Zombie Story: Threads of a Tire

=I get out of the bathroom after washing up=

Nevah was much for the ocean...

=I sigh and head topside=
=I can see what looks like a harbor in the distance=

=I go back to my room to gather my things=

=as he's following the person on the ground he sees a ship in the distance=

=Xazhi goes back up above deck. He waves to Adam again. Adam comes down from the bridge. They stand there, staring out over the ocean=

=I sheath the two blades that I have=
=Equipping them=
=I take the Baretta I had been given and about four cartridges=

=I sigh=

Betta not run out...

=The boat docks and I hop out=
=I begin looking around=

Hmm...

I pass a fabric store on my way back. I duck in quickly to check and see if there is anything left. Turns out there is plenty.

"I guess when zombies show up, you don't really need to make a quilt now do you?"

I grab a roll of fabric and keep making my way. After a while I slow down. I arrive back in the slums.

=I snap awake=
=My dream quickly switching to the day my family was killed=

=I look around, still shaken=
=I shake my head and grab my smokes. Lighting one=

=I begin walking off the dock=
=Greeted by a small group of five=
=I take one of the blades and stab one in the neck=
=I swing the Zed into another=
=I laugh=

=Xazhi and Adam look to Rich=

Xaz- You okay, man?

=I take a short drag=

Yeah, jus' a bad dream...

=I let the smoke out slowly=

=I take out my other blade. Slicing a Zed that had approached=
=I jab the blades into another. Lifting it and throwing it into the water=
=I drop the blades and take out the Baretta=
=I fire one shot into the last of the zeds=
=I smile=

=is looking at the docks and sees someone killing several zeds and sees one start sneaking up on the person so he fires a shot blwing it's head off=

=Xazhi streches and waves at the sun coming over the horizon=

Xaz- Ahoi, Morning God!

=I pick up my weapons and begin searching the corpses=
=Not paying attention to the one that had fallen=
=I managed to take a small amount of money from the corpses=
=Once finished I head off=

=As the sun's rays hit me I start to calm down=

Anothah day survived!

=Xazhi chuckles=

Xaz- I should see how close we are to land.

=Xazhi takes out a soda bottle smoke bomb he made. He lights it, and tosses it out in front of the ship. It explodes, making a loud bang, and makes a huge cloud of black smoke=

Xaz- If anyone is close, they will see it, and respond.. .Somehow...

Adam- You know, i could have just told you how close we are. I've been driving this thing.

=They both chuckle=

I go to the gun owner and drop of the roll of fabric. She grudgingly gives my the rifle as well as a few rounds for it.

"Thank you, so much."

'Yeah, yeah...'

I take my new rifle, an FN2000 with Red Dot Scope and grenade launcher and head back out to the ruins, looking for new loot and possibly a few Zeds to blast. I don't have any grenades for the launcher, but I can ask around and see if anyone has any mods I can use. I start walking around, deciding to go check out the nearby harbor for any possible loot. I pass a few people returning as well as leaving.

=I begin to look around=

Wasted a perfectly good smoke bomb there!

=I laugh=

=sees smoke and starts heading to it staying on the roofs out of sight=

=Xazhi chuckes, Adam heads back up to the bridge=

Xaz- Yea, i guess so... I dont see any smoke out there... Maybe nobody saw it? I dont see anything out there.

I see a woman walking around. She doesn't look like a zombie, or a bandit, but I'm not sure. I call out.

"Friendly?!"

I keep my weapon lowered, but ready.

=I hear a person and turn to face him=

Xaz- Well, if we're luckey, maye a shipfull of Zombies will see it on the horizon and come to sweep us off to safety.

=I sit up. Taking a drag and blowing the smoke. I flick the cig into the ocean=

Man. Should really stop smokin.

Xaz- And i need to start drinking.

I shake my head.

"I'm not a Raider. Where are you from?"

I just busted out of a Raider camp after bein trapped there for about a year.

Xaz- I too hate the taste of alchohol, except for Wine. But i could do without the thought of these Walking fleshrot man-eaters that smell like an infected anus.

=He chuckles=

Xaz- Im going to head into the Cargo hold, and see whats in those crates. Wanna come?

Nah, I wanna stay out here and play with the Zeds

=I smile and walk up to him=

Let the rays calm me.

I shake my head again.

"No, sorry. Friend of yours?"

I start walking towards the slums, keeping an eye open for any Zeds.

Alright. I should be back soon.

=Xazhi heads below deck, and into the Cargo Hold at the front of the ship. He grabs a crowbar, and prys open a crate. Just food. He goes to the next, the second of four. Water. He goes to the third, and gains a large smile. He loads three bags with its contents. He proceeds to the last crate, and prys it open. His grin increases in size. He grabs three of the things inside, and heads back up to the deck=

=My heart sinks=

Oh...

=I start to tear up=

I hope nothing bad has happened....

=I wipe away some stray tears and shake my head=

I turn around.

"C'mon. Don't fall behind. It's easy to get lost here."

I wait for her to follow.

=He goes over to Rich, and holds out one of the three M1 Garands he found, and one of the sacks of ammo=

Xaz- Looks what i found.

=He smiles=

Looks like whoever owned this boat before us was preparing. There was food and water down there too.

=I begin following the man=

Xaz- Yea, there's a whole crate load of em, plus a ton of ammo, food, and water down there. Ive got about all the supplies i can carry.

=is following the pair with his scope and sees a zed pop out right beside them and snipes it on the head dropping it=

=I smile, laying it beside me=

=Adam sounds the ship's foghorn. Xazhi puts his hands over his ears in an attempt to block the deafening noise. He waves back up the the bridge at the back of the ship=

Xaz- Hey! What the fuck!?

Tryin to alert the Zeds?!

=Adam comes rushing down from the bridge and onto the deck=

Adam- Land! Look close, you can see the Zombies on the cliffs.

Xaz- What the fuck!!! Are you trying to get them to-

=Adam cuts him off and points to the cliffs=

Adam- Look!

=The zombies, alerted by the horn, begin rushing towards the ship, over the cliffs, and to their sharp rockey deaths. Xazhi bursts out laughing=

I am startled by the Zed and the shot that kills it. I look in the direction the shot came from and nod my head.

"Looks like I got a guardian angel nowadays. Huh. So, miss, who are you and why did you come here?"

=I shake my head=

Truly aint the brightest creatures

=I laugh=

=I nod to him=

Well. My name is Ellie Frost. I came here to find my brother and to find someplace safe.

"Garth Hood. My friends call me either G or G Hood. Sometimes even Jihad, although I don't reallly like that one. I also came here looking for a safe place. Apparently everyone else had the same idea."


I hear a foghorn. I look around, wary.

=Xazhi and Adam go to the front of the ship, and begin firing at the remaining Zombies, ripping them to shreds=

=I look behind me as the foghorn blows=

=I grab the Garand and begin helping=

I shake my head.

"Hope for the best prepare for the worst. Cmon."

I hurry along.

"A good chunk of the Zeds in the area will have heard that and will head towards it. If there are any in front of us they will head our way. We need to keep moving"
