Okay, we'll send some small quantities up for you to try. But other than that, there's not much else I think we can do, though this is just the grunt talking. But I think it's safe to say we'll do what we can to repair your ship and send you on your way, and I apologize if that sounds rude=

I look at my guard.

"What's been proven so far?"

--Refugee camp, Medical Center--

Well, let's see. We've got a bloody knife a civilian found in their belongings, and the fingerprints on the handle are a match for yours. Guess it's a good thing we record the prints of every refugee that landed here, huh? We also confirmed that the blood on the knife is a match for Fatet, he being the one you stabbed. Finally, we have you attempting to escape from your hospital room. What, were you going back to finish the job or something?

"Yes. He's a liability to my mission."

I keep my face straight, there is no point lying about this, they know for certain what happened.

*Guard*
Your mission? Now what might that be? Wait, let me try and figure this one out. You're an ONI operative, sent here to screw with us again? Or, are you just some crazy piece of shit who thinks he's on a mission?

"Those are common occurrences here, then?"

Idle chatter, keep him away from sensitive questions.

*Guard*
Don't dodge the question here. Eventually, we will find out who you are. And when we do.....well, truth be told I'm not sure what will happen. We might lock you up, send you back home. Whether you'll be in any condition to screw with us again before we do send you back, is up for debate.

"Well, which of the two do you think I am? ONI Operative, working for the people who have civilians here, or just a nut case?"

*Guard*
Honestly? ONI. They've tried to screw with us before, so why break that habit now? But regardless of who sent you, and for what reasons, your primary concern should be what we're going to do to you.

"But what ARE you going to do to me?"

*Guard*
Well, imprison you for starters. Question you, interrogate you. Anything beyond that is above my pay-grade really. For all I know we just send you back home looking like an incompetent fool, and whatever reputation you have over there gets tarnished.

"But why protect an ODST? Surely if ONI want to kill their own, you shouldn't care much for it?"

*Guard*
Well, now there's the rub. See, Fatet was and still is an ODST, one who is not a prisoner here but a guest. He's been helping us train some of our boys, and he's well respected for it. So, in many ways he's also one of our own, and we protect our own.

"How can you be sure he isn't on some mission to ruin this planet?"

*Guard*
After being locked up in isolation for the first few months, then being helped by our own doctors, then entering into an agreement with our leaders to train our troops, I can safely say he's got no ulterior motives. Besides, even if he did, he's constantly monitored, as are all signals on Haven.

"What if I have a partner? One who could be outside finishing what we started?"

*Guard*
Then allow me to be the first to say, "Bring it on." Because as arrogant as this sounds, you and the rest of ONI are honestly the least of our worries.

"How so?"

*Guard*
Well, without giving you too many details, we're in the middle of a war with people far superior to anything the UNSC, and by extension ONI, can throw at us. And that's all you need to know.

"Well then, why haven't you told ONI? I'm sure they'd like to know how much danger their people are in."

*Guard*
Oh, they already know. Our leaders already informed them a month ago, which is why it will be quite a surprise when they find out about you. Now, unless there's any gold at the end of this rainbow, there's really nothing else to talk about. We'll keep you locked up then transferred to a more secure holding cell.
=He got up from the stool, and headed for the door=

Enjoy the hospital bed. Likely that will be the last comfortable bed you get for a long time.

"You know, You could always ask for help if what you're saying is true."

=The guard just ignored him, exiting the room and heading off for the small security building outside=

I sighed, leaning my head back into the bed.

Might as well get comfy.

"I think that's enough questions for now, hm?"
William made a motion with his hand, for the more recent Spartan to continue leading the way. "I'd like to meet the captain about this job, sooner rather then later, please."

I continue to lead them through the halls without further discussion, eventually making it to the Bridge.
We enter with me up front as before. "Commander? They're here."

=turns around and looks at the free lancers throught his visor=

"Skip the formalities? Gladly."
William relaxes his hand away from his weapons.

James checked his needler again and sighed. "Sounds simple enough...but I'm guessing there is some kind of catch?"

William thinks it over.
"Does this rebel base have weapons, or anything of great value?"

William considers this offer further.
"I've been having a few problems with my slip drive. Throw in the parts I need and you got yourself a deal."
Gitz holds out his hand, awaiting a handshake.

James sighed. "...I need a ship of my own...even a junker...through in one and a capable AI and you can count me in...just make sure the cryo chambers are working ok?" He coughed a bit...a side affect of his long cryo sleep

James nodded and for the first time took off his helmet as he extended his hand...he was only 16... "Glad we have an agreement then..."

James nodded. "As long as its not cryo sleep ok?" He chuckled a it and put his helmet back on
