ZRP-2 Chapter 6: Scattered

(James)
=I couldn't help but chuckle=
"Wait just like that? Really?"

(Sam)
"Oh no no no, a boy is the wrong source of material for that kind of research.....or, maybe they are. But I didn't see that many out there to begin with."

"I saw a cute teen...Anne...I think. Right?" Eve teased again.

Hibimi answer with...breathing.

(Sam)
"Well fine, if you want to be the one to break my heart."

(James)
"Guess so."
=Still, it was nice, laying with her. Helped me forget what was out there=

Eve giggled softly. "Never. I'll never hurt you."

(Andrew)

=Again, I wanted to smack Cooper a good one, but resisted the urge. I got my sister and Mira into a car, took the steering wheel from the driver and followed Cooper's lead=

Smacking him would just be just satisfying...nothing more

=I put the car into gear and drove behind Cooper=

(Sam)
"Well, even if you did.....I don't have a katana wielding mother to chop you not pieces."

Eve giggled.
"I love you."

Jennifer I made it back to the cars in one piece. Believe it or not, I actually got to drive the vehicle this time.
It was an old gas sipper, Honda or something. It only had four seats. Apparently nobody noticed this one had space.
So it was just me and her.

=As the night wore on, there was silence around the campsite. Those that were still awake were either patrolling the area, or too tense to actually sleep. James was one of them=

(James)
=I tried to sleep, honestly. But I was still thinking about Harry. And Michael. It was irrational I know, but they somehow seemed connected. My mind searched for a way to blame Harry's death on Michael, to absolve myself of what I did. It was stupid, because I knew that what I did was a small piece of mercy for Harry, and that I shouldn't be beating myself up over it. But I was=

(Sam)
"Geez, it's always 'I love you.' Don't you have any new material?"
=I rolled over onto my stomach=

"Don't get me wrong, it's nice, but its too simple. Try something....poetic, or romantic. Even if its cheesy, it still works."

Whatever Eve said was muffled by the fact Sam was now laying on her head.
Luckily it was her stomach.

Why couldn't it have been her breasts?




Hibiki slept like a log.

(Sam)
"Eh? What was that! Speak up Eve, I can't hear you?"

Eve wiggled out, then snuggled her face close to Sam's.
"My love for you burns with the power of ten thousand suns."

(Sam)
=I snorted=
"Okay yeah that was cheesy."

=Cooper and his small group continued driving, their headlights cutting through the darkness before the, as they continued down the road. They had no idea how much fuel they had, or what else was beyond them, but they kept on driving. Better to face whatever was in the shadows head on instead of waiting for it to come to you=

(Andrew)

=As we drove out, I decided not to talk to Cooper. I was exasperated with him right now, and it was the first time in a while that the three of us were alone=

So Sarah...You feeling better?

(Sarah)

=I fix Andrew with small glare=

It still hurts like a bitch.

=I cuddle up to Miranda=

But I think Nurse Mira should help me out...

=I smile coyly=

With your consent, of course.

Eve giggled.
"Least I tried."

Mira blushed, hugging Sarah close.
"I wouldn't mind."

(Sam)
"That you did."
=I glanced at the window, noting the faint glow of the campfire. But it was dark outside. So very dark=

"Wonder when we'll head out. Dawn, or in another hour?"

"Don't know..."
Eve closed her eyes, her body snuggled warmly against Sam.
"Wake me...when you need me..."

She fell asleep.

(Andrew)

=I smile, trying to keep my eyes on the road=

Well...at least that hasn't changed...

(Sarah)

=I smiled=

I'm feeling a bit better already...

=I continue to hug her=

But...some private sessions would feel even better...wouldn't you agree?

Miranda's face was bright red now.
"O-O-Okay?"

(Sarah)

=I stop right there...seeing her bright red made me reel it back=

Oh...don't worry bout it now. Some other time.

=I hear Andrew chuckle lightly up front=

(Andrew)

=I can't help but chuckle, but my mind was focused on some other things=

Where the hell could we find a radio tower?

=I sigh, feeling tired and clueless again=

Nodding, Miranda then leaned against Sarah, cuddling close. She snuggled warmly up to Sarah's side in a manner that was more friendly then intimately.

(Sarah)

=I wince slightly, but relax back into the seat=

Well...it'll keep...

=I rest my head on her shoulder and a hand on her head, smiling as I nodded off=

(Andrew)

=I keep looking out the window, hoping for a good sign=

Nothing...nothing but bad luck...

=I scan the horizon, hoping to spot something like a radio tower=

--Timeskip to the next morning--

(James)
=Morning came, first light breaking over the horizon and soon bathing us all in a red glow. A light kist had fallen over the area, and I quickly untangled myself from Hibiki as she slept. We'd need to cast off soon=

(Sam)
=At some point,I had fallen asleep. Woke up with one hell of a headache though, butim not sure it was a true hangover. Not after one beer. I looked around, a little surprised by the surroundings before I remembered where we were. I was guessing we'd soon be leaving=

*Cooper*
=They had drove on through the night, coming to a stop at a rest stop alongside the road. That had been a few hours ago, and even now they were getting ready to move. Cooper already had a destination in mind, having now seen it in the distance, illuminated by the morning light. A tower, possibly a radio tower. With luck, they could get it working long enough to try and raise Marcus, or James=

(Andrew)

=I rub my eyes, blurry with sleep. But I spot it as well as Cooper. A glint of metal, and it was tall=

Cooper...you seeing what I'm seeing?

=I try to keep my focus on the road, even with the lack of sleep=

*Cooper*
"I see it Andrew. It's where we're headed. Everyone, wake up, and get ready to move!"
=He started moving down the line of cars, banging on the hoods to wake people up=

(Andrew)

=I wake up Mira and Sarah=

Well...things seem to be looking up...

=I then start the engine after they got in=

Let's get going...cause this is the best luck we've had for weeks.

I jump right awake when somebody hit my hood. It took me a second to realize it wasn't Zombies, but somebody waking everyone up.
As I put my pistol away, I rub the crust off my eyes and look around. Everything seemed to be okay.
"Hey Jen... good morning."

Hibiki turned over, still asleep.

Eve snuggled closer, her sleeping form not wanting to part with Sam's warmth.

Mira sat up groggily. "Sarah, your boobs are amazing pillows." She managed to stumble into the car, knowing Andrew had a hardon for driving away as soon as possible.

Jen yawned. "Breakfast?"

(James)
=Gently, I poked Hibiki's shoulder, hoping to wake her=
"Wake up sleepy head."

(Sam)
=Too tired, and with the headache to boot, to actually get p, I just lay there on bed=

*Cooper*
"Come on people, wake up. We move in five minutes."

Hibiki groaned and lifted her head. "But I don't wanna go shoot some terrorists...I wanted to sleep."

(James)
=I blinked at her=
"uh, what?'

I heard the man yelling, by his voice I could tell it was Cooper. "We'll have to hurry I think. We're already about to leave."
I was still really tired, I didn't get much sleep last night. Not by the lack of time mind you, just paranoia. Last time I slept in a car,
those things thought I was food in a can. Let me tell ya, that's one helluva way to wake up.

Hibiki groaned.
"I don't want another day to start. It's gonna suck."

Eve mewled and snuggled even closer...yes it was possible.

(James)
"Stay in bed if you want, but we're casting off soon. Just wanted to let you know."
=And then I left her in bed while I went out to untie us from the dock=

(Sarah)

=I felt my face turn beet red from embarrassment, Andrew trying to stifle his laughter and sniggering=

Ummm...Thank you, Mira.

=My voice came out as a stammer, still embarrassed as hell=

(Andrew)

=I stiffled my laughter, sniggering like a demented man=

Well...looks like we got good fortune, today...Of course, that remains to be seen.

=I tried containing a childish grin as the two stumbled into the car, Sarah still red-faced from embarrassment=

Abel sat up as he was awoken by Cooper's yelling.  He grabbed his weapons from the ground and moved them into one of the vehicles.  He had heard someone say something about a radio tower in the distance.

Who's gonna be climbing that?

(James)
=Outside, people were already awake and beginning to pack up. It had been a safe night this time, but no one was willing to push their luck as they stored away camping supplies and food. Marcus was standing by the bus, coordinating the move. He looked in my direction, spotted me, and nodded. The message was clear: Good luck James. I nodded back, and untied the boat. Mark was awake, and exiting the living quarters when he saw me untie us. It was all he needed to see before he went back up to the bridge and started us up=

Hibiki sat up slowly, rubbing her eyes.

She felt the movement of the yacht. they were casting off.

(James)
=I walked back inside, into my room to find Hibiki waking up=
"Sleep well?"


=The caravan soon left, going across the bridge and following a road that would keep them close to the river. Or at least within radio range of the boat=

*Cooper*
=Once everyone was awake and ready to go, he hopped into his vehicle and began leading the small caravan for the radio tower. Granted, he had no idea which road to take that would get them there, so for now it was simply a matter f getting as close as possible=

Hibiki nodded. "Yep."

Eve groaned and woke up...then sighed softly. She decided to sit there and stroke Sam's hair.
"All mine...all...yours..."

(James)
"Well, not sure it matters much anyway. Seeing as how we're already moving and out of the worst of any danger."

(Sam)
=I woke up when I heard Eve's voice. The words 'all mine' were fairly clear for me to hear, and I won't lie.....I felt a slight chill in my spine. It was the way she said it, like I was some possession and not someone to be loved=

When Sam woke up, Eve stopped.
"Hey. Sleep well?"

(Sam)
"Yeah. Had a weird dream though where I was in a cage, like a prized bird."
=Actually my dream involved a moment between me and Eve, but I figured I might as well confront her over what she said in an indirect way=

Eve smiled. "At least it was a dream. You're not caged now. Nor will you ever be again.:
The girl leaned down to nuzzle Sam's cheek. "Better?"

(Sam)
"Just a bit. So, when should we see what's for breakfast?"

Eve shrugged. "Dunno."

(James)
=I sat down on the bed, though I didn't kick off my shoes=
"So, now that we have our family back together......heh, guess this has turned nine big family vacation now huh?"

(Sam)
"Should we find out?"

Hibiki giggled. "Yep. We need a barbecue."

Eve nodded. "Ok."

(James)
"We also need some decent meat for a barbecue."

(Sam)
"Then, are you going to get up so we can check? Or do I have to lead the way?"

Eve tilted her head, then smiled.
"Carry me?" She tried, but knew it would fail.

Hibiki yawned. "Yeah..."
