Chapter 1- 'Welcome to the Wasteland'

Well, that's just great. I was looking forward to another fight after the ghouls, the dogs, and the bandits.

=I make my way down the stairs and head off for Diego=
=I find him at his stall and get out the finger from my pocket=

Here, it's done.

=He smiles a small smile and begins to get out the caps=

Diego: Two hundred, right?

=I shake my head=

Four.

Diego: What!?

=My voice is strong this time=

Four.

=i climb down the stairs, and then the small drop with foot holds. Stairs don't always hold up so well, sometimes you gotta improvise. Anyway, I slide back the magnification on my scope to the 6x. It wasn't ideal, but it'd be better. I kept it lowered, and started to stalk my way along towards the base. I headed towards James house first, to warn him in case he didn't see the troops, assuming they were troops. I kept out of sight, and only moved when I was sure no one was watching. I finished off my protein bar, and stuffed the wrapper under a rock. I slide on my anti-glint cover for the scope and continued on my way=

=I start to move out into the open, hearing faint gunshots in the distance=

So what have you got?

=i hit a cloud of dirt, and I pull my balaclava up over my mouth, and lower my spotter's scope over my eye. It wasn't perfect, but it was something. I checked a corner, and quickly moved back. NEA troops. I waited a moment before looking again, and then dashed across the opening. I slowly moved up to James home and knocked on the door=

Alright then. Let's see what I got.

=I take down my heavy weapons=

For heavy artillery: RPG-7s, AT-4s, a SMAW, an M3 Recoilless rifle, and a M320 MGL. And a whole gamut of assault rifles, shotguns, pistols, Machine guns and SMGs. Take you pick.

=I hear a knock on my door=

Hold on for a second, sounds like I have company.

=I head up to the door, open it and see Markis=

Markis? What the hell are doing here?

Warning. You see NEA?

=i gesture behind me in the vague direction of where I saw the troops=

=I followed James to the door, where he was talking with a new guy. He asked if we had seen the N.E.A.=
Yeah, we saw them.

=I see the house from a different angle and see the movement again=

=I stop behind more debris and watch=

=i look to the person. I kinda recognized him. I took a chance=
Trouble with dogs?

It would kinda be suicide to against them now. We're just three, well armed people. They've got a large, armed group.

Chris had now completed his day. He walked outside of River City and just stared blankly at the Wastes.

Shithole, with a capitol S!

He eventually started walking down the ramp. He equipped his Rifle, and started walking towards Megaton, that way. Hell, it would take ages.

The Remnant are what's left of the U.S. armed forces, and they stand a much better chance against the N.E.A than we do. And I agree with you Markis, we'll give you whatever help we can lend.

Me: I'm sorry but I'm looking for a locksmith. Any ideas?

Me: half it and we have a deal

I exit the building disappointed. I exit the town, heading to rivet city hoping I'll get something there.

I check the range on my spotter's scope and gesture behind me the number 2, and then 300. I set the bipod down and take aim=

Roaming the wastes as usual. He did this regularly. Just an average day.
Life was nothing special, he just waited for something fun to happen.

=i heard some shots in the distance, but not in the direction of the base. We got closer, and I signaled to the soldier at the gate to open it. Once in sight of the base, I had stopped my stalk. I also gestured that there would be two others with me, holding up three fingers on my hand. I walked slowly and steadily towards the base, James and the new guy following=

=I sight a couple of roaming bandits and I check my magazine, the clank of the metal attracted their attention=
