Fallout RP Chapter 1

"Well I be damned... he killed a Deathclaw with a knife..." I shook my head in amazement.

"What the fuck is that?" The one with the power Amour asked, taking noticed of the Eyebot.

He's never seen a Eyebot before? Obliviously he is new to this area. Which means he can't be with the Brotherhood

I Pause for a second, then plug in a near bye mic into the Eyebot control computer and turn it on.

"hello?...."

I drop a fresh clip into my rifle and drop to my knee, aiming at the Eyebot.

"Who are you?"

I pull out my 44. magnum and aim it at the flying ball thing.
"What the hell... It can talk?"

"I am Lieutenant Itou of the Enclave. And No, the bot can't talk but it can be used to broadcast messages live or recorded. Now who are you?

Enclave?! I thought they all died off in the Mariposa base...
"How is it the Enclave are still alive?"

I pull the bolt on my rifle.

"Corporal James Cook of the New California Republic Army. Why are you spying on us?"

"The Enclave is still active in some parts of the wasteland, up until recently we had a base here... but... Never mind, and Spying is the wrong term Corporal. You and you're friends are attracting alot of attention, if you're not careful you'll be dead in minutes."

"And who exactly is going to do that?"

"Now days you can't be sure, there's the Jet junkie raiders. The cold professional killers of Talon Merc, and lastly the swarms of Super mutants everywhere in the D.C. Ruins."

"Well, what do you suggest we do? The rest of the NCR group we were with are about a day's hike from here."

"Well It depends on what you plan on doing. If you plan on taking the city you might as well go home, the brotherhood of Steel and the settlements here wouldn't take to kindly to idea."

"Neither of those is an option. We have the largest enemy we've ever faced right behind us, not to mention they're the reason there are so few of us. Right now, I want to survive."

I cursed under my breath.

"As much as I hate to admit it, your best chance is the Brotherhood, you could probably stay at Rivet City for awhile but It's pretty crowded up there and they tend to be assholes to strangers, or anyone in general."

"You really don't know? We went to war with the Brotherhood not too long ago. I doubt they're going to be happy to see us."

"The Enclave lost all contact with the west coast years ago, If there was a war we weren't aware with it. And sadly the Brotherhood has the most power in the Area, if the Capital Wasteland is under attack then their our best chance... the only other choice would be to form a militia of mercs and citizens."

"A militia would do no good, these bastards have defeated the NCR Army, we need professional soldiers, not a thrown together bunch of wastelanders."

"Well..."

My mind flashed back to the last we left our subway camp, we had come across a caravan traveling through the city and attempted to talk to them. Before we could even get say hello they opened fire on us, we managed to get away without having to kill the caravan but it was something none of us wanted to repeat.

We're enemies to the people of this wasteland, if we came riding up to rescue them we'll be mowed down on both sides... but I can't just sit by and let them die any more

"Look... If you're cause is to really save the wasteland then I could provide some help, but if any of you give me reason to suspect treachery then I will kill you... understand?"

"I understand. Just don't get captured by the Legion. They're not nice to prisoners, even more so to women."

"Okay, so we have remnants of the Enclave on our side now... What's up with this place?''
I sigh, put away my magnum, grab my rifle, load a clip into it and look up to the sky.
It's still night time but really far into it. The day might come sooner then I had thought...

"Gather the rest of you're men and send a runner to the others, at first light I'll have my squad on the outskirts of the city near Rivet City. We'll rendezvous there and work out a place to set up base and start planing... we're going to need powerful allies, if the brotherhood won't listen then our best bet are the Talon Mercs. They may be cold hearted but they probably won't like the idea of being taken over, our only problem is getting the to listen.. Itou out"

The thought of a upcoming war scared her, but she couldn't help to feel a little eagerness at the memory of adrenaline and battle. A ghost of smile came onto her lips as she called the commands to Rapture squad.

"You can see us, right? How many of us there are? Do you think we have a runner with us?"

I sigh.

"Besides, I have a feeling that my platoon has been wiped out."

I rub my head in frustration.

"Well then just stick to the plan and meet up with me, pick up any stragglers on the way. Also I have a scout in the are, you can meet up with him on the way."

I look at the trooper.

"Looks like we're hiking all night."

I turn to the two wastelanders.

"You're welcome to come along if you want."

I stand and start walking towards Rivet City.

"Uh. Do you even know where we're going? Or which direction Rivet City is?"
I don't wait for an answer and just follow him.

"I'm not gonna sit by, while some boys in football pads invade my town."
I follow the heavy trooper.
"I do if he doesn't."

"No, I don't know where Rivet City is, but we're meeting the others outside that ship."

I angle myself towards it, putting my rifle on my back and reloading my pistol.

=I go over to the two soldiers=

I can guide you Rivet City...I make occasional runs there.

=I then point a thumb over my left shoulder=

"Alright, please do."
I put away my weapons and expect him to start leading us there.

=I head in the direction of the carrier=

Just follow me boys...and mind the terrain.

=I keep moving, my eyes watching the terrain=

We packed up everything we could and carry and set out of the metro, and started making their way slowly and stealthy though the city streets.

I hope this is the right choice... I don't want my squad to get stabbed in the back by these 'NCR'. But I also don't want to see the people in chains severing these tribes.

Everyone In Rapture sqaud had agreed to the plan with only little hesitation.

Most of us would rather die with a gun in our hand, than asleep in our beds

The thought of settling down and starting a family had crossed her mind many times, but her place was at the head of Rapture squad for now.

"Iunno about you Heavy but I'm sticking with the guy who knows the area."
I do just that. Following the local. I forgot his name.

Henry split from the group of NCR soldiers, and started his way north.
He figured he'd do something similar that the troopers were doing.
Although a bit different than warning people.

Henry began heading more west than north.
The sun now out of his eyes and behind him.
This journey could take quite some time, but it should be worth it.

Well. We kept following the local. Nothing's tried to kill us thus far, but something could in a couple seconds.

Gideon stood at the three story tower, watching the surrounding areas. He personally kept an eye on the nearby subway entrance. Mercs were appearing out of there in greater numbers, it was getting worrying.
But it wasn't his duty. His duty was to guard the gate, and guard the gate he did. His assault rifle held tight, his eyes scanning over the road that led to the Jefferson Memorial. Rivet City was the last true home of the Capital Wasteland, and he'd die before it fell.

=I keep picking my way through the terrain, watching for any of the numerous hazards that dotted the outer wastes=

Vigilance has kept me alive this far...

=I continue to lead the others, finding the subway entrance that marked the next shortest route to Rivet City=

Patrolling the Wasteland was never boring. But right now it was... quiet. No mutants, no raiders. Nothing.

It felt good, being encased in a metal suit of armour. Almost like being invincible, but I wasn't. That was something you get out of your head straight away, or you died. Wastelanders looked up to us. They helped when they could, whether it being food, beds or water. I didn't see what we did as needing a reward, it was our duty with all the gear we had.

Initiate Ryan: "Why are we out here checking on water? Shouldn't we be killing some uglies or something?"

"Be quiet, Initiate. Water will save more lives than a few dead mutants."

Knight Captain Lucker: "She's right, Initiate.Besides, We're almost at Rivet City"

Gideon pulled his shades off for a moment, looking out over the road, past what was, thankfully, an annexed Mutant camp. sure enough, a group of armoured suits were headed his way, one of the many Caravan patrols.
He was starting to grow weary of them. As kind hearted as his brothers and sisters were, with the Outcasts joining back in, and Hillion, they were being corrupted. Whoever was leading this group would more than likely not enjoy seeing him again.

=I walk slowly out of the metro, seeing a Brotherhood patrol, and I motion for the others to wait=

Easy...don't get trigger happy, and just hold here for a few minutes..

=I wait silently for the exchange to end=

I look at Rivet City, noting the guard wearing Power Armour.
As we get closer, I start to recognise him.

I glare under my helmet.

"You."

I sigh, scratching my head.
"Hmph, I'd recognise that voice." I say, looking away as I chuckle a little. I walk down the ramps, towards the small desk behind which Lepelletier sat. "Brotherhood patrol, Lep." She looked up at me, and sighed, as she got out the caravan papers.

I march up the steps, putting my laser rifle on my back lest I shoot the guard, the Knight Captain and Initiate knew better than to stop me.

"Gideon, you spineless piece of shit. Hiding in Rivet City rather than face the Wasteland and your brothers?"

He lowered his gun, looking into the reflective glass of her helmet. Gideon hated dealing with this kind of thing, he'd dealt with it enough already. "Nice to see you too, Kelly." Gideon turned, walking back up the ramps, looking over his shoulder.

"I left the Brotherhood and their reinforced confines so that I could protect people. I protect these people, the people of Rivet City, every single day. If I could guard every city and town from here to the Republic, I would."

"What? Rather than going looking for people in need, you wait for them to come to you? How is that protecting anyone that needs it?"

I turn to face Kelly, frowning.
"Because there's no point. We can't save those people, as badly as we wish we could. People die in the Wastes, every single day. We can't defend those that risk their lives, they have the gall and the personal strength to do that, risk their lives so they could have something better."

I walk forward, almost a foot taller than Kelly. "We need to defend those who cannot properly defend themselves. Who could we protect out there, Kelly? The many people that wander, confused and scared? The addicts? There's no one left too protect." I look up at Rivet City, sighing.
"Even here... it could be argued."

I resist the urge to punch him, even if only it might kill him while I'm in Power Armour.

"You sound like Hillion and his precious Outcasts."
