ZRP-2: Brave New World

"Yes?"

I look over to her, those two words had my attention.

(James)
=Climbing out of bed, I stripped out of my sweat drenched clothes, the fabric clinging to my body. Before I would have been uncomfortable, getting nude in front of a woman like Hibiki. Now though.....well, we had both seen each other nude. Nothing she hasn't seen before. Grabbing fresh clothes from my bag, I got dressed, stashing the old one back in=
"Alright, let's get going."

(Sam)
=I smiled as I felt her hand, so small yet warm and soft, entwine with mine again. Standing, I led her from the room, my stuff in a bag hanging from my shoulder=

"I feel sort of guilty you have to sleep in the chair... you can sleep with me."

I blush brightly and sort of look away.

"Imeannotlikethat... like you on one side... and me on the other.."

I feel the blood rush up to my face. Obviously making me blush too.

"Thank you. But I must warn you. I sleep like a rock, don't expect me to move."

"That's ok, I'm just going to lay here for alittle longer and see if I can't get a few more minutes"

I scoot over.

"So you can join me.... if you want...."

"Um... sure, I'll join you. Might as well right?"

I take off my coat and put it on the chair. Then I walk over to the bed and slip under the blankets.
First thing I notice, my back feels muuuuch better. Probably because I hadn't been in a proper bed in some time.

"Awww... that feels nice."

"See! That chair is going to kill you if you keep it up."

I smile slightly at my joke.

I grin and roll over so that I'm facing her.

"It's a good thing you're nice enough to share."

It was really more of a complement then a joke then I meant.

I scoot closer to him.

"You've done so much for me. its only proper I do something to make up for it."

"Naw. Don't think like that. I only did what was right. You don't owe me anything."

I notice (kinda hard not to) that she moved closer to me and... I think I like that.

I smile at his modest comment. and wrap my arm around him, snuggling into his chest.

"You're a great person.."

"Tha- Thank you... you are too."

I had my arm going underneath her head and wrapped around her into a hug... type thing. I don't know. Itwas just arounbd her.

I had always secretly been the cuddling type, and after a long time of sleeping alone, cuddling with Tyler felt amazing. I give an smile, and doze back off into a light sleep in Tyler's arms.

Abel pondered over the conversation that he had with Brook. Maybe she was right, a life of waiting for death may be worse than death itself. But as long as he feared death, he'd fight it. Still, it kept Abel up, well that and the excessive nightmares keeping him from getting any kind of rest. Abel sat atop the roof the whole night, barely getting so much as a blink of rest.

I looked at the man, bound and gagged on the floor. He was a Shepard. And he'd walked into a trap. I was going to have some fun with him.

"You know... For one of the most dangerous groups in the world, you're not too bright... Walking into my trap like that? Doubt even a zombie'd be that stupid."

I circle him, my pistol in my hand.

"Then again, you're the kind of psycho that celebrates this. I suppose you're not insane, right? But, you are." I let out a loud laugh. "We all are! That's the thing with insanity, you never admit it. But we're all insane. Me, you, survivor, Shepard. We-Are-All-Insane."

I stop and crouch, looking into his eyes.

"I ever tell you the definition of insanity? Insanity is doing the same thing over and over expecting something to change."

I stand up. Looking down at him again.

"Both of us, we... repeat things every day. I keep walking and walking, like I expect something to get better, and you, you keep killing survivors, expecting that you're gonna inherit the world or something..."

I walk back behind him as I talk.

"... But you're not. I mean, how're you gonna outlast the fuck-knows-how many who are still alive? Faith in God? Because the thing with God... The thing with God is..."

I quieten my voice slightly.
"The thing with God is that he can't stop a bullet, can he?"

I point my pistol at his head, and pull the trigger.

"Didn't think so."

=Sam and Eve were following us as we left the inn. I wasn't sure where Tyler or Brook was, so I had to assume they were either getting ready or already at the warehouse. I should have been worried about them trying to take the cars....if I didn't already have the keys on me. Could they have hotwired a car? Maybe, it was a skill one picked up these days, but I doubted it=

Hibiki held onto James. "I'm driving." She said. "The charger. No if, ands, or buts."

Eve kept close to Sam, the cat mewling softly on her head. Her hand didn't leave Sam's.

(James)
"No problem."
=I handed her the key for the charger, and kept walking with her. I was still riding shotgun=

(Sam)
"I thought you were leaving her with the kids?"

Hibiki took the keys with a smile.

Eve shrugged. "She won't get off my head."

(James)
=We soon reached the cars, and I stopped. Everything was fine, don't get me wrong, but I felt we should at least wait for the others to arrive=

(Sam)
"Well, try running around or something. The cat's cute and everything, but I don't think it would be a good idea bringing her along."

"I did." Eve responded.

Hibiki climbed into the Charger. "Mount up!"

(James)
"Hibiki, we should probably wait for the others. It's still early in the morning, and we don't exactly have the longest of drives on our hands here. We can afford to wait a few more minutes."

(Sam)
"Damn.....get some cat nip or something then."

"Fiiine." She said, relaxing in the seat.

Eve looked at Sam. "End of the world. Where would I find catnip?"

=I holler at them, coming over to one of the cars=

Well...Road trip anyone?

=I get in the driver's seat of one of the cars, wearing a silly grin=

=Looking at Andrew, I grinned=
"Yeah, I guess it is a bit of a road trip. Okay, so that's Andrew and Miranda. Where's Tyler and Brook?"

(Sam)
"Who knows? Maybe we find a PetSmart along the way."

Brook had stayed up on the roof all night with Abel. She ended up falling asleep there, though she never moved and didn't make a noise, so she was just a black lump on the dark night. In the morning she awoke instantly and looked over at Abel. "You're still here?" She asked and then looked around to see the group walking over to the cars. "Oh shit... I slept in.." She looked around for the ladder.

"I was here first!"
Abel said jokingly.
"What's going on?"

Brook stretched and smiled. "The group I am with is heading out for a mission. Are you apart of it?"

Abel shook his head.
"Never heard of it. What's this mission?"

"Hmm.. You'd have to talk with James. But I dont' know if you'd be able to come. But you're willing to try. Follow me, we're meeting up to head out." She said, and stood up offering her hand to him to help him stand up.

Abel flashed a smile and grabbed her hand, standing up.
Wait... Did she say James?
Hopefully this goes well.
"Lead the way."

She walked over to the ladder and slid down it, hopping off at the third step and waiting for Abel to come down. When he was down, she walked over to the cars and went up to James. "James, sir, this is Abel." She introduced them.

I blink myself from my doze. I was almost asleep too. With my other hand I rub my eye.

Well. I think it's time to go. Or at the very least check to see if it's time.

It sucks, havng to get out of bed and untangling myself from Jennifer. But I need to do it, right?
I walk over to the chair and sit down. I start putting my boots on. Once done I stand up and put on my coat.
Then a thought comes across my mind. What if she's attacked? Or just needs to defend herself?
So, with that thought in my head, I walk back over to the bed and look down at her. I take out my pistol and lay it next to her.

I leave the room after grabbing my axe or hachet or whatever. When I see that neither James, Hibiki or Andrew are there I think.
Maybe they already left? Or I'm just early? only one way to find out. The Warehouse.
So that's where I start heading. Running there actually. Just incase I'm late. I wish I had a time when we're leaving.

"Slept in probably..." she said, sighing. "Miranda and Andrew have the pickup. You, me, Sam, and Eve here...we'll need another car for -"
Hibiki sighed as Brook arrived with Abel. "For that. I suggest the armored Jeep."

Eve laughed. "Cleaned out probably."

Miranda took shotgun next to Andrew, rifle resting on her shoulder.

Abel rubbed the back of his neck when they reached James' and the other's position. He cracked a nervous smirk at the side of his mouth.
"Hey..."

=I once again have my silly grin=

Talk about riding shotgun.

=I chuckle a bit, trying to laugh off the nightmare=

I get to the warehouse and just in time too, from the looks of things. Everyone from yesterday is here, I think.

"I'm sorry, I kinda slept in. But I'm here now.'

=Looking from each of the new arrivals, I nodded at Brook and Tyler, stopping at the guy from two days ago, the one that barged into the car with us. I didn't know his name then, and now I did. Abel....=
"Abel, we barely have the room. We might be able to squeeze you in, but all we're really doing is heading to an Elite compound for supplies and maybe getting some help. It's not like we're storming a castle here."

"That's fine. I was actually more just wondering, what it was you guys were doing. Why are you going to this 'Elite' compound?"

(Jason)
"Grabbing supplies from a contact inside. Maybe even set up a stable alliance, and get them to devote soldiers to help fight the Shepherds."

Nobody seems to notice that I'm late. Good, good.

I stand there, waiting for when we get this show on the road. Almost literally. <.<

Soldiers? Sheperds?

"Fighting the Sheperds eh? Sounds like you're planning on starting a war."

(James)
"War was already started really. We just finally decided to join it. So Abel, are you interested in joining this little road trip? Because if all goes as planned, it's just going to be quiet."

Abel pondered it for a second.
"If you'll have me on it. No promises on joining a war though."
He wore a small smile.

"Nothing ever goes as planned."

I mumbled to myself.

Brook smiled and looked at Abel. She was.. actually glad he was tagging along but would not admit it. Her smile faded and she turned back to James.

(James)
=I barely heard what Tyler had mumbled. Despite the positive attitude I was trying to put on, his words did make me nervous. Nothing ever did go as planned these days, but that shouldn't stop us from trying=
"Abel, what you do after this is your choice. Hell, I was surprised that this many people wanted to join in the first place. Just get in the truck, and saddle up."

=With that said, everyone got in the vehicles. Hibiki, Eve Sam and I (and Eve's cat) got in the charger. Andrew and Miranda took the pickup truck, and against my better judgement, I gave the keys for the jeep keys to Abel=

=I look to Abel=

I better see my jeep intact when we come back.

=I grimace=

Otherwise I'm going to be shoving a monkey wrench up your ass!

"I can drive, if needed be."

Wait. That didn't much sense.

"Nevermind."

I started walking to the Jeep since the other two cars seem full enough already.

Abel nodded his head to James, and excepted the keys. He then said with a smile.
"I'll try not to break it."
Abel hoped that Andrew was kidding.
I'm surprised he trusts you enough with driving one of the vehicles.
Abel climbed into the driver's seat of the Jeep, and waited for everyone else to start their engines.
