David blinked, surprised, "Wow. Alright, then." David decided to walk back to his room, lying down, "Do I have to do any more ops for the Black Hand, or what?"

(They had fallen asleep)

(He lurks around the Prowler)
(He finds himself in the medbay. It is dark)

"No, David, You don't, at least to my knowledge." the Doctor looks around and sighs.

=As he sits on the bench, he begins pondering about his past, and what he was on Shadow of the Moon. He removes his helmet and holds it in his lap. A rat wearing a black colar crawls out of his front breastpocket and sits on his shoulder=

Xazhi- Oh hey, Mal. Do you think i did the right thing? I mean, staying on Shadow of the Moon for so long, and abandoning my life as a spartan, and my men?

=the rat looks at him and looks straight up, scratching its chin=

Xazhi- I think you are right. I should've gone back. But Jack... He was like a father to me. The father i never had. I couldnt just abandon him, even though he was a murderer...

=The rat again looks at him and scratches its ears=

Xazhi- You make a valid point. Here.

=He reaches into his other pocket and retreives a cracker and hands it to the rat. It takes the cracker in its tiny hands and chews it up quickly. It looks back to Xazhi and places its tiny hand on his cheek=

Xazhi- Alright, alright...

=He picks the rat up off his shoulder and places it back in his pocket with another cracker. He sighs to himself and puts his helmet back on=

Xazhi- I should find somewhere to sleep...

=the escorts arrive and immediately train their guns on me. i put my hands up and walk about the ship, thinking and remembering my past. i walk past the cells and see a person put a small rat in his pocket. i'm so damn happy that i am like a little kid again. i stop to talk to him= Hey, who are you?

=He stands up and looks at the man, who appears to be a spartan=

Xazhi- Xazhi 1210 of the 128th Spartan batallion.

=He shakes his hand and the rat pokes its head out of his pocket. Xazhi chuckles breifly=

=The rat takes Dormii's finger in its tiny hands as if a handshake=

Xazhi- Yea, it was supposed to be ironic. He's actually quite a well-behaved little rodent.

=i move my finger up to pet it on the head=

=He chuckles breifly=

Xazhi- During a long-ass time me and my men were stranded with little supplies, i found him in my cereal.

=He laughs again=

=i pull my hand back and laugh=

Xazhi- Well, given the conditions we were living under, it gave me a good laugh.

=He looks tired=

Xazhi- Hey would you happen to know where the barracks are?

No, sorry.

=i go into my cell and close and lock the door= Take the marines with you. They'll be able to help.

=i lie on the bed and sleep=

=He thinks about why the Spartan would be in the Cell, then remembers the name. Dormii Fortuni. He is too tired to think about being slaughtered, so he asks the marines for directions to the Barrakcs. He heads off, finds an empty room, and heads in. He hangs up his coat on the side of the bed, and goes to sleep=

"sounds like a plan, David." the Doctor continues to wander the ship. Wander the ship and think about things in the past. Think about his First Wife. As he thought about her he felt mixed emotions. He was sad: she died so long ago to something that he should've been able to cure. He was happy: all the things they did together, the children they had. After she died he tried to move on. Tried to find a spark in others. It never lasted. Now he's alone. No one in the world to come home to complain about how the synthesis wasn't done properly. Not one to come home to to listen about how their work schedule was, who did what, or who did who, or some gossip. No one to lay next to in bed. No partner to sit next to. To read by. To be by. His first travels abroad led him to a candidate, but didn't take well.[i] poor kid, he had a bright future ahead of him. ONI thought he had a brighter one as a SPARTAN. Dormii. His parents must have been some people, to name there kid in latin, Dream. Wonder if that was there real last name: Belli. Seems like a name given to people who need to disappear for a little bit. Sounds like they were on the run, or moved to stay safe. Witness Protection program, maybe? Little late to think about that though, isn't it? They way he acted the first time we met, I must have been the first person to be nice to him. Perhaps he was Orphaned? oh how I wonder....[i] The Doctor continues on down the hall. wondering.

"Well, Nikolaus...As long as I'm not doing shit for ONI, feel free to ask me to do any jobs. It was fun...For the most part. I'd just like to know what those things were."

The Doctor is lost in thought, not hearing David until the end of his sentence ".....those things were." The Doctor pauses for a moment. "David, what things?"

David sighed, "I don't know if you saw them too, might have been the injection...But I saw these...things. I don't know how to describe them, but they looked like ghouls."

"sounds to me like you were hallucinating. I saw nothing. well, not true, I saw people flying into walls and ceilings and get liquified by an invisible force. it looked like a child having a temper tantrum. Only two-billlion percent more brutal. If I wanted to get covered in blood raining from the ceiling it set it up in a sprinkler system. I wouldn't smash many bodies into the ceiling until it happened. I mean fuck. I'm going to have nightmares about that."

David decided to lay down, putting his arms behind his head, "Blood raining from the ceiling? Odd. Did you get the info you needed, at least?"

"Yes, I did. At least something went according to plan." The Doctor sighs, deciding to head back to his private room. "David, were you ever in the UNSC, as a marine, not with ONI?"

"I was, actually. i had a different name, however. You know that."

"Right, Forgot." The Doctor thought now if only I knew what that was..... "do you miss it?"

David thought back to Arcadia, "I miss some things about it, why?"

"Sometimes...I wonder what it would have been like if things were different. I don't know. I shouldn't bother you with this. I need some sleep, I'll talk with you later." The Doctor enters his Private chambers and undresses himself, removes his Comm-device and all other tech. Getting under the sheets he thinks back to his Wife and smiles, before succumbing to Sleeps sweet embrace.

"Right. G'night, Nikolaus." David took his comms-device out, putting it on the table next to him before passing out.

(He stirs)
(He awakens)
(He looks around and sighs)

I hate this place more and more with each passing moment.

(He looks at Ash)

At least I still have you.

=Ash sighs having been unable to sleep=

=She sits up, looking at the cell door longing to be free=

=Xazhi wakes up, feeling more than a little bit sick. He hadnt been on a ship in so long, but he was begining to get used to it again. He sits up and looks at his clock. 3:69/Adh, Srevaerian time. He does some math in his head, and determines that it is probably somewhere around Morning in standard Earthan time as well, although his head is foggy and he may be off. He gets up and throws his coat on over his armor, and put on his helmet. He starts wandering the halls looking for a mess hall, or something similar=
