ZRP-2 Chapter 6: Scattered

=I didn't say anything for a few seconds, silently mulling ver my response, ow to say it, if it was really the truth for me. And honestly.....it was=
"At first, revenge fueled me. Then there was you, always picking me up, keeping me standing tall, and pushing me to attack. But then I found out who was in the Shepherds, the score that was left to settle. I still love you, Eve, and our yet to be born child, and I'll still gladly fight for you. But if anything, I'll fight, just to get close to him and kill him."

I turned to see why Andrew had fallen back, to see him grab his sister (I've learned that over time) and pick her back up.
I looked to make sure Jennifer is still beside me before continuing on.

Hibiki sighed, not sure what to say for once.

Jenn was right behind Tyler.

=The silence was enough to make me chuckle=
"But....score aside, when it's all done, I'll still come back to you. And build something for us."

=I gave that last bit some thought=
"Or, just clean out a house in a secured town for us to live in."

"pff. Fine. Better be a nice house." Hibiki said. "I want a pool, two stories, and a basement. And a hidden dungeon."

=That made me grin=
"A hidden dungeon? Into some kink are we?"

"I was going to lock up Sam if she ever broke Eve's heart again actually." She said, deadpan.

(James)
"Heh, you don't think they should get their own house? Or an apartment at least?"

"They should. But we'll know where they are."
She then laughed. "I'm kidding about the dungeon."

(James)
"I know. Listen, we should probably go back into town, do another check. It's a long way till sundown."

Hibiki nodded. "Alright. Then get off my lap."

(James)
=Groaning just a bit at leaving her lap, I got up and put my shoes back on=
"Maybe they'll be something good this time."

Hibiki laced her boots.
"When there wasn't the first time?"

"Very good point."
=Opening the door, I walked out=

Hibiki grabbed her sword and handgun and jogged after James.
"I know. Hence why I made that point."

(James)
=Walking off the boat, we headed back into town. A few people were busy setting up a perimeter around the caravan, mostly patrols. Walking through the streets, I kept an eye out for anywhere good and decided for a house, away from the caravan. Most of the windows had been boarded up, and even the front door looked secured=
"Huh, gotta be something good inside Fort Knox here."

"You don't know that."
Hibiki drew her sword. "Kick the door down."

=Nodding, I kicked at the door.....and found my leg reduced to throbbing jelly=
"OOOOOOOWWWWWW!!!!!! HOLY MOTHER FUCKER!!!!!"

=I hopped on one leg outside the door, hands clutching my leg=
"Jesus they really secured that bitch!"

Hibiki sighed softly. "Ok then...what's the plan?"

=Once the pain in my leg had subsided, at least by a bit, I looked from Hibiki to the door=
"On three, we both ram the door. Sond good?"

"How about we just borrow chains and a truck?" Hibiki suggested.

(James)
"We're already here. Either we break the door down or we try the window."

"Window then." Hibiki said.

(James)
"Alright. Let's try the front one."
=Walking to the front window, I tested the boards covering it. They had been nailed from the inside, so the trick, I think, wasn't to pull them. It was to push them inward=

"On the count of three, we push."

Hibiki nodded.
"One...two...three!"

=We both rammed our shoulders into the boards covering the window, the glass already broken. It took three tries, but we finally managed to get the boards off, and we had a way in=
"Uh, ladies first, or do you want me to go in ahead of you?"

"I have the sword."

Climbing in, Hibiki brandished her weapon. "If there was already an open entrance somewhere, you owe me."

"I'm certain there wasn't an open entrance."
=I climbed in behind her, bring my P90 to bear. Sweeping it around, I found that there was nothing but furniture, some garbage....and a smell. Something bad, like rotting bad=

"Lets look around."

Noting the smell, Hibiki headed into the kitchen. "I'll check the kitchen then, and any jokes and I'll cut your dick off.."

"Wasn't planning on it."
=Leaving her to her own search, I made for the rooms. The doors were all closed but unlocked, but the first one I opened.....well, I found the source of the smell. When I opened it, my nostrils were assaulted by the stench of rotting flesh and I began coughing loudly. In the room was a body, hanging from the ceiling by a rope, an obvious suicide. Whoever it was had a piece of paper taped to their chest, with some writing written on it with a black marker. The words were big and legible, and I managed to make them out as I covered my mouth and nose with one hand=

Don't leave me hangin bro!

Seriously? Wow......

Finding nothing, Hibiki followed the stench, covering her mouth with a bandanna she had.
"Wow. Just. Just wow."

"Gotta admit.....even in death, he makes people smile."
=Granted the stench did not make me smile at all. Walking into the room as I pulled my shirt up a little over my mouth (knew I should have packed a turtle neck) I chopped the poor bastard down. Looking around, I noticed that this room was where the guy lived, so the bulk of his supplies were inside. It struck me as odd though. If he had all the stuff, why kill himself? Eh, it didn't matter right now, we had newfound supplies. Browsing through it, I found some of the missing medicine from the pharmacy=

"Looks like we found the medicine from the pharmacy,"

Hibiki frowned, checking the body.
"He's bit on the leg." Hibiki said softly. "He decided he wasn't going to be one of those things."

She starts gathering the guy's things. "I got a knife and some pistol. Sig Sauer I think. Guess some cop died. Four rounds. Musta had a gunfight with those walkers."

(James)
"Wait, if he was bitten, then why isn't he turned? I've come across people that tried hanging themselves, or cutting their wrists for suicide attempts after being bitten. They still came back."

"He probably dropped hard enough his neck broke." Hibiki said.

(James)
"Probably."
=I went back to packing up items=

"Either way, doesn't matter, he's dead, and we have a treasure trove to bring in."

"Yeah..."
Hibiki sighed softly, packing things away.

(James)
=Packing things in the room was....unpleasant. Mostly because we had to deal with the smell. When we were done, we headed back for the window=
"Heh, look at the amount of security on that door."

=I pointed at the door, its security now evident on this end. There were locks, security chains, three different boards nailed to the doorframe, and more covering the door=

"Well. That does keep them out." She admitted, then she hopped out the window.

"It also hurt like hell!"
=Following her, hopped out. Back outside, I took a look around to make sure the coast was clear. It was, and we started walking again=

Hibiki chuckled. "I know."

(James)
=I stuck close to her, not out of a need for safety.....mostly because I enjoyed being close. It was hard to describe, but standing that close to well, anyone, you feel a sort of tingling on the side facing them. I enjoyed that feeling, especially since it was because I was so close to her=
"So.....I wonder what New Orleans is like right now. It was always creepy because of the supernatural stuff, but with walkers?"

"We're not going there. I swear to God, we're not going to New Orleans." Hibiki said firmly.

"What, you don't like ghosts?"
=Granted, nether did I. Hell, the thought of ghosts and zombies in the same town was enough to make me give the area a wide berth=

"Pff. I don't like the bayou." She retorted.

(James)
"Ah. Actually, I wonder.....do you think that area is flooded for good? I mean, last time the place got trashed by Katrina. Who news what else has been there the past two years."

"That's true. Good riddance to that place." She said. "Never liked it." Hibiki frowned. "Some bitch there tried to steal my girlfriend. We tossed her into a fountain and left."

=God help me, I sputtered and tripped a little as I walked, nearly falling before I righted myself. Even then, I stayed rooted to the spot for a few seconds, dumb struck=
"You.....had a girlfriend?"

"What? I never said I was Christian since birth." She rolled her eyes. "I tried, I liked, I converted after she cheated on me with this bitch from the college. Haven't had a relationship since."

"No, I wasn't opposed to the girlfriend bit.....just surprised you had one is all."
