ZRP-2 Chapter 6: Scattered

"You can rest when you need to James. I'm not going anywhere." She smiled.

(James)
=I looked out the window as I worked, and saw that the sun was starting to set. Had it really been that long already? I suppose that with the events of the day....night was coming=
"Maybe we should take a break. Get something to eat maybe?"

She rolled over, modesty forgotten.
"I like that idea."

(James)
=I blushed a little at what I was now looking down at. Then I remembered this wasn't my first time seeing her like this=
"You know, we never did get those painkillers..."

"This was way better then painkillers." Hibiki assured him.

(James)
=Groaning, I plopped down on the bed next to her=
"Speak for yourself, I still feel like shit."

=I glowered at the pillow a little=
"Probably not for the reasons you'd think though."

Hibiki chuckled. "I guess not."

(James)
=It pained me to kill the mood. But I doubted I'd enjoy it if I kept what was on my mind bottled up=
"I could have killed him Hibiki. Killed the Pariah and....maybe not end it all, but give us a lot of breathing room. But in the end....I couldn't."

Hibiki rested her hand on James' arm.
"I...understand."

(James)
"Do you? Because at the end of the day, that's my brother. No matter what he's become."
=I continued to glower at the pillow=

"And if I couldn't do it then....how could I possibly ever do it next time?"

"James. When the time comes...you'll do the right thing." She smiled softly. "Please...no more doom and gloom."

(James)
"I'll try..."
But in the end....it's always going to be him and me. Him or me.

"So....care to give me a massage now? Or was I not done?"

"You didn't get my lower back or legs." Hibiki said, sticking her tongue out.

(James)
"Heh, alright then roll over and let me finish."

Hibiki rolled over. "Wonder what the kids are doing..."

(James)
=As I began rubbing her lower back, I thought about it=
"Probably just laying around, being lazy."

"Gotta wonder what our daughters are doing...parent thing..." she groaned. "Right there. That minks has been there since Metropolis."

(James)
=Grinning, I applied a little extra pressure as I smoothed things out=
"Probably working up to what we do maybe."

"Who knows. I'm afraid of your back now." She sighed. "Has to be worse."

(James)
"Yeah, with all the shit I've been through."
=My hands went down to her legs, rubbing gently. Geez I was tense, but her legs felt like they were wound tight. How the hell had she managed to keep walking?=

"Wonder how long we'll make this victory last...."

"As long as we possibly can." Hibiki answered. "As long as we can."

(James)
"Until the next problem rears it's ugly head."
=Well, I certainly felt done with this, so I stopped. I just stopped and leaned back to give her space=

"How do you feel?"

"Amazing." Hibiki smiled. "Thank you James."

(James)
"Well I try."
=Resuming my position of being lain out on the bed, I turned so I faced up, eyes boring into the ceiling=

"What are we doing Hibiki? I mean what are we all doing?"

Hibiki laid onto James' chest. "We're trying to live."

(James)
"Then why don't I feel alive anymore?"

"What do you mean? Why can't you feel alive? You have me, you have Eve. Sam. The caravan." She kisses his neck. "You have so much to be alive for...why can't you feel?"

(James)
"I don't know. I just......I don't know."

Hibiki fell silent.

Eve looked up. "So...is it night yet?"

(Sam)
"Come on, get off me and I'll have a look."

(James)
"Or maybe I'm just having a bad day because I saw my brother again."

Eve gotnoff her without complaint.

Hibiki sighed. "Just a bad day."

(Sam)
=Free to move, I walked over to the nearest window for the basement. I peered through it, and saw that the sun was indeed low on the horizon=
"It's getting dark. We should get some candles or something, otherwise we'll be blind down here."

(James)
"Probably."

Eve stood. "I think sime extra candles are in the kitchen."

Hibiki straddled James' waist. "Is this making it better?"

(James)
=I groaned at the new weight on my hips, but smiled when I got used to it=
"A little."

(Sam)
"Okay, I'll go get them."
=With that, I got up to leave and headed up the stairs=

Eve wantee to undress and wait with nothing but a smile...but that would piss Sam off.
So she sat quietly.

Hibiki rested her hands on his chest. "Better then nothing."

(James)
=Grinning, I rested my own hands on hers, gripping them gently=
"Well, come on now. I eased your tension. Care to return the favor?"

(Sam)
=I found the candles. And a lighter to boot. Carrying them all carefully, I made my way down the steps into the basement. Without looking at Eve, I started laying the candles out on a nearby bench, lighting them one by one=

Hibiki nodded, sliding off of James.
"Roll over then."

Eve looked at Sam, waiting with practiced patience.

(James)
=I did, getting flat on my stomach. My shirt stayed on though=

(Sam)
=One look at Eve and I knew that she could barely contain anything. There was something about the eagerness though, that unnerved me. Don't get me wrong, I was excited myself but the pleasure bit paled in comparison to the emotional bit. Somehow it almost looked like she didn't give a damn about love, just the physical need. That I was just something to indulge in. And it was close to giving me second thoughts......but I made it this far, right?=

Hibiki straddled James' waist and began to massage him back.

Eve blushed. "Sam...before we do this...two things. One. Can we change and tighten my bandages, and two...I want to do this...because I love you. You know that, right?"

(Sam)
"I know Eve."
=I sat down on the bed and gestured for her to to remove her shirt so I could get to the bandages=

"It's just the way you look at me sometimes that has me so nervous. Like you don't see Sam, you just see a giant toy. Or a prize."

(James)
=I groaned a little. She wasn't bad=
"You're doing good."

Slipping her shirt off, Eve looked...ashamed. "sometimes I did. When I didn't know how to act. But I swear. I don't see you as a prize. Nor a toy. Sam...I see you as the only person I ever want to say 'I love you' in that intimate way. The only person I want to see me bared." She looked at Sam. "So please....if you feel like my gaze is wrong...tell me. I...I want to know how to make you feel at ease and happy with me more then annoyed."

Hibiki grinned. "Thanks." She continued. "Damn. You are tense."

(James)
"Well I've got more muscle than you. A lot more to screw up I guess."

(Sam)
=Without responding, I twisted her head back so it would be easier to change the bandages=
"Eve, the looks you give me some times aren't annoying. They're unnerving. But I know it's not the girl I fell for."

Eve sniffed. "Then...how do I look at you?" She asked softly."tell me what to do."

"You said it." She worked on his shoulders. "You should stop screwing up your back."

(Sam)
"Stop thinking of the other thing as the icing on the cake. Hell, don't think about it at all. Just focus on me, the person."

(James)
"The world shouldn't have gone to shit. And you twisting my arm to fight doesn't help much."

Eve nodded. "Ok..." she promised. "I will."

Hibiki frowned. "I want you to live..."

(James)
"And my odds of living get even better everytime I go to fight..."

(Sam)
"Good."
=I was done with the bandage=

"There, all better now."

Smiling, Eve held her arms out. "I'm ready." She said softly.

"We proved running away fails." Hibiki pointed out.

(Sam)
"Alright...."
=Next thing I knew....I was kissing her=

(James)
"Yeah...then again that was only when we were forced to run."

Eve kissed right back, her arms going to Sam's waist. She didn't touch Sam elsewhere, not sure what she had to do.
So...Eve just kissed right back.

"You know it sucked anyways." Hibiki retorted.

(James)
"Maybe."

(Sam)
=As I kissed her, I began to remove my shirt, breaking the kiss long enough to get it off. When it was, my hands began to rub her legs as I continued with the kiss=
