The Journey Series.

(First-person)

Matthias didn't see me. I think he tried creeping on the wrong girl at the wrong time. Dante was in hot pursuit. The Two Shields still standing where they were. He never saw it coming, a clothes-lined him and he hit the floor with a hard 'thud'. I stood over him, I kicked the gun away from his hand so he couldn't reach for it. I waited for Dante.

(He approaches Nikolaus and the man)

@Nikolaus

Thank you.

(He looks down at the man)
(A scowl on his face)

(The anger slowly exiting)
(The pain entering)

(First-person)

"Anytime." I pick up Matthias by the throat, "You've made a grave mistake."
I look at Dante, "how do you feel?"

(He grunts)

@Nikolaus

I am fine.

(He looks at Matthias)

You sick bastard.

(first-person)

"Well, Dante, he shot you. What do you want to do with him?"

(He grabs his stomach)
(He takes out his HC)

(He aims it at Matthias' forehead)

Would I stoop to his level? Am I really that much of a monster?

(He coughs up some blood)
(His vision begins to blur)
(He drops the HC and falls to the ground)

(first-person)


I see Dante fall, "Shit." I slam Matthias against the wall, putting a dent into it and toss him aside, he falls to the ground like a rag-doll: unconscious. "Dante! Can you here me?!"

(He takes deep breaths)

@Nikolaus

Yeah.
Get this shrapnel out of me.

(He falls unconscious)


(Netherrealm)

Oh man. Thats gotta suck.

(Laughter)

(first-person)

I quickly check his pulse, and drag him to the room he left, assuming it was Dante's. I lift the Spartan onto the BEd the bed and begin removing the armour to assess the wound. "Hey! Shields! Drag that man whose laying down in the hallway into here!" I turn back to my work.

(A few minutes pass before they respond)

Weaver-Right!

Gin-Yes!

(They rush over to the man)
(Gin hoists the man over his shoulder)

(They walk to the room)

(Once there they stand)
(Waiting for the next order)

(first-person)

I finish stripping the Armour off of Dante. I get up and go into the bathroom. soaking a towel in water I come back and begin to wash the area around the wound. I then slowly and gently clean the actual wound, looking for the piece of shrapnel.

(She can hear the things happening)

Oh god. Please be okay.

(She sits on the bed)

Please be okay


(Nikolai)

(He had gone to the bar)
(Drinking one shot right after another)

(Narrator)

Nikolaus continues working on Dante, doing what he can with what little is available. After turning Draco over he finds that the shrapnel piece had gone straight through, it was only a matter of patching up. He leaves the room for but a moment to retrieve the gun that had shot Dante, finding no 'clip' he puts the gun on the nightstand. Continuing his work. After much work, and convincing the hotel staff not to say anything to the authorities and for them to get him certain needed supplies, Dante was patched up.

(He wakes up)

Good Lord...

(he looks around)

@Nikolaus

Thank you, Nikolaus.

(He sits up)
(A small headache begins to form)

(He looks at the table beside him. He picks up the gun)

Interesting...

(first person)

"It's experimental. I don't know how he got his hands on it."

Hmm.

Nullified both layers of shielding.

(He shakes his head)
(He smiles)

He wouldnt mind if I kept it

(The headache growing more powerful)
(He closes his eyes)

@Nikolaus

Again. Thank you. I need some rest.

(first person)

"Anytime Dante, Anytime." I leave the room and dismiss the two Shields. While they head back to the rooms I drag Matthias out to the back of the hotel.

(Weaver and Gin go back into their room)
(They sleep)


(Dante had started to fall asleep when a knock was heard)

Sarah-Da..Dante?

(His voice down)

Dante-Yeah.

Sarah-Can I...come in?

Dante-Yeah.

(The door opens)
(She stands there)

(She rushes in to him)


(Nikolai)

(He is still pounding back shots)

Sarah-Are you okay?

Dante-I am.

Sarah-Thank god.

(She sits down on the bed facing him)

(He smiles)

Dante-I am a soldier. It will take a lot to take me down completely.

Sarah(pauses)-Yeah...

(His migrain growing)

Dante-Sarah. Are you okay.

Sarah-Dont worry about me. Thank you for coming when you did.

Dante-Your welcome.

Sarah-I should leave...

Dante-Yeah. Get some rest.

(Narrator)

Nikolaus takes Matthias out back and beats him half to death for his actions. Barely bloodying his knuckles against the mans soft flesh. He stands there panting over the now freshly unconscious body of Matthias. After which he checks his suit for any damage or wrinkles. Or Blood. He then goes to the hotel and rents a room for the night.

(She stands and leaves)
(Before she closes the door she gives one last glance at him)

(She goes into her room and lays down)

It almost happened again...He was there to stop it...

(She puts in her earbuds and falls asleep)


(Nikolai)

(He had been thrown out of the bar)
(He leaves for the hotel)

(Staggering. Bumping into people)
(Bumping into objects that he thought were people)

(Walks into a lamp post)

Excuse me ma'am

(He turns to his right)
(A vision has her head on his chest)
(He smiles and begins to drift off)

I am here. Where are you?


(Nikolai)

(He manages to get back to the hotel)
(Staggering)
(People avoiding him)

(He goes up to the third floor)
(Falling down)
(He stands and goes into his room)

(He lands on the bed and sleeps)

(From this point to the next this is now Journey unto Darkness)
(Dante will be spending much more of his time in his own head)


(He feels a pull)

Oh no

(He begins shaking)
(Falling into the abyss of his mind)

Not good

(He lands facedown. He looks up)
(Hope and Sarge greet him)

Dante-Hope...You...

Hope-I know. I am truly sorry.

*beep beep*

"yeah this is Latentwolf, over"

"Due to unforeseen consequences were going to pick you up and take you to the Rendezvous point."

"And?"

"We'll be there shortly."

Nikolaus sighs, he gets out a pad of paper and a pencil, writing:

I scratched it out and started anew:

Dante,

Tell Nikolai to behave himself.

Don't give up on Ash.

Kill Matthias the next time you see him, he's nothing but trouble.

Protect Sarah.

And if you find Ash, Don't let anything happen to her.

I read over the note, not much of a goodbye letter. The victorian style writing was always a clash with my size and being.
I pinned the note to his door, so that he may read it when he wakes. I then leave the hotel. And shortly thereafter, leave the planet.

Sarge-We thought we got him

(He stands up. Grabbing his stomach)

Dante-Yeah. (Heavy breathing) Didnt work out did it?

Hope-We cant touch the Netherrealm...

(He looks at her)

Dante-Why not?

Sarge-He has secured it. Only you can enter

Dante-Naturally.

Hope-I am sorry.

(He sighs)

Dante-What..Do I need..to do?

Hope-Make sure he is dead....

Dante-And how am I to do that.

Sarge-Clear your soul

Dante-Clear my soul?

Hope-Yes.

Dante-Sounds fun.

Hope-It will involve a comatose state for your outter self.

Dante-Making it sound way better.

Hope-You must kill him first. You will be placed into the state for the clearing.

Dante-Alright...For how long?

Hope-For as long as we need.

(He nods)

Dante-Fine.

Sarge-We must focus on your current health right now.

Dante-Yeah.

Hope-When finished. You will be truly free.

Dante-Cant wait.

(He sighs)

Dante-So what now. Wait until I am healed. Then go to him?

Hope-Basicly.

Dante-Okay


(Sarah)

(She had awakened)
(She changed her clothes and went out)
(She walked over to Dante's door)

(She takes the note and reads it)

Hmm

(She sighs)

He needs his rest...

(She puts the note back on the door)
(She leaves for the diner again)


Dante-Heal me then

(She raises her hand)
(Slowly his wounds begin to heal)

Hope-I can only heal you when you are in here. The Outter world your wounds will be present.

Dante(nods)-I read you.


(Nikolai)

(He had gotten extremely drunk the night before)
(He wakes up immediately)

Hangover...

(Nikolai stays in the bed)
(He occaisonally runs into the restroom to throw up)

God...

(She enters the diner, orders, eats, leaves)
(She heads out to the mall)

Hmm. I wonder what they have here.


(Dante's wound has healed)

Dante-Alright.

Sarge-That road. The road to the Netherrealm. (shakes head) Evil.

Dante-Never said it wasnt.

Hope-Take that road. (points) You will find him.

(He nods)

Hope-Dont die.

Dante-I wont. That is a promise.

Sarge(salute)-Sir! Good luck.

Dante-Luck...

(He sets off)
(Leaving his armor. His weapons. Everything)

(The only thing he kept was the Shield and dogtags)

(His eyes go tri-colored)

(He sees a planet appear off into the distance)
(Familiar)

(Reach, before it's destruction)

(He continues on the path)
(Viewing old memories once more)

(His parents. So loving, caring, strict where needed)

(He sighs)

(Figures begin to appear. Following him)
(Taunting him)

(The figures represented the children)

(Not wanting to know him as a person)

(One figure however is running to him)

(Nikolai shakes his head)

Sarah-This is so not good.

(She looks at Dante)

Nikolai-When did you say he went under?

Sarah-One month. I had just spoken to him.

Nikolai-Hmm...

(He stayed in the memory of Ash watching over him in the medbay)
