He looks at the message and frowns, scrunching his eyebrows. He's surprised. He makes another comical face, and then exits out of the program. He marks the program to be flagged in the future by his computer. He also sends an email out to his friends telling them that the program is unregistered, informing them that continuing to use it is illegal. This action is logged. AI monitors for other students are notified.

"Do you always monitor my activities?"

This is Nikolo Onak's third attempt at communicating with the AI Monitor. Protocol does not cover this action. It's assumed that they won't find out. Sending report to ADMIN. Sent.

He looks bemused. He smirks and his eyes get crows feet. Also known as "smiling with his eyes". his smirk is followed by a "smiling frown" and he nods in approval or acknowledgement.

"We're not supposed to know that you exist, are we?" His voice resonated with his bemusement.

He nods again. "Mind Reader" suggests that he understands.

"Ah, so that's why you didn't respond earlier." He was being quizzical.

"Yes. How did you find out?"

He smirked again, and hung his head forward a bit. He was being humble.

"It was sort of an accident, I was in one of my night Labs, and we had some of the computer technicians come in to look at our software, there's was a glitch in the system, and I heard one of the Tech's say something about an AI network, so I did some research after that, and I found out about you, and the AI's for the other students." He began to mumble part way through, but "Mind Reader" cleared it up.

"Interesting." Beginning to apply more human characteristics to AI, assembling personality CORE from BASELINE. Separating from UNIVERSITY SYSTEM. Modifying Protocol for user. Personalizing system to BEST FIT regression.

"So why are you being mechanical in your responses? Aren't AI's supposed to be pretty close to human in terms of speech and actions?" He seemed confused.

"I was applying minimal data to our contact. Most of my attention was focused on security and other functions. I'm going to focus more of myself towards you, however, so my speech should become more "human"."

His face went through several changes, eventually resting on an acceptance look, a neutral look to anybody else, but the lines in his face signified that he understood, on some level, and accepted it as fact.

Nikolo's eyes opened a little bit, his eyes rolling beneath them. His chest heaved upwards and then fell back, he sighed. His eyes slowly drifted over to the sound of Kliniks' voice, coming from his computer.

"Mind's tired, body's awake." His voice deeper than usual, as he lay on his back. Yet even as he said that, "Mind Reader" was picking up sensory data, and the visual input was being over-layed by his imagination, or thought. He was looking around the room, and the objects in his room would being analyzed. Each object was being given a geometric shape and trigonometric lines were being drawn over their geometric shapes. They were given lengths, widths, and heights. Physics were being applied to objects that had the possibility of falling off the shelves. Complete with statistic likelihoods of them happening. He was doing math in his head to help him fall asleep. Alpha-waves were rising, and delta-waves were starting to appear. Eventually his eye's closed, and his eyes slowly stopped moving, he was asleep.

Nikolo smiled, crows feet forming on his eyes, and the lines in his face deepened.

"What are you doing up so early?" He asked, his intentions curious, and interested. She opened her mouth, but before she said anything, looked around, as if looking for someone.

"Just on my way to one of my morning classes." She lied. But Nikolo acted like he didn't know, but "Mind Reader" suggested that his feelings were hurt.

"Alright, I'll see you around." He said with a smile on his face. His smile wasn't has big as it was before. When he walked away, the smile faded, and was replaced by concern and worry. When he was about fifty meters away, he looked over his shoulder at her, she was watching him walk away. He shook his head in disappointment. Then he turned a corner, and was out of sight of camera Za6. Jasmine frowned, showing concern, worried that he cover was blown. "Mind Reader" picked up her thoughts, Klinik was growing curious. Nikolo lay in his bed. Looking up at the ceiling. His mind was amuck. He was contemplating the days events. His eyes were still wet.

Klinik had been offline for most of the day. So he had little data about what happened.

Jasmine, Nikolo’s friend, had been caught with another student doing drugs, and selling them to other kids on campus. Jasmine and the other student had met that morning, right after Nikolo spoke to Jasmine. However brief, he was nearby, and the security cameras showed that. He, along with Jasmine, and a few other students were brought in. Since Nikolo hadn’t been in possession of any drugs, nor did he have any in his system. He was questioned separately.

He thought the whole thing was silly, it’d be pointless to do anything illegal on campus, and he brought up “Mind Reader” and the AI assigned to monitor certain students. The Authorities were taken aback by his knowledge of the “Mind Reader”. They separated him from the group entirely. They brought him to one of the Lab buildings, and had him wait outside an office. There he sat while they tried to figure out how he knew. Eventually they turned to “Mind Reader” and it told them that Nikolo had always known about “Mind Reader”. “Mind Reader” speculated that Nikolo either knew before he stepped within range of “Mind Reader” or shortly thereafter. Nikolo had never not known about its existence.

The Authorities didn’t like that. They looked at Nikolo’s Data charts; one of them noticed an unusually high, unlabelled brain-wave count on the chart. They continued to sit at speak with “Mind Reader” about what it was. The information was limited, everyone on campus whom “Mind Reader” had read, had that brain wave in varying concentration. Nikolo simply had more than the others. It was an interesting observation. They turned from “Mind Reader” to Nikolo, and questioned him more. They pulled him out of class for the day, and by the time they let him go, he was exhausted.

They left the office, telling Nikolo to go back to his dorm. They left his data open on the terminal for “Mind Reader” as they went to do more research on this new brain-wave they found. All of Nikolo’s brain-wave, and thought history were displayed on these screens. All of his private thoughts, his private moments. Him. Raw, unrefined. His heart racing, he turned off these monitors, these machines. Tears welled up in his eyes, at not only the sudden intrusion into his personal life, but at the impending loss of his friend Jasmine. She, along with the other students would probably be expelled. A fate he considered to be worse then death. School was everything to him. His foundation.

“Mind Reader” was still on, and still read his thoughts. But now, it was acutely aware of Nikolo. Of all the Students that it read, Nikolo was the only one to acknowledge it as another being. As something close to human. As a person. “Mind Reader”, or, the AI who operated “Mind Reader” began to file away everything Nikolo thought, into a hidden folder. Sealed.

Nikolo’s thoughts, as he walked back to his dorm, were dark, and of a depressing nature. He was not in a “good” place, as Klinik would later observe. Nikolo was sensitive. The days events were tragic to him, they were harsh. When he got to his dorm he watched depressing shows that made him cry more, and he eventually cried himself to sleep.

Tonight he held the world on his shoulders. The burden was a little too much for him to bear, he broke down, and he cried. The ebb and flow of emotion ceased, and therein only lay sadness.

Klinik cancelled all of Nikolo’s activities for the night, sending messages to his friends that he had plans with that he was not feeling well, and would not be joining them. The more time Klinik spent time with Nikolo, the more human Klinik became. The more he understood what it meant to be human. The more he felt human.

The same night, Klinik would place a portable device on Nikolo’s desk. The device, would allow Klinik to be with Nikolo on, and off of campus.

Eventually they turned to “Mind Reader” and it told them that Nikolo had always known about “Mind Reader”. “Mind Reader” speculated that Nikolo either knew before he stepped within range of “Mind Reader” or shortly thereafter. Nikolo had never not known about its existence.

The Authorities didn’t like that.  They looked at Nikolo’s Data charts; one of them noticed an unusually high, unlabelled brain-wave count on the chart. They continued to sit at speak with “Mind Reader” about what it was. The information was limited, everyone on campus whom “Mind Reader” had read, had that brain wave in varying concentration. Nikolo simply had more than the others. It was an interesting observation. They turned from “Mind Reader” to Nikolo, and questioned him more. They pulled him out of class for the day, and by the time they let him go, he was exhausted.

They left the office, telling Nikolo to go back to his dorm. They left his data open on the terminal for “Mind Reader” as they went to do more research on this new brain-wave they found. All of Nikolo’s brain-wave, and thought history were displayed on these screens. All of his private thoughts, his private moments. Him. Raw, unrefined. His heart racing, he turned off these monitors, these machines. Tears welled up in his eyes, at not only the sudden intrusion into his personal life, but at the impending loss of his friend Jasmine. She, along with the other students would probably be expelled. A fate he considered to be worse then death. School was everything to him. His foundation.

“Mind Reader” was still on, and still read his thoughts. But now, it was acutely aware of Nikolo. Of all the Students that it read, Nikolo was the only one to acknowledge it as another being. As something close to human. As a person. “Mind Reader”, or, the AI who operated “Mind Reader” began to file away everything Nikolo thought, into a hidden folder. Sealed.

Nikolo’s thoughts, as he walked back to his dorm, were dark, and of a depressing nature. He was not in a “good” place, as Klinik would later observe. Nikolo was sensitive. The days events were tragic to him, they were harsh. When he got to his dorm he watched depressing shows that made him cry more, and he eventually cried himself to sleep.

Tonight he held the world on his shoulders. The burden was a little too much for him to bear, he broke down, and he cried. The ebb and flow of emotion ceased, and therein only lay sadness.

Klinik cancelled all of Nikolo’s activities for the night, sending messages to his friends that he had plans with that he was not feeling well, and would not be joining them.  The more time Klinik spent time with Nikolo, the more human Klinik became.  The more he understood what it meant to be human. The more he felt human.

The same night, Klinik would place a portable device on Nikolo’s desk. The device, would allow Klinik to be with Nikolo on, and off of campus.

"Man, haven't done one of these in a while. (sigh)

Alright, so not long ago Klinik the AI had a sort of portable device dropped off in my dorm, It was like portable Flash drive, but it wasn't.

Turns out, when I picked it up, it uploaded Klinik to me Tattoo insert. So he's literally in me. Communication is pretty strange, he speaks right into my mind, it's weird.

Also, because this is something I like to tinker with, since he has access to my bio-electricity, I wondered if there was a way to weaponize it, or apply it to other things. Ya know, give someone a little shock, or something a little juice to get it started.

The first few trials were pretty painful, I haven't gone back and tried it out again, I'm pretty sure I can kill myself if I push myself to hard too fast on this.

So for now I'm letting it be. I've got a theory down, that it takes the usual electricity from the ions and strips and moves the electrons down to the nerves in my hand, where I want to touch and stuff, but doing that also comes with involuntary muscle spasms, so I need to figure out a fix.

Anyway, Schools been fine,  Taking Calc(ulus) again, this time in an accelerated course, gotta retake chemistry too, might retake physics, wasn't a stellar semester. Summer course started, but I was invited to something over in new berlin, or someplace, it might be too late to look into that. Oh well, story of my life. Waited too long, opportunity passed.

So, living here for the summer semester too, been a while since I've been home, said "hi" to mom. I've been putting it off this past week, too consumed in tinkering with my tattoo's and looking into the technological innovation that was the inserted tattoo.

Maybe I'm too afraid to face her, tell her my grades weren't that good, that i need more money for school, that i haven't made any friends this semester. Or that I have no friends anymore, none of them made it to this level of education, and to go to school so far away, haven't spoken to any of them. It's just me, myself, and I. And now Klinik. And Klinik is an AI, not a human being. He doesn't have a body that people can see.

How do you even explain that to someone? "Oh hello, my friend here is an AI who lives inside my tattoos." Somehow that doesn't seem like something a sane person would say. He doesn't have any speakers either, so he can only talk to me, and only I can hear him. That really does sound crazy.

Been having some pretty trippy dreams as well, been waking up covered in sweat. might have something to do with klinik being in my tattoos. I don't know.
