ZRP-2: Chapter Two, Paradise in Hell

(James)
"Hmm, that would work. Turn the hunters into the hunted, especially since they're not very bright. But to lure them.....we need bait."

(Sam)
"Oh no, not again James. You already got to be bait last time."

Eve steps forward a bit.
"My turn. And if you steal the flare again, I'll shoot your leg." She said, dead serious.

Hibiki was pretty shocked at Eve's determination.
And threat.

=I keep walking a bit, then turn back to the group=

Well, let's see what happens...

=I then see the look on people's faces=

Well...this should be interesting...

(James)
"How about we go with someone who does not have a lot to lose? I mean I'm going to be a father, Hibiki's with child, Eve and Sam, you guys already found each other way too soon to be put in harms way, and Andrew has got Mira who'd probably chew his ass out if he does anything stupid. We need someone who has no real emotional ties, and literally nothing to lose....."

(Sam)
"Going to be hard pressed to find someone like that."
=We entered the lobby=

=I simply nod=

Too true...

=I ponder the thought=

Wait a minute...

What about Abel?

(James)
"Ehhh....it's his choice. I won't force him to be bait though. Hell, won't even ask."
=We crossed the lobby, entering the dinging room and to my relief we found both Tyler and Abel, though not exactly sitting together=

"Well, this makes the job of finding them easier."

(Sam)
=With a snort, I turned down to Jame=
"Ya think?"

=I'm sorely tempted to make a smart comment. I settle for a smirk=

Well...this should be interesting...

=I turn my head back=

Ya know...it might be a good idea to check on Mira...

=I lean down to James and whisper=

I'll check in on Mira, see if she's in fighting shape.

(James)
"Alright, we'll be here."
=I wheeled over to Abel first=

"Abel, we need to talk man."

Abel looked up and saw James in a chair.
"Oh shit, is that permanent?"

(James)
"Thankfully no, just until I can walk without crippling myself in pain. Listen, we're being asked to deal with an infestation of walkers and we'd like your help. Care to join us?"

(Sam)
=I walked over to where Tyler sat, lightly tapping his shoulder=
"Tyler, get up. We need your help."

=I nod, and then head back to our room=

Let's see if she's recovered enough by now...I hope...

=I make my way through the lobby, eventually making it back to our room=

"Walkers? Yeah, I can help you out their."
Abel stood up from the bench.

(James)
"Good. We're meeting outside in a few minutes, so grab your gear and meet us there."
=Turning, I wheeled out of the dining room=

When I feel something tap my shoulder, I just about reached for my gun. But it wasn't there anymore.
Good thing it was just Sam, not one of the bloody guards.

"Huh? What?"

(Sam)
"Tyler, it's Sam. Listen, we've got a job to do, so get up and we'll get your stuff."

(James)
=I was waiting out in the lobby=

"Oh, okay. I'll just follow you then. Lead the way."

I stand up from my spot and stretch my legs.

(Sam)
=Turning my back on him, I led the two of them, Eve and Tyler, out to the lobby. Eve was still holding my hand, and for a brief moment I did wonder about whether or not there should be some kind of limit for how long she held my hand. I mean, was she going to be holding it during a firefight or something?=

Abel had followed James to the lobby, where both waited.
Abel thought about striking up a conversation, or something, but decided against it.

"So, from the looks of you, we get our weapons back?"

WE made it back to James and Abel. I guess we go when James goes.

(Sam)
"And then some..."
=I stopped in front of James, Abel, and Hibiki=

(James)
"Tyler, glad to see you could make it. Listen, we've been given access to the armory here, so you're free to use either your own weapons, or get some new ones. We're taking out some walkers in the compound, so I suggest you get armed."

"Wow, really? What a strike of good fortune."

Surprisingly, I said it in a cheery tone. And a little more Irish then normal.

"Where is their armory, so I can get some?"

(James)
"Cooper can show you and Abel to it. It's in the stadium, and Tyler, trust me when I say you won't be disappointed by their inventory."
=It was really, really hard to hide the grin on my face=

"What? Do they have rows of weapons and ammuntion or something?"

=I arrive at the room and knock on the door, mentally bracing myself=

Please don't kill me, please don't kill me...

=I open the door, again, mentally bracing myself=

Hey Mira, you up for a fight?

"Stadium." Eve said.

Hibiki sighed. "It's a dream come true. I want an armory like that."

Mira sat on the bed, cross-legged. She was dressed and all.
And staring at the door, arms crossed.

=I get a vague sense of dread=

This can't be good...

=I look at her almost apologetically=

Why are you looking at me like that?

I almost stagger when the little girl said Stadium.

"Sta-stadium sized armory? This a joke?"

(James)
"Well, I wouldn't call it a stadium sized armory. It's just built into the stadium, in one of the large storage rooms they have there. But it is still very expansive."

"So what? did they loot a military base or something?"

"National Guard." Eve said.


Mira cocked and eyebrow at Andy.
"So. How was your day?"

=I grin a bit=

We got access to their very large armory...

=I indicate my latest assortment of weapons, still feeling giddy=

All in all...it went very well so far.

=I give her a smile=

You up for taking on some walkers?

Mira sighed...then smiled. "Let's go kick some ass."

=I can't help but smile at her reaction=

Well...at least she's willing to fight...

=I take her hand and help her off the bed=

Indeed we shall...after we get you some weapons again. Which shouldn't be a problem, given what they have.

=With Mira in tow, we head out of the room to meet the others=

(James)
=I clapped my hands together, getting everyone's attention=
"Alright, let's get moving people. We're on a deadline here, at least I think anyway."

(Sam)
"Yeah....they never did say how long we've got."

(James)
"How about we get it done asap?"
=Before anyone could respond, I started rolling for the door=

Abel waited for everyone else to start following James before he followed himself. His weaponry was just fine as it was, but he might have to grab some shells and .45 ammo at some point.

Eve held Sam.
"Doesn't matter how long we have. We can do it."

Hibiki groaned and hurried after James.


Mira took Andy's hand, smiling.

(James)
=Honestly, I couldn't help it. Years of being on the internet before the outbreak had prepared me for this moment. As I wheeled myself out of the door, I siad at the top of my lungs=
"They see me rollin! They hatin! Come on move it slow pokes!"

(Sam)
"That we can Eve."
=I grimaced at James' joke=

"Hardy har har James."

=I start laughing at James=

And I thought I made myself look like an idiot...

=I facepalm slightly=

Eve winced. "If that's my stepfather, I don't want to live on this planet anymore."

Abel scratched his face, while he followed behind.
"Oi..."

(Sam)
"Eh, he has his moments, and when they happen they're not that bad."
=Still, I winced at the joke=

"this though, was not one of them."

(James)
=I continued through the street, amazed I was able to outpace the others. Then again, I was on wheels=

Hibiki finally caught up, sighing.

Eve glanced up at Sam. "So...think we'll have time to go back to our room?" She blushes. "I want to spend more time with you."

=I sigh and shake my head, trying to keep pace with James=

That wheelchair...Jesus...

=I step up my pace a bit, finally catching up=

That wasn't one of your finer moments, James.

(James)
=Without even turning to look at him, I just shouted back=
"Eh bite me Andrew!"

=In a lower voice so only Hibiki heard me=
"In all honesty though, what do we do?"

(Sam)
"Eve, what do you say we focus on getting through this alive, then see about the room?"

"Ok." She said softly. "Promise."

Hibiki grinned. "Go in. Kill everything. Come back and celebrate."

=I sigh and facepalm=

Like I should be one to judge...

=I follow behind him, just trying to keep up=

My God...what strange times we do live in...

(James)
"We need a plan Hibiki. I mean, with walkers it's just a standard shoot em' up, but if these are in numbers that make Elites nervous, then the usual won't cut it."

(Sam)
"Good."

"We should get numbers. Then we decide if I ask for a tank or not." She grinned.

Eve nodded. "Ok. It's a date?"

(James)
"We can't get numbers. We need to do this ourselves, or we lose any form of credibility for both ourselves and Clarissa."

(Sam)
"Wouldn't call it a date Eve. Not yet."

"Fine. Get the Armored Jeep. Play a game of Carmegeddon with it. Then beat down anything left."

Eve looked sad. "We're together. Why can't we call it a date?"
