text comm to Shroud=

Do we have a medic with us?

=He coughs heavily again, his throat in severe pain=

=I recieve the message and stand=
=I hobble back around to where the V.I.P. is=

=Comm to Shield=

I'm no medic.
I don't know.

As the armour comes off, my feeling returns to my body.

Go help the unconscious. I've got the rest of this.

I begin running toward the crashed pelican. Hoping Sparrow isn't dead.

What a drag

I neared the clearing, and stopped. Something was off. The pelican had been hit by a rocket, but there was no gunfire to pick off survivors. In fact, the forest was silent, despite the fact that the rain had picked up to the pace of a german waltz on methamphetamine or some other illegal stimulant.

And then the fog began rolling in.

I picked up my pace, jumping over things that had the potential to trip me.

I was close to the pelican now, I could see it.

I get to the pelican, and look for Sparrow.

"Sparrow!" I shout, a hint of fear in my voice.

=to Aegir=
Out front, sir.

Aegir!!!

I shout back to him as I retrieve my weapons. I toss the grenade launcher away because the barrel is bent and holster my pistol.

Not me. Save it for someone else. Armour took all my impact but it's wrecked.. Somethings not right here Aegir. There's no way a rocket should have tore up that pelican like it did.

Everybody! Stick together, partner up, link arms and don't trust equipment or sound. This fog will throw them both off.

I walk to the end of the pelican.
