ZRP-2 Chapter 6: Scattered

(Sam)
=We stayed that way, sitting on the bed, her head in my lap, for a few more minutes. It didn't really seem like there was anything else to do=

(James)
=We walked into a drug store, and like the supermarket from before the shelves were stripped bare. There was hardly anything, except some gum packages, toy boxes...=
"Lets check the pharmacy. Maybe there's some stuff still inside."

Eve closed her eyes, enjoying it. The first time in awhile they had time to just be intimate in any sort of way, really.
Besides Sam's view of her breasts during the first aid...

Eve didn't speak...she just wanted to feel the moment.


Hibiki kicked some boxes on the floor. "Wish we had time to look for stuff at Metropolis..."

(James)
"Odds are the most we would have found would be superman comics...."
=There was a noise from the end of the store, a grunt of effort, and a walker, minus its head, fell down the floor at the end of the aisle. One of the caravan members walked into my field of vision, carrying a fire axe=

"Nice swing."
=They just nodded=

(Sam)
"So....how long do you plan on keeping me prisoner?"

Eve looked up at Sam.
"I don't need to keep you prisoner physically...you've promised enough that I don't have to worry about you leaving and not coming back." She giggled. "But...I don't want to get up...we haven't gotten a chance to just do this...just sit quietly, in some semi-intimate position that doesn't make you uncomfortable...for awhile..." She sniffed. "Just...one more minute. Pet me...for one more minute...that's all I ask."

Hibiki nodded approvingly. "Not bad." She looked at James. "Well. Yeah, not a good idea. You might think I'm Lois Lane and not Xena, Warrior Princess."

(James)
"Heh, trust me, no risk of that happening."
=I went back to walking towards the pharmacy. The gate had at one time been slammed down over the counter, but it had since been beaten, cut, and even bent in certain places. But either the metal father cage was stronger than anticipated, or the store had at one time been filled with walkers offering no time or space for the would be raiders to get the cage open. The bloodstains seemed a sure sign of that=

(Sam)
"Sure, okay."
=And then I went back t rubbing her head=

Eve closed her eyes, and enjoyed it.

And, when a minute was up, she carefully sat up. "Thanks."
She leaned over to kiss Sam's cheek. "I'll be right here...unless I'm told to move by someone. Ok?"

Hibiki chuckled, then blinked.
"So. Let's see if the pharmacy has something."

(James)
"First we need to get in..... We're going to need bolt cutters."
=I cast a glance at Hibiki's sword=

"Unless that could work.....but I doubt a katana actually works against chain fences."

(Sam)
=I gave her a kiss as well, on her forehead. Then I stood up, walking for the door out of the bus=
"Stay here."

"Yes ma'am." Eve said happily.

Hibiki shook her head. "Nope."

(James)
"Great....."
=There were footsteps behind me, and I turned to see one of the caravan members walking towards us, a pair of wire cutters in hand=

"Well aren't you convenient?"

*C.Member*
=They grinned at James, handing him the pair of cutters=
"If you happen to find any medication for asthma, let me know. My last batch is getting ready to run out."

(James)
=I found Yosef grinning at the man myself, happily taking the cutters from him and then snipping at the fence. It was difficult, took a lot of effort but eventually I managed to to cut through. It was easier when I went for the spots others had tried, the links worn and already cut into. A few minutes later, we were in=
"Hello medicinal gold mine...."

"Let's hope there's a lot. Might as well grab everything, yeah?" Hibiki said.

Eve laid down, but curled into a ball, sighing softly.

(James)
=Climbing over the counter and into the pharmacy, I took a look around at the shelves. Turns out the gold mine was just a little deceiving. Whoever worked here must have taken a few things, because some of the shelves were a little.....light. But I found a few boxes marked as "asthma medication" or at least on the list of what they were good for=
"Hey man, found some boxes. Not sure which one you need though, there's a lot."

=The guy walked in, and I le him pass as he checked on the boxes. He grabbed one, nodded thanks to me, and then put it, and a few more like it, into his bag. Then he started grabbing the rest and stuffing them in as well, an act I assisted in=
"Lets take what we can carry. Anything more, leave for the others to grab."

(Sam)
=I joined the search party, looking for anything t salvage. Ended up in a bar, found some decent booze, both for drinking and molotovs, should the need arise=

Hibiki started piling the painkillers in; Motrin, Tylenol, Aleve, everything. She needed it all.

Moving towards the back, she frowned. "I found birth control pills...think we should take them with us?"

(James)
"Really? I don't think those are going to do any good for us now."
=I found some antibiotics, and started cramming them into my bag=

"I was talking about the rest of the caravan. It's going to happen. Might as well make sure people play it safe. Unless you'd rather me find the reusable condoms aisle." She said.

(James)
"Da fuck's a reusable condom?"
=The asthma guy made a choking sound=

Hibiki stopped dead.

"A condom that can be reused?" She said slowly, as if she was speaking to a stupid child.

(James)
"Yeah, those exist?"

"Yep. Same with fuzzy pink handcuffs." Hibiki informed him.

=The man with asthma started laughing, walking out of the room leaving the two to their conversation=

(James)
"For a....well, virgin before me, I find it strange how you know this stuff. At least about reusable condoms."

"I was a virgin. My sister lost her virginity in my bed, of all places. Gave her hell for a year for it." Hibiki growled. "Don't get me started on hearing her speak or the times she used those handcuffs on me to keep me from wringing her neck."

(James)
"Sounds like your sister was the...."
=I stopped, thinking carefully about my next few words. It was her sister after all=

"Wild child of the family."

"Yeah. She was. I think she was into incest anime too, ever since the handcuff thing. Kept trying to get those on me."
Hibiki smiled anyways. "I loved her. We honestly got along better then most...but I fell out of contact. She went corporate and I went police. Now...I don't know if she's alive or dead. Or undead."
Hibiki rubbed her temples. "She'll probably be alive. Akko always seemed to escape trouble. Like she was smoke."

(James)
"Heh, maybe that's what made her good at the corporate thing. Good at evading trouble."
=I zipped up my backpack=

"Bag's full, lets head back."

Hibiki nodded. "I hope she's alive..."
Rolling her shoulders, Hibiki hefted everything she had and trooped after James.

"So, what all are we taking on the boat with us? And why do I feel like Marcus either is related to or has slept with every single female compound leader in the Midwest?"

(James)
"Well, he knew Clarissa because he used to be one of the guards in the Elite compound. I have no idea how he knows Rachel, but maybe they used to travel together or something? Hell, maybe she's like him and simply traveled farther."
=I shrugged with the bag over my shoulder=

"As for the medicine, we take some for us on the boat. We leave the bulk of it with the caravan."

"Alrighty." Hibiki said.

=The Pariah and his convoy had been driving for most of the day, now far away from the city. But with no real trail to follow, the only lead they had was the train tracks, knowing full well that they were the only route the train itself, and the people aboard it, could take. It was not exactly easy, since they could not drive on the tracks=

=As for the small team of survivors in the city who escaped, they knew where to go, or at least where to start. They knew Cooper would plan to go east, as would Marcus. It was the agreed upon fall back plan. So east was where they went=

(James)
"Maybe if we're lucky, we'll catch a few more fish while we're here before it gets dark. Have a cookout."

"Sounds good. Maybe Sam will fish with you, leaving me and Eve to sleep in peace?" Hibiki stretched again. She was feeling stiff. Must be the shitton of stuff she was lugging right now.

(James)
"Aww.....was hoping to go fishing with Eve. Or at least have some time with her."

"I tried fishing. She prefered hunting." Hibiki shrugged. "Wouldn't mind time with Sam. No, I won't threaten her or anything...ok, not too much."

(James)
"Hey, feel free to try. But something tells me she's not the same Sam we saw. She's had time to change."
=We got back to the bus, already a small line of people outside it, carrying goods they found=

"I don't have to threaten her..."
Hibiki jogged to keep up. "Not anymore."

(James)
"I know. Just saying."
=When it was our turn, I opened my bag and took out the medicine. They eagerly grabbed the boxes and took it back aboard the bus=

Hibiki did the same, then relished the weghtlessness she felt.
"Alright. Let's grab the girls and get the boat ready?"

(James)
"Ready for what? I thought we were staying here for the night. Or the next few hours anyway."

"I thought, after the Bandits attacked, we'd relocate before napping." Hibiki said.

(James)
"I think that was the last of them. Plus that's really the best place for us to park the boat, without having to bring it in close to the ground."

"Alright. I guess we can move Eve to the boat then, along with Sam?" Hibiki continued.

(James)
"Yeah.."

(Sam)
=I was standing in line, waiting to drop off what I had when I heard Hibiki say something about moving me and Eve to the boat=
"Whoa wait what? You're moving me to the boat?"

Hibiki stopped
"Yeah. You and Eve are joining us on the boat as we go towards the Lockdown Town."

(Sam)
"And do I get a say in this? Don't get me wrong, I'd like to join you but....I already have a car. And I like it."

(James)
"Do you like Eve more?"

(Sam)
"Do you have to ask? Look I like Vera, but if it comes down to it I'm picking Eve."

(James)
"You....you named your car?"

(Sam)
"Yup."

Hibiki blinked, then threw up her hands.
"I'm making you choose, because I'm not living without my daughter close by. Sorry."

She walked off..

(Sam)
"Did I say I wasn't coming? I was griping over the lack of being informed, and that I'm going to leave my car."

(James)
"I thought you said you'd leave the car in a heartbeat?"

(Sam)
"Doesn't mean it wouldn't hurt me James."

Hibiki stepped onto the bus. Finding Eve curled into a ball, Hibiki smiled, gathering Eve's things before picking the girl up and heading out of the bus, then started walking for the yacht.

(James)
=I blinked at Hibiki=
"You...you need any help with that?"

Hibiki shifted Eve. "Yeah. Grab her things."

(James)
=Nodding, I grabbed her stuff=

(Sam)
"Look, I'll ask if anyone wants my car, at least to borrow anyway. I'll meet you on the boat."
=With that, I left them and started asking around to see if anyone would take the car=

(Andrew)

=The group makes its way into the town, and the only sounds so far were the wind between the buildings. It was unsettling=

It's quiet...way too quiet

=I walk towards the center of town with the group, not knowing that we were being watched=

"Where are all the walkers?" I asked out loud. By now I had a knife in one hand and my pistol in the other. It looked like something out of Call of Duty, the way I was holding them.
Man, you won't believe how much I missed video games. They were a big part of my life before... they kinda came to life.
And let me tell ya, this is not nearly as much fun as I thought it would be.

Jenn broke from Mira, spotting Tyler. She jogged up beside him, bumping his shoulder playfully.
"Hey." She said quietly.
Mira manaved to find Andrew and Sarah. Thankfully.

Hibiki stepped onto the boat, then heads for a cabin just beyond their own. "Walls aren't that thick. Think two doors away will suffice, James?"
