Okay, so the ship that launches the pod enters slip-space, and we head for the coordinates of Vigil's base. They jettison me from the ship, I exit slip-space, and infiltrate the base. Now, for the first part to work, I'm going to have to be launched a sufficient distance from the exact coordinates. from there, I land, and infiltrate the base, and disable any defenses present.

oh, come on, i saw you looking at sarah, it's obvious you like her... i would go for her, before someone else does... like me.

She is my student. If you want her. I will not stand in the way. It is what she wants. That is the important thing.

If that's the case, then why did he propose?

He proposed because that gives him new reason to live, to make sure he survives. And, i'm guessing that he wanted to at least propose so that, even if does die, he'd die knowing that you knew how much he loved you.
