Halo 4 RP Part 1

I yawned, walking down one of the ships' corridors to my quarters. Being a Spartan had privileges, being a Spartan Officer had even more.

We were en route to some discovery a bunch of scientists had made, so my Teams were on high alert.
High alert for us was normal.

But it was more likely that Marines or just one of my teams would be deployed, so I hadn't much hope for action.

It's going to be a milk-run, send Sovereign. Alexis deserves it.

I sat flipping through some of the records I'd been given permission to read through. My aunties records, to be precise. I wondered why permission, well had been given to me. Maybe it was something to do with being a Spartan.

Or something to do with me rejecting promotions.

I didn't know.

Didn't really care, either, yet it intrigued me.

I activate my earpiece/microphone with a Link to Argo and Sovereign.

"Hey, Hunter, get your team suited up. Guess who got the milk run? 'Should teach you not to make passes at your CO. Feel free to mock her everyone."

I was probably the most casual officer on this ship, but as long as my unit got results, no one cared.

=I sat down in the hangar, Naval personnel keeping their distance=

Well, comes with being a Spartan, that...or its the amount of high explosives I keep around me

=I smile, continuing to work on making my famous 'Bell Ringer' IEDs, despite the noted objections of the quartermaster, hearing the commander=

Can't a man get some peace and quiet on this boat...I guess not...

=I sigh and continue my work=

Alexis was asleep in Mia's room, the two having had a tryst the night before. So, the earpiece blaring at full volume shot both women onto the floor into a heap. Grabbing for the earpiece, she rubbed the sleep from her eyes.
Fuck you Lyra.
"Sure, I'll gladly keep quiet about that My Little Pony stuffed animal you sleep with. What was her name? Lyra? You're namesake right?" Alexis yawned. "Getting suited up now ma'am."
She stuck the commpiece in her ear and got dressed, Mia just climbing into bed and falling asleep again.
With a sigh, Alexis jogged out and to her quarters for her armor.

"At least a rookie didn't kick my ass in War Games, Lieutenant."
I say in the most pleasant voice I can muster.

I walk into my quarters and pick up my data pad, flicking through some news headlines.

"Rank means nothing, ma'am. If I recall, Ensign Badgiruel kicked your ass at Capture the Flag last week."
With a smile, Alexis finished putting her armor on. Clutching the helmet under her arm, she tied her hair back and headed off to the hanger bay.

I was laying out on my bunk, cuddling with a empty whiskey bottle.

"Have you ever considered.... running away?"

The bottle doesn't respond.

"I'm a going to.. uhh.."

I Let the bottle roll onto the floor and pass out.

The records were pretty average. Operation passed, Mission Objective Secured, ect. I put the files down, and left my quaters. I still pondered on why I'd been given the records. This thinking would help 'fill' up the quiet time.

"You forget that I was trying to teach my team which way the battle rifle points for most of that match."

I can't help but smile, they were like a family to me, Warhorse.

=I finish up with the explosives, strapping them on my belt=

Never pays to be too cautious...

=I then look to see the squad commander start walking in, and I interject=

And you were trying to get out of cover from my gunfire, ma'am.

=I close off, a grin reaching my face=

I give a short chuckle.

"I heard you scream when that Rookie figured out how to aim that turret. So much for 'Big Mike'."

I come back to and get up stretching. After getting fully awake I notice a problem.

"Where did I put my clothes?"

I shrug and put on a bathrobe and some slippers and step out my room. Nothing heals a hangover like coffee and a walk!

I pause, Or was it Vodka?

I shrug again and set off to the mess hall for some Coffee and/or Vodka.

=I grimace=

True, only because I wanted my face intact, thank you.

=I pick up my HMG and set it next to me=

Feeling I've won the argument, I turn and leave my room, still reading the data pad.
Until I walk into Bartely. Naked.
And drunk.

"Turn around. Get dressed. Then come back here."

And just to add that bit of punishment, I shout.

"MOVE IT, SPARTAN!"

Thoughts. My mind was filled with them, and they had all come from one small little thing, such as reports being opened. I really needed to do something, otherwise this'd be in my head for quite a while.

I continue making my way to War Games, keeping my eyes open for any other Pegasus members. Eventually I spot Marty also walking about.

Hey. Doing anything?

I stop walking after hearing Shannon.

"Just thinking. So, nothing really. Why?"

Argo or Sovereign just pulled an op. I was thinking we could get some War Games in.

I shrug, not really looking at him.

"Sure, I guess."

I turn around slightly, not much different than my previous standing.

I resume my walk towards War Games.

So. Heard anything about this new destination?

"Other than it's got all the eggheads excited? Nope. You?"

I continue walking, slightly slower than Shannon's pace.

Nothing. But it's not hard to guess. If the scientists are buzzed then it has to be Forerunner. Something shouts Requiem to me.

I disliked the S-IV's. They just weren't the same cut as the S-II's or even my own S-III's had been. Most of them were just Marines or ODSTs who had volunteered. I was the only ex-S-III on the ship.

Alexis arrived at the hanger, assault rifle on her back, sidearm by her side. She raised her voice.
"Sovereign, fall in!" She shouted when she came to a stop in front of the Pelican.

=I jog over, my HMG clanking against my armor=

Sovereign 3, reporting.

=I set down the HMG=

What is it, ma'am.

"what ever you say Commander sweet checks."

I give her a cocky grin then turn off and stumble into a wall.

"Uh... I meant to do that...."

She totally has a thing for me...

Of course I knew she probably didn't, but I still enjoyed barking up that tree just to piss her off and get a good laugh.

"ON THE DOUBLE."

I shout it almost down his ear, hoping that his hangover is as bad as I suspect.

"Ow!! Damn, I heard.. don't get your panties in a wad!"

I strut into my room then peek my head around the corner.

"I'll be in the shower if you need me."

I flash a wink then head into my Bathroom to take a shower.

Why is he still in my Team...

I continue on my way, with a slight shaking of my head, and continue to read the Data Pad in my hand.

Ben had already been in the hangar, taking apart his sniper rifle, and putting it back together at a work bench, multiple times. After hearing Lyra's voice break over the comm, he loaded up his magazines and suited up in his armor. He also had an old M7 SMG on his hip.

Ben made his way over to the squad leader Hunter, leaving his sniper rifle on the bench. He snapped into a salute.
"Sovereign two here, ma'am."

Alexis sighed.
"Alright people. We got this lovely milk-run, courtesy of Commander Stuffed Pony. So, grab your gear and get on the Pelican."
Alexis put on her helmet. Her Venator gear did tend to give her a...slightly fierce appearance. She merely glanced towards the Elite who had yelled at her.
Fuck you SplitNeck. Not after Ashiosis. Ignorance is the best you will get.
"Let's go Sovereign. When we get back, drinks are on Pegasus."

"Yes ma'am!"
Ben ended his salute then turned and ran over and grabbed his rifle, along with six magazines.
A milk run? if only things were always that easy... Something always goes wrong.

=I grin placing my helmet on my head=

Yes, ma'am!

=I get two M7s with a few clips, and Assault Rifle with a few clips as well, along with some grenades, and bring along my 'Bell Ringers'=

Alright Big Bessie, you're going for a ride...

=I then pick up my HMG and board the Pelican=

Ben takes a couple of grenades, then after loading all up, he walks over to the Pelican and up the ramp.

Grabbing her trademark Railgun, Alexis went up the ramp, arms crossed.
"Alright ladies. Strap in."
Alexis walked over and sat near the front, leaving her squad to sit wherever they saw fit.

Ben took a seat as close to the cockpit as possible, as he normally did.
He slammed a mag in his sniper rifle but left its chamber clean.
He saw Hunter using a 920 Carbine. Ben never liked them, he didn't like the charge, and it was expensive to shoot. But he wasn't about to object, it was still good at packing a punch. He gave her a thumbs up, the universal 'good to go' sign.

=I sit in the Pelican and set down my HMG, finding a seat=

Well...It's just like old times...

=I then check my assault rifle, making sure it was good to go and gave a thumbs up=

Alexis knocked her fist on the side of the Pelican, signaling the pilot to go.

The Pelican pushed off from the deck and exited the hanger.

*a few minutes later*

I step out of my quarters fresh, clean, and coffee in hand. I had thrown on some causal wear and my hockey hoodie (Irish gents can watch hockey too) since going nude wasn't 'permitted'. I inserted my earpiece in case Lyra got a reason to yell at us, and set down the corridor in search of something to do.

I walk into the hanger, hoping to gloat in Alexis's face before she left. Which was taken out of my mind when I saw the seemingly pissed off Elite.

I quickly pull up the info I have on him, reading his rank, name and the like.

"Excuse me... Special Operations officer Zamamee? I need to ask you to calm down. For your own safety."

I look up at the Spartan than at Veer.

"I agree commander, this is the Spartans mission. Its best we sit this one out."

I was still working on perfecting my English. I could speak fluently, but every now and then a word would pop up I didn't understand.

The Pelican exited the hanger, leaving the artificial gravity and going weightless. The engines revved up to full, rocketing the Pelican forward.
"This is Echo 626; we are heading down."

"So, what's the plan for War Games?" I hadn't really asked before I'd decided to allow myself to come along.
