(He could feel the jaw break from the impact)
(The man falls and begins writhing in pain)

Dante-Out of my sight.

(The men stare at him. Then the two others. Then him)

Now

(They disperse)
(He shakes his head and turns back to Sarah)
(He walks up to her)
(She latches on)

Sarah-Thank you. God. Thank you.

Dante-Come on. Lets go.

(They hop on the bike and head back to the house)
(They arrive and she runs upstairs. She locks the door)
(He heads to his own and lies down)

(He can hear music blaring from her room)

(He sighs and shakes his head)

Scum. Nothing but Scum

(He closes his eyes)


(Netherrealm)

Hmm...

(No Laughter)

(Tears streaming down her face)
(She shoves her face into the pillow)

(She lets the music consume her)
(Trying to forget)

(She continues crying into the pillow)

(He sighs as he faintly hears the crying over the music)

(He stands up and goes to her door)
(He knocks)

Sarah?

Sarah-I...dont want to talk...

(He nods)

Alright. Remember I am right down the hall

Sarah-Okay...

(He heads back to his room)

(Her figure appears in the doorway)

(He looks over to her)

Sarah-Dante?

Dante-Sarah. Talk?

(She nods and walks over to the bed)

Dante-What happened?

Sarah-I...was at the range. Practicing. When I got done I headed back here...

Dante(nods)-Yeah.

Sarah-I heard that man's voice. It startled me. I continued walking...

Dante(nods again)-Yeah

Sarah-Then I saw that group...I broke away and began running.

Dante-Yeah.

(She turns and looks at him)

Sarah-Then you came...and dealt with them.

(Tears begin to form)
(He notices the tears and hugs her)

Dante-Hey. Its alright. You are safe.

Sarah-I cant tell you how...how thankful I am.

(He releases her)

Dante-It is okay. Go get some sleep.

(She nods and leaves)

Sarah-Thank you Dante.

(She enters her room. Turns down the music and lies down)
(She sleeps. Dreaming of good things)

(He sighs)
(He puts his head back and drifts off)
(Dreaming of Ash. The others)

(Wondering if what that marine at that base said was true)

(He sighs as he opens his eyes)

Just cant sleep

(He takes the shield from the table)
(He activates the wrist-blade)

Hmm.

Thevo...I hope you are enjoying your frozen wasteland

(He goes to the supply pouch)
(Taking out the note)

(He sits on the bed and reads it)
(Over and Over)
(Silently)
(Tears creep in)
(Falling)

(He lays the note on the table beside him and turns off the light)
(Another vision appears next to him)

(Wiping away the tears)
(He sleeps facing her)

(He returns to his dreams. Dreams of everything)

(Music begins to play)

(He sighs again)

(He stands and heads downstairs)
(He goes out and begins a short jog)

(The street being lit by nothing but the streetlights and the moon)
(He stops off at an intersection)

(He hears something)

(He continues on)

(He looks around as he runs)

(He is tackled from the shadows)

(He hits the ground)
(A person on top of him punching)

(He flips the person off of him)

(The person stands up and goes into a stance)

(He recognizes the voice)

(The man stands at six foot four)
(He has a bulky build)
(The hood of the jacket covers his face)

Dante-Nikolai?

Nikolai-Why. are you here.

(The man takes off the hood)
(Nikolai had grown old)
(It is apparent from his eyes the lack of sleep)
(The stress)

Dante-I can ask you the same question.

Nikolai-You should not have come here. Not with her.

Dante-What do you mean.

Nikolai-Juggernaut. You need to get out of here.

Dante-I saw the documents. The Serum?

Nikolai-It was based off an old friends formula.

(Nikolai shakes his head)

NO! I have said to much.

Dante-The hell are you talking about?

Nikolai-Death will come to you here. You saw my subjects. They will break through here. They will kill everyone.

Dante-What are they!

Nikolai-The locals here call them zombies

(He relaxes the stance)

Dante-I know that.

Nikolai(smiles)-Look at you. It has been so long. Project Juggernaut has turned you into the perfect soldier.

(He shakes his head)

Dante-Do not switch the subject!

(He pulls out the Hydra)

(Nikolai raises his hands)

Nikolai-Okay, Okay.

(The sun begins to peek over the horizon)

Nikolai-Not here. That house you have here.

Dante-Fine.

(They head off to the house)

What is he doing here? What did he mean by we will all die

(He shakes his head)

What have I gotten myself into

(He takes Ash's dogtags into his hands)

Another snag, my love

(He sighs as they near the building)
(He looks at Nikolai's hands)
(Pale)
(Veins pulsing out)

(They enter the house)
(Sarah is still in her room sleeping)

(He motions to keep to a whisper and goes to the living room)

(He sits down in the chair)
(Nikolai sits on the couch)

Dante-Tell me. Everything

Nikolai-It began after your augmentations. I left ONI in pursuit of a better life.

(He nods)

I had met Dr. Nikolaus Oehlburg.

Nikolaus?

He had this serum. (shakes head) I made it my goal to re-create it. I became obsessed with it. Always changing. Always needing subjects. Always testing. It became my life...I fell into insanity. It was only when the Subject had attacked and succeeded had I seen the ways. I had created an apocalypse serum. When I fled. I went to the woods. I had a shack set up. (Pause) I was bitten.

Dante-What? You were bitten?

Nikolai-I am infected

(Nikolai looks at him)

Dante-How long ago?

Nikolai-Years ago.

Dante-You haven't changed?

Nikolai-After I was bitten I had immediately began working on an antidote. I am running out.

(Sweat begins to roll of Nikolai's head)
(He takes a small vial out of a pouch)
(He drinks the fluid in it)

(The color slowly returns)

Nikolai-If I run out of this. (He tosses the vial) Everyone dies

Dante-So that is what you meant

Nikolai-Yes. Now. Tell me. About you. What are you doing here?

Dante-I am trying to find someone.

Nikolai-You thought of searching here?

Dante-Forced here. Covenant Seraphs.

Nikolai(nods)-They can be a nuisence. You had been to Freemont.

Dante-Yes. How did you know.

Nikolaus-Sarah...

Dante-How do you know her?

Nikolaus-She is my niece

Dante-Your Niece?

Nikolai-Yes.

(He shakes his head)

Dante-You want her safe?

Nikolai-Of course.

Dante-Why did you attack me?

Nikolai-To see how you would respond. You responded remarkably, my Juggernaut.

Dante-Call me Dante. I am more than your experiment.

Nikolai-Forgive me. Years with no human contact has left me...rude.

(She wakes up and heads downstairs)
(She walks down the steps)
(Stretching and Yawning)

(She goes into the kitchen still half asleep)
(She grabs a bowl and some cereal)
(She yawns again and goes into the living room)

(Not paying attention to her uncle, she turns on the Television)

Sarah-Good morning, Dante.

Dante-Morning...Sarah

(She looks to the person next to her)
(Her vision still a bit blurred)
(They begin to focus in)

(She looks at Dante)

Sarah-Who's this?

Dante-Um...

Nikolai-It's your uncle, Sarah.

Sarah-Hmm?

(She blinks a few times)
(Her jaw drops)

Sarah-Uncle Nikolai?

(Nikolai nods)

Nikolai-A hug for your old uncle?

(She places the bowl onto the table and looks at him)

Sarah-What the hell do you think?

Nikolai-I take it you are still angry...

Sarah-I ask again. What the hell do you think?

Dante-Um...

(She puts her hand up still looking at Nikolai)

Sarah-Where the hell were you.

(Her voice exerting anger)

Nikolai-I am sorry, plemyannitsa

Sarah-Do not. Speak.

(He hangs his head)

Nikolai-I had to.

Sarah-You had to what. Abandon your family!?

Nikolai-I...was...

Sarah-Doing your research?!?! That is your excuse for everything!

Nikolai-I..

Sarah-Vosemʹ let! Vosemʹ! Frimont stalopolnoe krushenie! Vy mogli by pomochʹ!

(He sighs as he listens)
(Not understanding the language)

Nikolai-I know. I am sorry. Please use English for our friend.

(She sighs)

Sarah-Fine. Give a better reason than "my research got in the way"

Nikolai-I can't...Please.

Sarah-Freemont could have used you. My mother contacted you!

Nikolai-I know...

(She sighs)

(She looks at Dante)

Sarah-Im going back upstairs. I cant talk to him.

(He nods)

Dante-Go on.

(She stands, grabs her bowl, and runs upstairs)

(He sighs, looking over Nikolai)

Nikolai(Sighs)-What should I say...

Dante-Give her time.

Nikolai-Tell me...about yourself...

Dante-You know everything about me Nikolai.

Nikolai-I have forgotten much.

Dante-There is nothing to tell.

Nikolai(nods)-Shall I tell you...more about Juggernaut.

Dante-If you want...

Nikolai-Juggernaut. Was a program. Created to make soldiers far more superior to the regular Spartans. The goal was to have two soldiers and only two.

Dante-So...he knew he was.

Nikolai-Going to die. The process was to train you all to be more effecient in CQC, EOD, and EVA. For you. We focused you on Sniping, Recon, and CQC. You were the weakest of the group. We all thought you were going to die. However, you were always the stubborn one. Always wanted to be the best. We trained you the hardest. The harshest.

(He nods)

Anyway. Juggernaut was made to increase your stamina. Your damage intake. Your damage release. The SHIELD Program would also do this. However with the SHIELD Program the side effects made the subject's mental capacity drop. Juggernaut was designed for the increase in mental power.

(He nods again)

Dante-To create a super-super soldier.

Nikolai-Yes.

Dante-Lynn?

(He looks up)

Nikolai-We had trained her in Assault, Hacking, and EVA.

Dante(nods)-Alright.

Nikolai-Would you like to know more of Serum-35?

(He shakes his head)

Dante-No.

Nikolai-Alright.

(They sit there. Silence in the room except for the television)

(He stands)

Nikolai-I need to get back.

(His skin begins to turn pale)
(Veins begin showing. Pulsating)
(Sweat begins to roll down his face)

(He begins to panic. Rushing out the door)

Alright...

(He stands and walks up the stairs)
(He goes to Sarah's door and knocks)

Sarah? Can I take the bowl?

(She opens the door and shoves the bowl into his chest)
(He grabs it and she slams the door)

(He shakes his head and goes to the kitchen to clean the dishes)

So much stuff going on...So many bumps in this road

(He shrugs)

(He smiles as he puts away the last dish)

(He heads to the garage and gets on the bike)
(He starts it up and heads to the mechanic)

(He had learned to do many things with only his left arm)

(He pulls into the shop)

(He goes up to the mechanic)
(The mechanic shoves the arm at him)

(He takes out his card)

(He tilts his head)

(He attaches the arm and heads out)
(He gets on the bike and heads back)

(He looks at the arm and shakes his head)

(He shrugs)

(He stops off at the gym)
(He enters a room and begins his training)


(She had left the house and headed off)

I need to clear my head...

(She sighs. Looking at the sun)

Uncle Nikolai...

(She had returned to the house)
(She is currently watching television in her room)

(He had gone to the firing range)

(He unlimbers the AM)

(Aims down at the target)

Hmm

(Fires)
(The bullet flies into the targets head)

(He aims to the heart)

(Fires)
(Same result)

(He hears a shot in the next spot over)

(He looks around the corner)

Dante-Nikolai

(The man fires the pistol)

Nikolai-Dante

Dante-I thought you hated firearms.

Nikolai-I do, however since there are things out there to kill us all. Might as well give them some lead aspirins

(They both chuckle)

Dante-You know. Sarah has not been the same since seeing you.

Nikolai-How would you know, Juggernaut. How long have you known her.

Dante-Point for you Nikolai. Only a week or two.

(He pulls the trigger one final time)
(He reloads and limbers the AM)

Dante-Nikolai. We should go.

Nikolai(nods)-Yes.

(Nikolai holsters the pistol)

(They walk off)

(In the distance they see a group)

(Large people encased in armor)
(Armor he had never seen)

Nikolai-Oh no.

Dante-What?

Nikolai-SHIELDS.

Dante-Oh. So...I take it we cant just walk past them.

Nikolai-Best to try and avoid

(They get nearer and nearer)
(They break off down an alley)

(He stops behind a wall and peers out)

(Two of the five Shields carry turrets)
(The other's weapons are magnetically attached)

Nikolai-We should get back to that house of yours

Dante(nods)-right

Dante-Should we kill them?

Nikolai-What the hell do you mean by we? If they fire upon you. You take them out.

(They begin to jog through the alley)

Dante-Are they not suppose to be stronger and faster than I?

Nikolai-You are one in the same in strength, speed, stamina. The differences between the two is size and mental capacity.

Dante-Okay...Still doesnt change the fact that it is five of them and one of me...

(They continue on. Breaking through alleyways to get to the house)

Dante-Are there any weak points?

Nikolai-I never got around in researching weaknesses

Dante-Great job Doc.

(They get to the house)
(Sarah had moved downstairs)

(She looks at Nikolai)
(Then to Dante)

Sarah-What the hell...

Dante-Come now.

Sarah-What?

Nikolai-There are people out there. People who may want to kill us.

Sarah-What?!?!

(He rushes upstairs)

Nikolai-Possible UNSC Soldiers. Special Soldiers.

Sarah-Spartans?

Nikolai-A form of Spartan yes. SHIELD Spartans to be exact.

(He grabs his armor and puts it on)
(He rushes downstairs back to the others)

(She turns to Dante)

Sarah-Dante...what are we going to do?

(He sighs)

Dante-You two go get a transport from the airfield. I need to make a stop.

(They nod and run out)

(The group of SHIELDS had made their way around the small town)
(They stopped off at the airfield)
(They begin searching)
(They had been assigned to scout the town for enemies and to set up a UNSC base)

(Nikolai and Sarah had also made it to the airfield just far enough away to not be seen)

Nikolai-They are here

Sarah-Great...this is not good.


(He had taken the bike to the jewelers)
(Gotten the ring and headed to the field)

Dante-Hopefully we can avod a confrontation

(They near the airfield)
(He sees them)

(He stops the bike)
(He sees Nikolai and Sarah off in the distance)

(He walks up to them)

(A picture comes across his HUD)

(The SHIELD aims the turret)

(His eyes widen)

Dante-Whoa, Whoa, Whoa. No need to do this.

(The other SHIELDS aim their weapons)

S1-Give us a reason not to.

Dante-Um...

(He looks up at each)

Probably should have thought of something

(He thinks and comes up with nothing)

This isnt good...


Sarah-The hell is he doing?

Nikolai-It isnt negotiating

(Another SHIELD appears behind Nikolai and Sarah)

(They freeze)

(Nikolai turns around and looks up)

Nikolai-Dr. Nikolai Gordon. ONI Scientist.


(One of the five shoves the Tactical Shotgun into his visor)

*Thinnest armor layer is in the hands. three inches. Largest armor layer is in the chest at fifteen inches*

(He activates the cloak and goes behind the group)
(The SHIELDS look around)


(S6 goes into a salute)

S6-Sir!

Nikolai-At...ease...


(He runs up behind one and climbs)
(He gets to the neck and activates the wrist-blade)
(He shoves the nine inch blades through the armor)

(He is thrown off and lands on the ground with a thud)

Frick. Not a good idea

(He looks up at the one he had just stabbed)

(The blade made no effect)

(He stands up, surrounded)

This could be worse

(He sighs as the SHIELDS aim the weapons)

That armor is too thick

(He takes a cryo-bomb and a firebomb)

Freeze and Burn

(He tosses the cryo-bomb at the the one he had stabbed and the firebomb at another)
(The cryo-bomb makes contact and locks up the armor)
(The firebomb sets the soldier on fire. Not doing much)

(The ice begins to break as the soldier moves)

Great!

(He activates cloak again and runs up to the frozen one)
(He slashes the arm with the blade)

(Blood seeps through)
(The soldier not noticing the pain)

If it bleeds. It can be killed


Nikolai-Can you do anything to stop that?

(He points to the scene)
(The SHIELD takes some time to respond)

S6-Perhaps.

(He unholsters the Hydra and flips off of the SHIELD)
(He fires)
(Three shots blast the armor)
(The SHIELD goes back a bit and begins firing the Heavy Machinegun)

Frick

(He runs past the shots)
(A SHIELD appears in front of him)

God Dang it!

(He fires at the soldier)
(That SHIELD begins firing the shotgun)


Nikolai-Can you do it now!?!?
