Mission One: Ciricunius II

Hayha nodded, sighing and scratching his finally exposed neck a little.

"We need to scope the place out first. Find vents, weak spots, doors, anything. Once we know that our group can get in, we'll deal with the reasons or methods for you guys getting in."

Hayha thought back to an earlier operation, and bit his lip as he remembered how it ended. But it's beginning had been great, so perhaps...

"And a patrol. If we see a patrol, we take them the fuck out. That'll give us outfits, and the chance to take others in as prisoners. We might all be able to get in at once."

Hayha halted the second he saw the Hog. He'd expected the patrol to be two, maybe three people.
Not ten armed with a God damned Warthog.

Hayha noticed that they were carrying MA5Ks, and instantly he was worried. Those were UNSC Special Operations firearms. If Innies had them...
He leant over to Winter, subtly.

"You see those guns?"

Sinead saw the firearms and chose to not draw her side arm and start shooting. Even for someone as mad as her, you would have to be crazy to start shooting when so vastly out-gunned. She kept silent, while she waited for whatever the outcome was to be.
Her eyes rested on the driver of the hog, if it came to a shoot out he would be the one that she would kill.

Sasha didn't move, or answer Hayha, she kept her eyes focused on the rebel who was apparently in charge, but was keeping some attention on those behind him.

The squad leader stopped just short of you.

"Now who in the hell are you guys? And what in the hell are you dressed as?"

Without waiting for an answer, he made a joke to the squad behind him and they all laughed at you.

"You ain't one of our patrols and there ain't no town for a good 50 miles. So my reckoning is that either you guys are recruits who decided to hike all the way out here dressed like a bunch o' olives or you're some UNSC spies like."

It was clear to you that he wasn't the smartest of guys in the world and he had absolutely no clue about ODST's.

Lucky break, I guess.

Hayha remained silent. As the leader spoke, he began to avert his gaze from the guns and to the figurehead, and slouched a little in his calm.

They were dealing with a buffoon. Good.

Sasha stepped forwards.
"W-we're recruits," She stammered, "We thought that hiking here would give us a better chance of not being turned away. We want to fight the UNSC,"

The leader looks happy with that explanation. A lot of his squad are frowning though, and it's clear some of them have combat experience.

Maybe this isn't going to go so well for you.

A particular mouth individual pipes up.

"Sarge. I don't trust them. I think they're Oh Dee Ess Tee's. You ever see a Civi dress like that?"

The leader considers this for a moment and then shrugs.

"You're too paranoid Kawalski. Now can it. You lot can keep walking to the base, we've got a patrol route to keep."

He turns his back on you, as do almost all of the squad, moving back towards the hog.

There are 8 MA5K's.

"Well... We are dead" Sinead muttered under her breath loud enough to be heard clearly. She did not answer the leader of the innies. The fact that she lacked her armour now and the delight of heavier weapons, Sinead's morale was plummeting rapidly.

Sasha debated shooting. An MA5K each would be extremely valuable, but how would they explain where they got them upon infiltrating? There was also a high chance of dying before killing the innies, which helped with her decision,
"Let's go guys,

Hayha sighed. Innies, Special Operations firearms, outfits, and a Hog? It was too good to pass up, even if it was almost definitely going to get him killed.

Hayha stepped forward, grabbing the leader around the neck in a choke hold, just loose enough to not start to choke the bugger. Hayha wrestled for control over the MA5K.

"Now would be a good time to shoot."

Sinead spat out a curse, things had been going so well but between removing her armour and being not allowed her favourite weapons her morale was rock bottom. She did not really possess the stomach for a fight at the moment. Instead she chose to take cover that a small ditch provided, not even drawing her side arm and even more crucially she did not open fire. No, instead, her courage deserted her and maybe it was simply too much combat Sinead curled up in a small ball and hunkered down.

Sasha reacted, drawing her pistol and shooting two rounds at the leader, followed by three at the innies facing away from her.

You fire the shots off.

1-3: You hit the leader and score a kill.

4-5: You hit the Leader and score a wound

6: You miss

User rolled a 2 and a 4.

You fire again at the Rebels who are walking away

1-2: You hit and score a kill.

3-4: You hit and score a wound

5-6: Miss.

User rolled a 5, 3 and 6

The leader goes down on the first shot, your second shot is wasted on a corpse. Of the next three, only one hits it's target, scoring a wound on the back of the knee.

Hayha scrambles, grabbing the now downed MA5K and lifting it up. Full mag. Thirty rounds.

He took aim as fast as he could, firing two shots at each Innie.

At the gunfire Sinead whimpered and pressed herself deeper into the damp earth.

"Nice, Hayha," Sasha said, lowering her weapon, "And here I was, almost thinking you were useless. Getting taken down by an innie like that," She added, jokingly, "What do you think we should do with them?" She asked, holding her hand out to the marine.

Hayha walks over to them both, and fires twice more, killing them both.

"No use to anyone anymore."

"So now we get all their, uhh, ammunition and things?" Jesus asked

Sasha walked over to one of the wounded insurrectionists, kicking him in his wounded leg,
"You, unless you want to end up like your friends, tell me everything you know about the base,"

Hayha looked at the others, letting Winter do her thing.

"You three, search these bodies. Ammo, notes, anything. And then strip down these ones."
He motioned to the Innies he'd executed, frowning as he checked his mag and made his way over to the Hog to examine it.

"Orchestra, stay the fuck down, I'll deal with you in a minute," Sasha ordered angrily, before she turned back to the innie, "Talk or I'll blow your brains out," she said, pointing her pistol at his head.

Sinead had, after discovering that the battle was over uncurled from ball she had forced herself into, the top of her head now visible from the cover. She sat there in the ditch, not really moving her mind moving in a slow pattern, running through familiar motions but nothing seemed to start her off moving, or fighting.
She gazed blankly at something in the distance, appearing deaf to the world for all the attention she paid to it. Sinead did not seem to hear the order from her commanding officer, maybe she did but she did not care. Her hands twiddled idly with a blade of grass, her mind was clearly not there at the present.

"Oh for fuck's sake," Sasha cursed, pulling the trigger, shooting the innie in the forehead. "What about you?" She asked one of the others, "Did you bite your tongue too?"

This rebel was the one shot first in the fight. He raises his head to the barrel of the pistol.

"Fuck you."

"Really?" She asked, putting her boot over the gunshot wound and applying pressure, "Trust me, I won't make it quick,"

"Just shoot the fucking gun, you cunt."

The rebel stared defiantly at her and spat at her face,

Sasha looked over to the last two innies,
"You two, watch," She said, drawing her knife, "Hayha, make sure they do,"

Hayha instantly turned, walking over to them and grabbing them both by their hair, his gun holstered.

"This is gonna be fun."

One of the other rebels kicks out at Hayha and lunges at Sasha quickly.

"UNSC SCUM."



1-3: He misses you completely, sprawling in the dirt uselessly
4-5: He knocks you off balance but you're able to throw him to the side.
6: He knocks you down to the ground and straddles you, wrestling for the knife

You're knocked backwards and landed down hard on your arse. The knife you were holding in your hand impales itself in your thigh.

Sasha swore again as the knife went into her leg, this mission was a disaster. She ignored the burning pain of the knife cut and brought her pistol to a firing position and unloaded five rounds at the innie.

Hayha swore to himself, slamming the face of the still captive Innie into the ground, his foot on the bastards head as he held his gun up and aimed at the Innie still on his knees.

"You okay there?"

The rebel about to be tortured nodded towards the one that had been forced to eat dirt.

"You wonder why we don't like you. Maybe you should treat us as human beings."

"Maybe you should fucking act like one," Sasha snapped at the innie, standing up. Her wound wasn't too bad, it'd probably just need a bandage. She limped over to the Warthog, searching it for a first aid kit.

Hayha looked around, frowning as he examined the corpses around them.

"You guys are a patrol unit. You'd have some cuffs or something, wouldn't you?"
He spoke teasingly, as if implying that if he didn't get the real answer there'd be some more dirt for lunch.

Sighing, Sasha dropped back to the ground, her back resting against the 'hog. She ripped a thin strip off of her clothing, tying that strip around the wound and standing back up, reloading her pistol.
"Orchestra, over here," She ordered.

The rebel with his face in the dirt was the one who'd spoken out earlier.

"Naarh. They don't trust us with nuthin. We got patrol across the desert. Ain't nuthin gunna ever be on our route. That's why they send us. Keep's us busy.

'Till you guys shown up eenyway."

Sinead turned round slowly as if she had only distantly heard her last name called. She looked almost confused but after a few moments forced herself to stand and made her way over to Sasha. Sinead tried to ignore the human bodies and the horrible feeling that churned in her stomach at the sight of slain humans. She was still silent, her eyes bright with a mad light that had long since burned within her.

Sasha glared at Sinead, her anger was obvious,
"I swear," she said, slowly and deliberately, "If you ever do anything like that again, I will shoot you myself. Cowardice can get us all killed, do you understand?"

Hayha frowned, looking back at Winter at Orchestra, shaking his head before turning back to the Innie.

"So, you're the Dumbass Brigade?"

Sinead looked confused, almost like a child who had been scolded for something which they had believed was good. "Why kill humans for?" She asked innocently as if it was beyond her comprehension. Perhaps it was, through her eyes the slain innies looked like her dead comrades, or lay next to them in battle. "Why kill more humans when the covvies want to do it for us?" She did not believe her actions to be cowardice more a refusal to open fire on her species.

"Fuck you."

The rebel spat at the dirt a little way away from where his head was.

"Because you have to," Sasha answered, "Hayha, are you done over there?" She asked, turning around, "We need to get moving,"
