ZRP-2 Chapter 6: Scattered

Glancing at Sam, Hibiki smiled.
"I bet you got to do this a lot while you were traveling, right Sam?" She asked kindly, but a note of maternal protection was hidden in her voice.

Eve slept.

(Sam)
"Actually, not as often as you'd think. Half the time I spent with her was tending to her wound. I didn't want to risk causing pain to her."

(James)
=Laying the boxes down on the floor and slipping them under the seats, I sat next to Hibiki, gently rubbing Eve's head=

Hibiki's smile faltered.
"When me and James have to go...would you like to take my spot here?" She smiled kindly. "I'm sure she'd like that."

Hibiki leaned over to kiss James' cheek. "Because I'm sure Marcus will need us."

(Sam)
"Sure thing. Speaking of..."
=Marcus climbed up into the bus=

*Marcus*
"James, Hibiki. We should probably talk."

(James)
"Yeah, we should."

Hibiki motioned Sam over.
"Come on. I'll slide over, and you can take over. I'll assume you know what to do after that."
Smiling, Hibiki got ready to slide Eve's head onto Sam's lap.

(Sam)
=I sat down and let Hibiki slide Eve's head onto my lap=

(James)
=Marcus led us out, standing outside the door to the bus=
"So, what's the word? Do we have a destination?"

*Marcus*
"Sort of. There's another lockdown town I know of, and the lady that runs the place is an old friend of mine. It's probably another days drive east."

Eve snuggled closer after the move, an instinctive movement mostly.

Hibiki nodded. "What's her name, and where are we going?"

*Marcus*
"Her name's Rachel, and the town's called Rockport. The town is agains the river, so you won't have much issue getting there."

(James)
"Well, that's good. But how are you getting there? If its a day away.....odds are there's going to be a lot between you and the town."

*Marcus*
"We'll cross that bridge when we get to it."

Hibiki frowned. "Shouldn't be too hard...if they stick to the riverside, we can stay in contact and all. Plus, if we take some people on the boat, we won't have to worry about overcrowding the cars anymore."

Eve shifted a bit, then settled down.

*Marcus*
"Except there are no roads that go along the river. I've checked the road maps, they didn't show me anything."

(James)
"We should still take some people with us. But there's only one room left on the boat...."

*Marcus*
"You can still take Sam and Eve. She's healed enough that she doesn't need to remain on. The bus, and odds are she'll be safer with you on the boat."

Hibiki nods. "I kinda was hoping to do that..." She admitted.

Eve blinked, groaning. "Sam...?"

(Sam)
"Hey Eve. Feeling okay?"

(James)
"By the way....how's Book?"

*Marcus*
"He's still out, hasn't woken up. But I can pass it along that you asked."

Eve nodded, then reached up to poke Sam's cheek.
"Where did mommy go?"

(Sam)
"She's talking with your dad and Marcus."

(James)
"Good, I still want to talk to him."
=It looked like the last of the food for the caravan was loaded up=

"So, we sticking around for the night? Or moving now?"

*Marcus*
"Hmm, I don't know."

Eve sighed softly, then smiled.
"Your lap is comfortable..."

Hibiki nodded. "We'll play it by ear then?"

*Marcus*
"We've barely had time to rest, or check for gas. Now we have that time, so we stay here for now, maybe an hour. Excuse me."
=He got up, and walked to the bulk of his people=

"Alright listen up! We're sticking around for an hour, maybe more. I want teams checking the town cars for any gas, starting with the vehicles the bandits took to get here. We'll also check for food, supplies, anything we can use."

(Sam)
"And none of it is fat either. It's all muscle."

Eve giggled. "I'd like to feel some muscled arms hold me close." She teased.

Eve was obviously happier, now that her mom was around.



Hibiki turned to James. "You want to tell Sam we need them on the boat?"

(James)
"Lets wait until we actually leave. Besides....I think she and Eve want this moment."

(Sam)
"It would be a better place to start as opposed to my lap."

"I like your lap. Least you can see my hands!" She giggles.

Hibiki nodded. "I...I'll agree."

(James)
"So....shall we check for gas, or should I try fishing again?"

(Sam)
"One can hope my leg is not all you like."

"We need gas." Hibiki said.

Eve giggled. "I love every bit of you...because without every bit, you're not Sam. You're...partSam."

(Sam)
"Wow.....that was kinda crappy."
=But just so she wouldn't be too hurt, I smiled at her=

(James)
"Yeah but....but the fishies."

Eve blushed. "I'm bad at this still Sam...I'm trying to convey what I mean....I suck at this...should I just stick with I love you?"

Hibiki gave James The Look.

(James)
=The look didn't really scare me.....but I figured it would be better to play it safe and do what she said=
"Fine...."

(Sam)
"That's always the best safety line."

"Then I love you." Eve stuck her tongue out at Sam.

Hibiki grinned. "Let's go."

(James)
=I followed her into the town, while several other people from the caravan also walked into the town with us. Some checked the cars for gas, others entered buildings to look for food=

(Sam)
"Right back at ya Eve."

Eve's smile brightened, and her eyes shone a bit more. But she said nothing, merely relaxing and pulling Sam's hand onto her hair...obviously wordlessly asking for petting.

Hibiki moved up the street, checking the bigger cars first before moving to the smaller ones.
"Anything, James?"

(James)
=I checked the stick I had stuck inside the tank=
"We've got some gas, maybe half a tank?"

(Sam)
=I grinned softly as I began petting her=

Eve mewled a bit, relaxing. Her eyes shown up at Sam, and she rested her hands on her own stomach, just enjoying the petting.
"That feels nice..." she said quietly.

Hibiki jogged over as someone else dragged a gas tank over. "Let's siphon it then."

(James)
"Aww man, I hate siphoning...."
=As the guy dragged a can over, I took the hose he offered and stuck it down the tank, and then with the other end I placed my lips around it and began to suck (don't say it). A few seconds later I tasted that foul, gasoline shit, and spit it out the moment I tasted it, sticking the hose into the tanks outside=


(Sam)
"You owe me one."

Eve nodded. "I owe you more then you know."

Hibiki held her tongue.

(James)
"Eh, foul as it is.....I'll still do it. Beats risking you accidentally swallowing some and dosing the baby with it."

(Sam)
"Eh, I don't know. There was that time you saved my ass from the walker earlier. Then the time before that."

Hibiki giggled. "I guess so."

Eve giggled. "Only I'm allowed to bite you...well...will be the only one..." she blushed a bit. "...right?"

(James)
=I shuddered a little, just imagining the amount of times I'd have to do this=
"Well, lets move to the next one."

(Sam)
"You're going to bite me?"

"Love bites. You know." She grinned. "I'd rather kiss...but...I should shut up."

Hibiki sighed. "Yep..." She scanned the area. "Check that pickup over there."

(Sam)
"Whoa we've moved pretty fast here. Haven't even had.....well, sex yet, and already you're moving to love bites?"

(James)
"You're enjoying this, aren't you?"

"I said future tense...Sam...I'm teasing you right now..." She sighed. "I...hey. I have to fight to get a kiss right now. Like I'm really going to try and get the ability to love bite you when I'm currently trying to at least cuddle with you? It's pretty low on my priority list silly."

Hibiki laughed. "Yes. Oh yes."

*Cooper*
"Okay what's the word Andrew? Find anything yet or have you just been standing around doing nothing?"

(James)
"You are a cruel woman...."
=And then we moved on t the next car. I was going to start pissing gasoline soon=

(Sam)
"Sorry. Just....still a bit serious from the bandit thing."

(Andrew)

=I shake my head=

False alarm. We're moving in now.

=I motion for the group to head towards the town=

I'll tell you when we get there.

I move forward as he instructed but with as much caution as I could use. My knife is still ready for when we're attacked.
And we will be attacked.

Eve sighed.
"It's ok Sam...you...you got a lot to deal with...being serious is fine...just...p...please don't be serious all the time?"
She coughed a bit. "Saliva..." she explained.

Hibiki smirked. "Only to you honey."

(Sam)
"I swear, if you die because, of all things, you choked on your own saliva, I'll kill you."

(James)
"Well think of the lack of kisses as punishment."

"I'll kiss Eve then. I haven't gotten to kiss her forehead or cheek or do our nuzzle thing for how long now?"
Hibiki stretched.

Eve giggled softly.
"I won't Sam...I'm bad at trying to kill myself."

(James)
"Nice to know I get left out of things.... *spits* okay, that's another one. Can we stop now and check the buildings? I'm starting to get a little sick here."

(Sam)
"Good to know."

(Andrew)

=My group makes it to the town a few minutes later, and I radio Cooper=

Alright Cooper, we've made it to the town.

=I look around=

We'll do a brief sweep, see if anything's off.

Hibiki nodded. "Good idea. You're better at shooting then sucking....I think I should be happy about that..."

Eve giggled. "But I'm bad at being mushy I guess."

(Sam)
=I shrugged my shoulders=
"You can always get better. But then again, I guess being mushy isn't something you can practice."

(James)
"Thank you, so much."
=I spit a few times, getting the taste of gas out of my mouth. It wasn't exactly succesuful=

"Least you know I'll never look at anyone else the same as you." Eve grinned.

Hibiki giggled. "Love ya."

(Sam)
"Yeah, and I'm sure ill say the same for you."

(James)
"Lets just find some supplies. Maybe if we're lucky there's a tube of toothpaste."

Eve smiled softly. "Thanks."

Hibiki laughed pretty hard. "One can hope. One can hope."
