Halo 4 RP Part 1

I ran through the map, firing randomly and screaming.

"Shan if this doesn't bring them out then I most really suck at my job.."

I go up the center ramp and into a little lookout in the center of a giant rock.

Chuckling at my brother's comment as we head up to the bridge. He always was a squirrly one.

"Shit, bored? Fuck, get your ass moving. Do not make her bored."

Alexis frowned.
"We're securing the area until Argo arrives. We're almost there."

I take a deep breath, lining up a shot at an Elite Sniper.

"Smile for the camera..."

I pull the trigger and reload, switching position, but still keeping an eye on the sniper

I activated camoflage as i crept through the halls of the false structure.

"I'm going to retreat towards the main conflict."

Come on guys. You're gonna have to bring them back a little more than that.

I could see only two of the elites were now past my cave, the others still back.

Jeremy was past Shan's cave, hoping to draw them to his position.
"Careful, I see active camo users. Bartley, watch your back. Same to you, lyra."
Jeremy sprayed some more AR rounds.
Come to the SIII who shoved a shotgun down your dad's throat asking where was your fucking gods now

I keep going towards where I thought the bridge would be.

It had gone quiet near the Warthog wreckage. I moved out, past my rock, deciding it would be best to see what condition the 'Hog was in.

I doubted it would be good news.

"The Spartans are pushing foward."

I leaned against the cave wall as my shields came back up.

(Enir)

I let out a gargle as my blood seeps through my throat and drowns me....

I wake up outside of the War Games chamber and just have enough time to see the Spartan walking away from my body on a big screen.

"She is a sneaky one..."

The Warthog was in pretty bad shape. While it had yet to ignite into the waves of flame expected from a vehicle, there was no possible way for it to be placed back into combat. The left side wheels had been punctured, with the far left wheel almost having a 'scar' that measured approximately around 3-4cm. The right side wheels were mostly fine, except for the dirt of course, which was the be expected. The front windscreen had smashed, with most of the glass no longer by the Warthog, most likely in it's trail. While I knew not much about engines and the sort, I presumed that it would be damaged, with some fancy pipe dented, snapped, burst, whatever the fancy technical name the engineers used.

That wasn't to say I didn't know anything at all about vehicles, the Spartan Programme had been kind enough to bestow that information onto me, before that the only important part was the Warthog Turret. I pondered in my mind to find the actual name of the Warthog. To most of us, it was just the Warthog. It was something Force Application... That was it, the M12 Force Application Vehicle. 6 Metres in length, 3 metres wide and 3 metres high. It weighed around 3 tons, which to any normal soldier of the United Nations Space Command would be quite a lot. The M12 Force Application Vehicle, or the 'Hog, could hit 125km/h. There was always a satisfaction that came from using the actual force of the Warthog to splatter people. Odd. Of course I doubted that tactic would ever work in actual combat, with about ten small Grunts armed with plasma pistols effectively deciding that your Warthog was the next target for their little heads. The engine of the Warthog, something I had to study in Military Academy, was probably interesting to an Engineer, but all I could remember was it being to do with liquid hydrogen or something. Effective, or at least I remember that word coming up. To think, all this effort into one little vehicle, not very little but whatever.

I don't exactly see why we didn't just make, well, a lot of these. Gauss variants, Rocket variants, just more ways that would have helped kill the Covenant back then, and the Storm Covenant now. What could the Covenant throw at us? Shiny purple ships the fly in space powered on the decomposing bodies of grunts? That sounded pretty right, after all, the Elites were the 'Posh' disfigured alien race that were suddenly happy to accept the help of a race they'd decided they didn't like. They listened to fat floating slugs, and I'm not talking about the Huragok, and though it wouldn't turn out badly? But back to the point about Elites. They'd been taken down by angry space apes.

Now I wasn't going to say Humanity had come out unscratched by anything, but at least we didn't claim to be top dogs, then get kicked down by some equally as ugly race. Maybe this wasn't the best time to insult the Elites, we did have to be best buddies with them, share some crumpets, you know how it goes. But out here, by the closest human thing to me, a wrecked Warthog, it didn't seem so bad. I could insult them out loud, in my head. Nobody would notice.

"Marty what the fuck are you doing?.... Did you forget we're in a battle...."

"Oh, shit, I don't know. Admiring the Warthog I guess."

I quickly checked my MA5D, and began moving through the oddly quiet area around me, leaving the thoughtful wreckage behind me.

I decided to check on the Warthog one last time, see if the turret was possibly in working condition.

You see, that was when I realised it was a really bad idea.

I'd forgot that while the Warthog was pretty much nearly destroyed, I'd forgot one thing.

It had yet to explode.

It did explode.

And it hurt.

Not as much as I expected it to, however.

I guess you could say Curiosity killed the Cat.

I hear the Warthog explosion and see Marty's death marker. I then Promptly fall on my ass and start laughing so hard it hurts.

"What a freaking moron!!... I can't stop laughing!!"

"Hah! did you see that veer?! That was Amazing!"

I quickly ran back to Veer's marker whislt laughing like a hieena.

Alexis halts her team.
"This is Sovereign, we have sight of a Forerunner structure. Sending coordinates. Argo Team is clear to land." She called. "Got nothing here that'll take out a Pelican."

Ben wanted to say something. Why couldn't we just investigate the structure? Or why didn't Argo just come down in the first place? But he didn't, he kept his cool, and followed orders. Benjamin would have been less alert, but the majority of Forunner things that humans decided to land on were inhabited with something that wanted to kill them. So Ben took a knee and kept scanning the area.

Beginning to zone back into combat, I snuck around nearby rocks. Attempting to get a sight on one of the spartans.

"Where has everyone gone?"

Durrett let out a loud sigh. He didn't want to seem impatient, but he also didn't want to kneel in the sand all damn day.

=I also sigh, eyeing the structure like an engineer=

Seems like the Forerunners wanted to keep people out...

=I continue to eye the building=

Then again, I'm just a grunt speculating.

Ben looked over to Forester.
"Jarhead... Grunts are the Army."

"You are Spartans. Not jarheads. Get up. Let's secure the structure's main floor for Argo.


Jeremy slid into a cave
"Shan. Got a target for me?"

I wait until the dust clears then shake my head.

Nope. Both elites down and out.

"We're all just soldiers ma'am."
Ben waits for orders.

=I smile under my helmet=

Yeah...I meant jarhead.

=I keep smiling, following Alexis=

Copy that ma'am.

=I look at the door=

You want me to knock on the door?

"Do it." Alexis directed. "I did say secure the main floor of the structure."

=I nod and walk up to the door=

Copy that, ma'am

Let's see if I'll have to use a breaching charge...

=Then door then flies open as I get near, and I radio the squad=

Door's open.

"Copy."
Ben walked over to Forester's location.
"I see it took a lot of elbow grease to get that open."
Ben's voice was obviously sarcastic.

=I frown at the remark=

Har har har.

=I take point and start to head inside=

Ben followed Mike in the structure. He slung his sniper on his back, while drawing his M7 for closer quarters.
